The Brand Transferpette S Fix F-2000 dispenses a fixed volume of 2,000 µl (2 ml), the same for every sample. It is a single-channel air cushion pipette designed for tasks that always require the same volume. The accuracy is ≤ ±0.8 % (≤ ±16 µl) and the coefficient of variation is ≤ 0.3 % (≤ 6 µl), in each case relative to the nominal volume. The instrument is marked DE-M according to the German Measures and Verification Act.
Error limits and marking
The final test values are determined according to DIN EN ISO 8655 at 20 °C, with the instrument, the ambient environment and the distilled water all at the same temperature. The instrument bears the DE-M marking with the year of marking, the serial number and a QR or Data Matrix code for BRAND MyProduct. The certificates for the individual instrument can be accessed online via this code. A quality certificate is supplied with the pipette.
Compatible pipette tips and PE filters
Pipette tips ranging from 500 to 5,000 µl are intended for use with the F-2000. For devices with 2, 5 and 10 ml, BRAND recommends working only with a built-in PE filter. The pipette can also be operated without a filter. The PE filter is removed before autoclaving.
Operating limits
The pipette operates at temperatures ranging from +15 to +40 °C; other temperatures are available on request. The vapour pressure of the sample may be up to 500 mbar, and the viscosity up to 260 mPa s. For viscous media, the pipetting speed should be adjusted. The pipette is intended for use with liquids of low to medium viscosity.
Tool-free adjustment
The Easy Calibration technology allows for tool-free adjustment. With the Fix model, the volume is adjusted by turning in the plus or minus direction; the fixed nominal volume cannot be altered.
Autoclaving and UV sterilisation
The entire pipette can be autoclaved at 121 °C and 2 bar with a holding time of 15 minutes; the procedure according to DIN EN 285 is recommended. Before autoclaving, the tip is discarded and the PE filter is removed; in the autoclave, the pipette lies in a sterilisation pouch. You must check for yourself whether the sterilisation has been effective. The pipette is resistant to standard UV disinfection lamps, although a change in colour is possible.
Fixed or variable
The F-2000 has a fixed volume and is designed for batches requiring a constant volume. If you wish to adjust the volume, use a variable Transferpette S, such as the Transferpette S D-1000 or the Transferpette S D-5000.
