Product information "Brand Dispensette S Organic Bottle-Top Dispenser, Digital, 1-10 ml, with recirculation valve, DE-M, 4630341"
Concentrated nitric acid and organic solvents such as dichloromethane are media where a dispensing mishap should not simply go down the drain. The Brand Dispensette S Organic Digital with recirculation valve (1 to 10 ml) can be vented before the first dispensing without losing any reagent. At 1-10 ml the graduation is 0.05 ml, the accuracy is 0.5 %/50 µl and the coefficient of variation is 0.1 %/10 µl.
Typical applications
The yellow colour code identifies the Organic series in the Brand range. For 1-10 ml, in practice these include:
- Venting before dispensing concentrated nitric acid in sample digestion, without reagent loss
- Adding dichloromethane in extraction, with excess volume returned
- Dispensing varying amounts of THF in synthesis, where any excess goes back into the bottle instead of into waste
Digital version and selection guide
The volume is set using the volume adjustment wheel with mechanical counter and can be quickly readjusted between individual dispensing steps. Digital devices can be adjusted without tools via Easy Calibration. Matching bottle adapters for GL 24-25, GL28/S 28, GL 32-33, GL 38, S 40 are included, and the filling tube can be adjusted to 125-240 mm.
With nitric acid or dichloromethane in larger quantities, the recirculation valve pays off in daily venting, because no reagent is discarded. For non-critical, inexpensive media in the same range, the version without a recirculation valve is sufficient.
Materials and autoclavability
Wetted parts are made of borosilicate glass, Al2O3 ceramic, ETFE, FEP, PFA, PTFE, tantalum, PP (screw cap/bottle adapter). The device is autoclavable under the following conditions: yes, 121 °C, 2 bar, at least 15 minutes to DIN EN 285, cooling time approx. 2 hours in the closed autoclave. Tantalum as the valve spring material, together with the fluoroplastics ETFE, FEP, PFA and PTFE, makes the Organic series suitable for organic solvents and some concentrated acids, but not for alkaline solutions and salt solutions.
The Dispensette S Organic is not suitable for alkaline solutions, salt solutions, carbon disulphide, explosive liquids and media that attack borosilicate glass, such as hydrofluoric acid. For alkaline solutions and salt solutions, the Dispensette S in red (standard) is the suitable series, and for trace analysis with a selectable valve spring of platinum-iridium or tantalum, the Dispensette S Trace Analysis.
Assembly and changing to a different reservoir bottle are done with the supplied mounting tool and the telescopic filling tube, which can be adjusted to the respective bottle height. The bottle adapter included in the scope of delivery fits the respective GL45-compatible thread and makes the dispenser usable regardless of the specific reservoir bottle.
Accuracy at a glance
For 1-10 ml: graduation 0.05 ml, accuracy 0.5 %/50 µl, coefficient of variation 0.1 %/10 µl. The DE-M marking in the product name refers to the finished calibration in accordance with German weights and measures law.
Other volumes in the digital version
In addition to 1-10 ml, further volume ranges are available within the Dispensette S Organic Digital:
| Volume | Accuracy | MPN (without RV) |
| 0.5-5 ml | 0.5 %/25 µl | 4630330 |
| 2.5-25 ml | 0.5 %/125 µl | 4630350 |
| 5-50 ml | 0.5 %/250 µl | 4630360 |
Frequently asked questions
What is the recirculation valve needed for?
It allows the dispensing system to be vented before first use without losing any reagent: air and excess volume go back into the reservoir bottle via the recirculation tube instead of into waste. This is particularly relevant with expensive or environmentally relevant solvents.
How is the digital version adjusted in the 1-10 ml range?
Via Easy Calibration, without tools. A changed factory adjustment is indicated by a red marking on the device.

Distinction within the Dispensette S family
For the medium dispensed here, the yellow Organic series is the right choice. For alkaline solutions or most other acids, the red standard Dispensette S would be required instead. For trace analysis with a selectable valve spring of platinum-iridium or tantalum, the Dispensette S Trace Analysis is available separately.
