Product information "Binder FP 260 drying and heating cabinet with forced air circulation and programme functions, 259 l, 9010-0365"
The Binder FP 260 drying oven is the largest model in the FP series of materials testing ovens, featuring forced convection and programmable functions. With a usable volume of 259 litres and a temperature range from 10 °C above ambient temperature up to 300 °C, the unit is suitable for test tasks involving larger batches or multiple test specimens to be processed simultaneously, where temperature and air circulation must be maintained precisely over extended periods.
Programmable test sequences with Ethernet connection
The additional programme functions and the adjustable fan allow temperature and air circulation conditions to be precisely tailored to complex, lengthy test tasks. The freely programmable controller, featuring time-segment and real-time programming, allows for temperature ramps or jumps, whilst an Ethernet interface integrates the unit into the laboratory infrastructure. The electromechanically controlled exhaust air flap adjusts the air exchange to suit the respective process.
Stable temperature control even with larger volumes
At 150 °C, the FP 260 achieves a spatial temperature deviation of 1.7 ± K and a temporal deviation of 0.4 ± K. The heat-up time to 150 °C is 19 minutes; after the door has been open for 30 seconds, the setpoint temperature is reached again after 6 minutes. The air change rate at 100 °C is 9 times per hour. The unit is available with a choice of 230 V (1-phase, 2.5 kW, 16 A unit fuse) or 240 V (3-phase) power supply.
Typical applications
- Material testing and long-term testing of larger components or batches
- Heat treatment of material samples in quality assurance and development
- Test programmes with defined temperature ramps over several hours
- Drying of larger quantities of laboratory glassware or test specimens
Where the FP 115 reaches its capacity limits – for example, when several test specimens need to follow an identical temperature profile simultaneously – the FP 260, with a 259-litre capacity, offers sufficient internal space without compromising on programming accuracy.
Selection guide: choosing the right model size in the FP series
With a capacity of 259 litres, the FP 260 is the largest model in the FP series, significantly larger than the FP 115 and the compact FP 56. You can find the complete range of this series in the LT Laborhandel range of climate chambers and incubators.
| Model | Useful volume, external dimensions (W x D x H), weight |
| FP 56 | 60 l, 560 x 596 x 622 mm, 41 kg |
| FP 115 | 116 l, 714 x 636 x 732 mm, 55 kg |
| FP 260 | 259 l, 810 x 786 x 962 mm, 82 kg |
For test programmes involving larger components or multiple batches to be processed simultaneously, where the smaller FP models reach their volume limits, the FP 260 is the ideal choice within the range.
Distinguishing feature: FP or M – depending on how many programme functions are required
The same applies to the larger model: with programmable temperature ramps and an Ethernet connection, the FP 260 meets standard test requirements. Those who also require an internal data logger and a failsafe function with a backup sensor for greater process reliability will find the appropriately equipped alternative in the Binder M 260 drying and heating cabinet, which is identical in design.
