Product information "Brand Dispensette S Organic Bottle-Top Dispenser, Analog, 5-50 ml, with recirculation valve, DE-M, 4630161"
When decanting larger quantities of an expensive organic solvent, nothing should be lost when venting, even with a fixed analogue setting. The Brand Dispensette S Organic Analog with recirculation valve (5 to 50 ml) returns excess volume to the reservoir bottle. At 5-50 ml the graduation is 1 ml, the accuracy is 0.5 %/250 µl and the coefficient of variation is 0.1 %/50 µl.
Typical applications
The yellow colour code identifies the Organic series in the Brand range. For 5-50 ml, in practice these include:
- Venting before decanting larger quantities of organic solvent, without reagent loss
- recurring dichloromethane dispensing, with excess volume returned
- standardised addition of concentrated hydrochloric acid, with refilling without loss
Analogue version and selection guide
The volume is set using the volume adjustment screw with indicator arrow: loosen the screw by three quarters of a turn, slide the indicator arrow to the scale value, and tighten the screw again. Once set, the value stays until deliberately changed. Analogue devices can be adjusted without tools via Easy Calibration. Matching bottle adapters for GL 32-33, GL 38, S 40 are included, and the filling tube can be adjusted to 170-330 mm.
With repeated decanting of expensive solvents, the recirculation valve pays off when venting. For inexpensive media, the analogue version without RV is sufficient.
Materials and autoclavability
Wetted parts are made of borosilicate glass, Al2O3 ceramic, ETFE, FEP, PFA, PTFE, tantalum, PP (screw cap/bottle adapter). The device is autoclavable under the following conditions: yes, 121 °C, 2 bar, at least 15 minutes to DIN EN 285, cooling time approx. 2 hours in the closed autoclave. Tantalum as the valve spring material, together with the fluoroplastics ETFE, FEP, PFA and PTFE, makes the Organic series suitable for organic solvents and some concentrated acids, but not for alkaline solutions and salt solutions.
The Dispensette S Organic is not suitable for alkaline solutions, salt solutions, carbon disulphide, explosive liquids and media that attack borosilicate glass, such as hydrofluoric acid. For alkaline solutions and salt solutions, the Dispensette S in red (standard) is the suitable series, and for trace analysis with a selectable valve spring of platinum-iridium or tantalum, the Dispensette S Trace Analysis.
Assembly and changing to a different reservoir bottle are done with the supplied mounting tool and the telescopic filling tube, which can be adjusted to the respective bottle height. The bottle adapter included in the scope of delivery fits the respective GL45-compatible thread and makes the dispenser usable regardless of the specific reservoir bottle.
Accuracy at a glance
For 5-50 ml: graduation 1 ml, accuracy 0.5 %/250 µl, coefficient of variation 0.1 %/50 µl. The DE-M marking in the product name refers to the finished calibration in accordance with German weights and measures law.
Other volumes in the analogue version
In addition to 5-50 ml, further volume ranges are available within the Dispensette S Organic Analog:
| Volume | Accuracy | MPN (without RV) |
| 0.5-5 ml | 0.5 %/25 µl | 4630130 |
| 1-10 ml | 0.5 %/50 µl | 4630140 |
| 2.5-25 ml | 0.5 %/125 µl | 4630150 |
| 10-100 ml | 0.5 %/500 µl | 4630170 |
Frequently asked questions
What is the recirculation valve needed for?
It allows the dispensing system to be vented before first use without losing any reagent: air and excess volume go back into the reservoir bottle via the recirculation tube instead of into waste. This is particularly relevant with expensive or environmentally relevant solvents.
How is the analogue version adjusted in the 5-50 ml range?
Via Easy Calibration, without tools. A changed factory adjustment is indicated by a red marking on the device.

Distinction within the Dispensette S family
The choice of series depends on the medium being dispensed: the Organic series (yellow) is intended for the organic solvents and acids listed above, and the standard Dispensette S (red) for alkaline solutions and most other acids. For trace analysis with a selectable valve spring of platinum-iridium or tantalum, the Dispensette S Trace Analysis is available separately.
