The bath temperature of the Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 52 H can be set between 20 and 80 °C. A 140-watt heating element maintains the temperature of the stainless steel tank, which has internal dimensions of 150 x 140 x 100 mm and a total capacity of 1.8 l; the display shows the setpoint and actual bath temperature.
Heater and safety features
Two safety features are built in: protection against delayed boiling and dry-run protection for the heating element. In addition, the unit switches off automatically twelve hours after the last button press. If a fixed temperature is sufficient, the DT 31 H with 65 °C is also adequate, although its tank is smaller at 0.9 l.
Ultrasonic unit
A vibration system generates a peak power of 240 watts at 35 kHz (rated power 60 watts). SweepTec operates fully automatically to prevent standing waves from forming in the sound field; it also features a pulse function and DEGAS rapid degassing. Degassing is activated at the start of the cleaning process. The unheated sister model, the DT 52, has the same ultrasonic specifications.
Operation
The buttons can be wiped clean. The cleaning duration can be set to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes (tolerance ± 5 %); continuous operation is also possible. The current consumption is 0.9 A at 230 V; the mains cable is 2 m long and is permanently attached.
Housing and dimensions
The appliance weighs 2.5 kg and measures 175 x 165 x 225 mm. The tank (0.8 mm) and housing are made of 1.4301 stainless steel; there are no handles or drain. The working capacity of 1.2 l can be read from the fill level mark; the protection rating is IP 33.
Accessories
Test tube holders RG 2 and RG 2.2, the GH 1 apparatus holder for glass flasks up to 105 mm, the K 1 C insert basket, lid D 52 and the perforated lid DE 52 are designed for use with the DT 52 H bath. 0.6-litre insert beakers are available in glass, plastic and stainless steel.
