Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 52 Ultrasonic Bath, 1.8 L, 35 kHz, 3205

The inner dimensions of the Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 52 tank are 150 x 140 x 100 mm, and its total capacity is 1.8 l. Compared to the DT 31, the bath is roughly twice as large and also features the DEGAS degassing function. The DT 52 does not have a built-in heater.

Tank and installation

The working capacity is 1.2 l, and there is a fill-level mark. The tank (0.8 mm) and housing are made of 1.4301 stainless steel. The unit measures 175 x 165 x 225 mm externally, weighs 2.4 kg and has no handles or drain. The mains cable is 2 m long and permanently attached to the unit; the protection rating is IP 33.

Ultrasonic with 240 watts peak power

The single transducer operates at 35 kHz and achieves a peak power of 240 watts at a rated power of 60 watts. SweepTec works fully automatically to counteract standing waves in the ultrasonic field, and the pulse function complements this. The DEGAS degassing function is activated at the start of the cleaning process and is designed to enhance the effect of the ultrasound.

Buttons, display and timer

Time and functions are selected via wipe-clean buttons; the display shows the remaining cleaning time. The timer runs for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes (± 5 %), or alternatively in continuous operation. The unit switches off after twelve hours if no button is pressed. If you also need to control the bath temperature, choose the DT 52 H, which has an identical tank.

Holders for samples and flasks

Bandelin offers the RG 2 test tube holder (for six test tubes up to 25 mm in diameter or eight up to 16 mm) and the RG 2.2 (for six test tubes up to 30 mm or six up to 17 mm) for this bath. The GH 1 apparatus holder accommodates glass flasks up to 105 mm in diameter and supports loads of up to 1 kg. Also available are the K 1 C insert basket (120 x 110 x 40 mm, up to 1 kg), the D 52 lid and the DE 52 perforated lid for an insert beaker.

Frequently asked questions

How many test tubes can be sonicated at the same time? With the RG 2 holder, six tubes up to 25 mm in diameter or eight up to 16 mm; with the RG 2.2, six tubes up to 30 mm or six up to 17 mm. The holders are not included in the scope of delivery.

What is the difference between the DT 52 and the DT 52 H? Both have the same tank and the same ultrasonic power. The DT 52 H also has a heating element with an adjustable range of 20 to 80 °C.

Does the DT 52 have a drain? No, there is no drain.

Are there different plug types available? Yes, Bandelin offers GB, CH and US versions under their own order numbers, such as 3205-GB. The 3205 model is available with a CEE 7/7 EU plug for 230 V.
