Two 3/4-inch threaded adaptors with lock nuts distinguish the Bürkle 5610-1040 barrel pump from its sister model: the hose connection on the dispensing container is securely screwed in place. The pump itself is a hand-operated reciprocating piston pump made of PP with a gas vent line, which delivers 220 ml per stroke. The telescopic tube extends continuously to a depth of between 40 and 67 cm into the container, and the outlet hose is 1.2 m long.
Tightly screwed connection with 3/4-inch adaptors
The adaptors with lock nuts are designed for openings from 28 mm; a universal plug for openings from 34 to 70 mm is included for the original container. This variant is useful if you do not want the hose connection on the container to consist of a plug. Those who prefer the flexibility to switch between different opening sizes should take a look at the 5610-1030 drum pump with a variable universal plug.
Gas and liquid lines
Gas recirculation takes place via the gas recirculation line; the gas and liquid lines each have a shut-off valve. Bürkle intends the pump for the low-odour transfer of volatile, strong-smelling or harmful liquids, such as strongly odourous substances like ammonia, as well as acids and alkalis. For acids and alkalis, the resistance of the materials PP, PE and PVC is crucial; the outlet hose is made of soft PVC.
Displacement volume and dip tube
The pump dispenses 220 ml per stroke. The dip tube has a diameter of 32 mm, whilst the tube above it is 22 mm in diameter. As the telescopic tube can be extended continuously from 40 to 67 cm, the pump is suitable for drums and canisters of various heights. The handle is attached to the piston.
Not suitable for flammable liquids
The instructions for use explicitly exclude the filling of flammable liquids. The material is non-conductive. For handling acids, alkalis or liquids harmful to health, the SafetyBox 2507-9000 from Bürkle is available, complete with safety goggles and protective gloves.
Operating limitations
Pumping is carried out manually; continuous operation is not intended. The permissible temperature range is 0 to 40 °C, and the unit is for indoor use only. Contaminated fluids are not permitted, and the pump is not dishwasher-safe. When the piston is extended, it requires space above the container plus 20 cm. No maintenance is required.
