The seripettor 2.5-25 ml is a bottle-top dispenser for repeated dosing directly from the supply bottle, without the need for a pipette. The valve block with discharge tube is pre-assembled onto the GL45 thread; dosing is controlled by the stroke of the actuator.
Autoclavable except for two components
The valve block, filling tube, discharge tube and valves are autoclavable at 121 °C, 2 bar, for at least 15 minutes according to DIN EN 285, following removal of the actuator and dosing units. The actuator unit and dosing unit themselves are not autoclavable. For sterile batch processing, this means that the part of the dispenser in contact with the medium can be steam-sterilised without having to replace the entire device.
Suitable for aqueous and mildly corrosive solutions
Suitable for aqueous solutions such as buffer solutions, detergents, anti-foaming agents, culture media, vitamin solutions and hydrogen peroxide; for agar culture media up to 60 °C; for weakly concentrated or diluted non-oxidising acids and alkalis such as sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution or ammonia, as well as for polar solvents such as ethanol, methanol and acetylacetone. Hydrofluoric acid is not suitable.
Error limits for the 2.5-25 ml range
For the 2.5-25 ml range, Brand specifies an accuracy of 1.2 % / 300 µl and a coefficient of variation of 0.2 % / 50 µl, with a graduation of 0.5 ml.

Selection guide: Volumes and media
The 2.5-25 ml stage is the largest in the seripettor range and is designed for dispensing operations where more than 10 ml per stroke is required, such as when filling larger culture vessels. For smaller volumes, 0.2-2 ml and 1-10 ml stages are available. Sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and ammonia are also suitable for this stage; hydrofluoric acid is excluded. Those requiring concentrated hydrochloric acid as well will find the same volume stage available as the seripettor pro.
seripettor versus Dispensette S
The seripettor dispenses repeatedly from a permanently mounted bottle, whereas a Dispensette S allows for a freely adjustable volume per stroke. For media that exceed the seripettor’s suitability, such as organic solvents, a Dispensette S Organic from our range is recommended.

Application and maintenance
The valve block with discharge tube is pre-assembled on the thread and is screwed onto the supply bottle using one of the three PP bottle adaptors (GL 32, GL 38, S 40). Before the first dispensing operation and after each change of fluid, the dispenser must be vented, as with any piston dispenser, by repeatedly actuating the dosing unit until no air bubbles are visible in the filling tube. The filling tube has a fixed length of 250 mm and is not telescopic; the device is therefore particularly suitable for use with a fixed bottle size at the workstation. Two dosing units are included, so there is no need to reorder immediately in the event of a fault or when switching between two media. For sterile batch processing, the valve block, filling tube, discharge tube and valves can be autoclaved after removing the actuator and dosing unit; thereafter, simply vent the system again before the next batch.
