The large SONOREX built-in ultrasonic baths, the ZE 1058 and ZE 1059, with a capacity of 46 l, do not have a generator inside the tank. The power is supplied from a separate unit, the Bandelin SONOREX GT 1003 M-C. Operating at 35 kHz, it delivers a peak power of 2,400 W and a rated power of 600 W, and is one of four built-in units: the ZE 1058, ZE 1058 DT, ZE 1059 and ZE 1059 DT.

Generator, oscillating tank and control unit

A Bandelin built-in ultrasonic bath consists of three parts: the oscillating tank, the generator and the control unit. In the case of the ZE 1058, these are the TE 1058.2 oscillating tank with 16 vibration systems on the base, the GT 1003 M-C and the ST 15.1 control unit with a rotary knob. The DT models are operated via buttons on the ST 30.1 DT control unit and feature a temperature display, an overtemperature warning and DEGAS rapid degassing. The generator connects to the ST control unit via the IEC 60320-C14 mains plug.

Performance data during operation

The GT 1003 M-C operates with overload protection and delivers constant power output. This means that the power output remains stable even when the load in the bath varies. Functions include pulse mode and sweep; the DT versions also feature DEGAS rapid degassing. The generator draws 2.7 A at 230 V and 5.3 A at 115 V. The leakage current is less than 3.5 mA. The operating voltage is 230 V~ (± 10 %) at 50/60 Hz.

Installation with mounting bracket

The aluminium housing is painted, measures 360 x 310 x 142 mm and has an IP 20 rating. It is mounted vertically using the mounting bracket and can be hung on either the left or right-hand side. The ZE baths are designed for under-mounting into a worktop or cabinet; the generator is housed in a separate unit.

The GT 1003 M-C is intended for the large ZE baths with internal tank dimensions of 600 x 400 mm: SONOREX ZE 1058, ZE 1058 DT, ZE 1059 and ZE 1059 DT. The smaller ZE 1031 and ZE 1032 baths use the GT 503 M-C and GT 504 M-C generators respectively. The device is classified as a Class I medical device according to Regulation (EU) 2017/745 and complies with the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives.
