SONOREX SUPER RK 255 ultrasonic bath – tried-and-tested cleaning technology for laboratories and medical practices
The Bandelin SONOREX SUPER RK 255 is a compact ultrasonic cleaner with a total capacity of 5.5 litres (3.8 litres working capacity), designed for daily cleaning routines in laboratories, doctors’ surgeries, dental practices and industrial workshops. Using an ultrasonic frequency of 35 kHz, the unit generates fine cavitation bubbles that reliably dislodge contaminants even from hard-to-reach cavities, channels, threads and crevices. It is operated via a simple rotary knob, which allows the cleaning duration to be adjusted continuously – ensuring straightforward use without complex menu navigation and without the need for a lengthy training period for laboratory staff. This allows the ultrasonic bath to be easily integrated into existing cleaning and reprocessing workflows, for example as a standalone unit alongside a cleaning and disinfection device or as a pre-treatment stage prior to sterilisation.
Applications: Instruments, laboratory glassware and solvents
Thanks to its peak ultrasonic power of 640 W (rated power 160 W), the ultrasonic bath is suitable for a wide range of cleaning tasks. Typical applications include the pre-cleaning and preparation of instruments prior to sterilisation, the gentle cleaning of laboratory glassware, pipettes, cuvettes and other small parts, as well as the degassing of solvents and aqueous media prior to sensitive analytical processes. Even stubborn residues such as dried-on samples or grease on tools and small parts can be thoroughly removed without damaging the material thanks to the intensive cavitation effect. The level mark on the stainless-steel tank facilitates correct filling with cleaning fluid, whilst the side drain, fitted with a ball valve and hose, allows the bath to be emptied easily and cleanly without the need for decanting – a particular advantage given the frequent changes of fluid required in everyday laboratory work.
Robust construction for continuous use
Both the ultrasonic bath and the housing are made of 1.4301 stainless steel, which ensures high resistance to cleaning agents and disinfectants, as well as a long service life in everyday laboratory use. The splash-proof housing (IP 32 rating) and the side handles facilitate transport and installation, for example on a workbench, a laboratory table or a mobile trolley. The timer covers a range of 1 to 15 minutes (± 5 per cent) and can alternatively be set to continuous operation, allowing for both short cleaning cycles for delicate parts and longer applications. The permanently fitted, 2-metre-long mains cable ensures flexible positioning at the workstation without the need for additional extension leads. For optimally tailored ultrasonic cleaning, baskets, lids and cleaning and disinfection concentrates are available as separate accessories to complement the unit.
