Bandelin SONOREX ZE 1058 built-in ultrasonic bath with rotary knob, 46 litres, 35 kHz, 3050

46.0-litre capacity on a 600 x 400 mm tank surface: where the 29-litre tanks of the ZE series prove too small, the Bandelin SONOREX ZE 1058 is the next-size-up built-in ultrasonic bath. Under-bench installation, a rotary knob control and a separate generator are in line with the design of the smaller models; the generator used here is the GT 1003 M-C.

Space requirements and tank

The internal dimensions of the TE 1058.2 tank are 600 x 400 mm with a depth of 200/220+ mm. The base is sloped, the corners are rounded, and the drain is situated in a 1½-inch groove. The 1.4404 stainless steel has a thickness of 2.0 mm. Of the 46.0-litre capacity, 32.0 l is the working capacity; a fill level mark is provided. Externally, the vibrating tank measures 660 x 460 x 270/290 mm; the degree of protection is IP 30. The net weight is 23.3 kg; the gross weight is 47.4 kg in a carton measuring 1,200 x 800 x 740 mm.

2,400 watts from 16 vibration systems

Sixteen vibration systems are mounted on the base of the tank. They are powered by the GT 1003 M-C ultrasonic generator, which delivers 600 watts of rated power and 2,400 watts of peak power at 35 kHz. The generator housing, made of painted aluminium, measures 360 x 310 x 142 mm and has an IP 20 protection rating. It is mounted vertically using the mounting bracket. A 2-metre-long connection cable with an AMP-CPC plug leads to the tank. The mains connection is 230 V~ (± 10 %), and the current consumption is 2.7 A.

Settings for the ST 15.1

The rotary knob is used to set times from 1 to 15 minutes (± 5 %); continuous operation is also available. The generator features a pulse function and a sweep function. The version with push-button control, temperature display and DEGAS is the SONOREX ZE 1058 DT, which features the same tank and generator as this model.

ZE 1058 or ZE 1059

Both models have a capacity of 46.0 l and a peak power output of 2,400 watts. The SONOREX ZE 1059 is slightly wider, with an external width of 504 mm; it has eleven vibration systems on the base and five on the side, and operates using TwinSonic technology. The ZE 1058 has only bottom vibrators and is supplied in a carton measuring 1,200 x 800 x 740 mm, whilst the ZE 1059 is supplied on a pallet of the same dimensions.

Accessories for the 600 x 400 mm tank

The K 29 EM is listed as the insert basket. There are dedicated basket supports for this tank size: the KT 57 and the KT 57 Z with handles. The tank can be covered with the D 57 lid or the D 1058 G hinged lid. The SM 29 silicone studded mat is supplied in a set of two, and the G 1 ½ Type V drain fitting is suitable for the groove in the base. The FT 37 film test frame is included in the kit; a built-in rinsing tank can be ordered as the SONOREX SW 58 Z. The permitted ambient temperature is 5 to 40 °C.
