Product information "Brand Dispensette S Organic Bottle-Top Dispenser, Analog, 2.5-25 ml, with Recirculation Valve, DE-M, 4630151"
For a fixed reaction volume with tetrahydrofuran or concentrated nitric acid, priming the analog version should not waste any reagent. The Brand Dispensette S Organic Analog with recirculation valve (2.5 to 25 ml) returns excess volume via the recirculation tube. At 2.5-25 ml, the subdivision is 0.5 ml, the accuracy is 0.5 %/125 µl, and the coefficient of variation is 0.1 %/25 µl.
Typical applications
The yellow colour code identifies the Organic series in the Brand range. In practice, for 2.5-25 ml these include among others:
- priming before preparing fixed THF reaction volumes, without loss of reagent
- recurrent addition of concentrated nitric acid with recirculation of excess volume
- standardised filling with trichlorotrifluoroethane and loss-free refilling
Analog version and selection guide
The volume is set via the volume setting screw with indicator pointer: loosen the screw by three-quarters of a turn, slide the indicator pointer to the scale value, tighten the screw again. Once set, the value remains fixed until intentionally changed. Analog instruments can be adjusted without tools via Easy Calibration. Bottle adapters for GL 32-33, GL 38, S 40 are included, and the suction tube can be adjusted to 170-330 mm.
For a fixed but expensive solvent volume, the recirculation valve saves reagent during daily priming. For inexpensive standard media, the version without recirculation valve is sufficient.
Materials and autoclavability
Wetted parts consist of borosilicate glass, Al2O3 ceramic, ETFE, FEP, PFA, PTFE, tantalum, PP (screw cap/bottle adapter). The instrument is autoclavable under the following conditions: yes, 121 °C, 2 bar, at least 15 minutes according to DIN EN 285, cooling time approx. 2 hours in the closed autoclave. Tantalum as valve spring material together with the fluoroplastics ETFE, FEP, PFA and PTFE makes the Organic series suitable for organic solvents and some concentrated acids, but not for alkalis and salt solutions.
The Dispensette S Organic is not suitable for alkalis, salt solutions, carbon disulfide, explosive liquids and media that attack borosilicate glass, such as hydrofluoric acid. For alkalis and salt solutions, the Dispensette S in red (Standard) is the appropriate series, for trace analysis with a selectable valve spring made of platinum-iridium or tantalum, the Dispensette S Trace Analysis.
Mounting and changing to a different supply bottle are carried out using the supplied mounting tool and the telescopic suction tube, which can be adjusted to the respective bottle height. The bottle adapter included in the scope of delivery fits the respective GL45-compatible thread and makes the dispenser usable independently of the specific supply bottle.
Accuracy at a glance
For 2.5-25 ml: subdivision 0.5 ml, accuracy 0.5 %/125 µl, coefficient of variation 0.1 %/25 µl. The abbreviation DE-M in the name confirms calibration according to the requirements of the German Weights and Measures Act.
Other volumes in the analog version
In addition to 2.5-25 ml, the analog version of the Dispensette S Organic covers further ranges:
| Volume | Accuracy | MPN (without recirculation valve) |
| 0.5-5 ml | 0.5 %/25 µl | 4630130 |
| 1-10 ml | 0.5 %/50 µl | 4630140 |
| 5-50 ml | 0.5 %/250 µl | 4630160 |
| 10-100 ml | 0.5 %/500 µl | 4630170 |
Frequently asked questions
What is the recirculation valve used for?
It allows priming of the dispensing system before the first use without losing reagent: air and excess volume return to the supply bottle via the recirculation tube instead of into the waste. This is particularly relevant for expensive or environmentally sensitive solvents.
How is the analog version adjusted in the 2.5-25 ml range?
Easy Calibration makes this possible without tools, an adjustment deviating from the factory setting is made visible by a red mark.

Differentiation within the Dispensette S family
The Organic series (yellow) is designed for the media described here. For alkalis or other acids outside this list, the standard Dispensette S (red) is the correct series. For trace analysis with a selectable valve spring made of platinum-iridium or tantalum, the Dispensette S Trace Analysis is available separately.
