The Bandelin SONOREX ZE 1059 DT is the built-in ultrasonic bath with the most advanced technology in the 46-litre class of the ZE series: TwinSonic with bottom and side ultrasonic waves, plus the ST 30.1 DT control unit with temperature display and DEGAS. It is designed for under-counter installation.

What’s inside the ZE 1059 DT

Controls

There are eight time settings to choose from: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes (± 5 %). There is also a continuous operation mode. The DEGAS rapid degassing function degasses freshly prepared liquid. The temperature display is part of the control unit; the temperature probe is supplied with the bath. Those who can do without the temperature display and DEGAS function can opt for the SONOREX ZE 1059 with a rotary knob, which features the same bath and generator.

Sound distribution and tank

According to the manufacturer, TwinSonic distributes the sound throughout the bath and reduces sound shadows without the basket having to oscillate. The base of the tank (600 x 400 mm, depth 200/220+ mm) is sloped, the corners are rounded, and the drain bead is 1½ inches. The 1.4404 stainless steel is 2.0 mm thick. The external dimensions of the oscillating tank are 660 x 504 x 270/290 mm. A fill level mark is provided.

Compared to the ZE 1058 DT

The SONOREX ZE 1058 DT has the same control system, a 46.0-litre capacity and a peak power output of 2,400 watts. The difference lies in the ultrasonic transducers: 16 bottom transducers on the 1058 DT, 11 plus 5 on the ZE 1059 DT. The external width is 460 mm compared with 504 mm, and the net weight is 23.3 kg compared with 23.9 kg. The GT 1003 M-C ultrasonic generator is the same in both units.

Installation and accessories

The generator is given its own space: the aluminium housing (360 x 310 x 142 mm, IP 20) is mounted vertically using the mounting bracket and connected to the tank via a 2 m long cable with an AMP-CPC plug. The oscillating tank has an IP 30 protection rating; the ambient temperature may be between 5 and 40 °C. The FT 37 foil test frame is included in the kit. Accessories listed include the KT 57 and KT 57 Z basket supports, the K 29 EM insert basket, the D 57 lid and the D 1058 G hinged lid.
