Elma Elmasonic P300H Ultrasonic Bath with Heating, 27.5 Litre, 37/80 kHz, 1013810

Product information "Elma Elmasonic P300H Ultrasonic Bath with Heating, 27.5 Litre, 37/80 kHz, 1013810"

Where larger components or several batches of samples need to be cleaned simultaneously using two ultrasonic frequencies, a tank capacity greater than 2.75 litres is required. The Elma Elmasonic P300H extends the P-series’ dual-frequency technology to a tank volume of up to 27.5 litres, making it suitable for industrial precision cleaning and larger batches of samples. Like the entire P-series, the unit is designed for medical and analytical laboratories, as well as for intensive cleaning in industry, where larger quantities are processed per cleaning cycle and a smaller bath would need to be refilled too frequently.

Two frequencies with higher power

Switchable between 37 and 80 kHz, the unit delivers 380 watts of effective ultrasonic power at a peak power of 1,520 watts, significantly more than the smaller P 30H. Pulse, Sweep, Degas, power control, Pause and Autostart are available, as with the entire P series. The total power consumption is 1,630 watts, and the 1,250-watt heating system covers a temperature range of 30 to 80 °C, which is also sufficient for cleaning agents that only achieve their full effect at higher temperatures, such as greasy residues in industrial cleaning.

Large basket for higher load capacity

The tank holds up to 27.5 litres; the recommended working volume is 20.6 litres, with internal dimensions of 505 x 300 x 200 mm. The modular cleaning basket 300 (Item No. 1113072) is designed for a load of up to 10.0 kg, which is sufficient for larger components, entire tool sets or several batches of samples in a single cycle. A drain tap (G 3/8 inch) makes it easier to change the cleaning medium between batches; with a volume of 27.5 litres, this saves a considerable amount of time compared to manual draining.

Operation and operating environment

Two rotary switches set the ultrasonic cleaning duration and temperature, whilst a keypad with a digital display shows setpoint and actual values. According to the RFI declaration, the unit is classified as Class A and is intended for commercial use; radio interference may occur in residential areas. The sound pressure level is below 70 dB(A) and the ultrasonic level below 105 dB, both measured with the basket and lid in place, which allows operation in laboratory rooms with multiple workstations without disruptive continuous noise, even during longer cleaning cycles.

Cleaning larger batches in practice

With 380 watts of effective power and a basket that holds up to 10 kilograms, larger components or entire series of samples can be cleaned in a single run, rather than processing several smaller batches one after the other. The degassing mode degasses the freshly prepared bath beforehand; with a volume of 27.5 litres, this takes longer than with a small benchtop unit, but is only required once per media change. The actual cleaning is then carried out by a combination of 37 kHz for coarse cleaning and 80 kHz for fine cleaning, controlled via autostart as soon as the target temperature is reached and the digital display confirms this.

Materials and maintenance for frequent use

The ultrasonic tank and housing are made of stainless steel and are designed to cope with the regular changeover of different aqueous cleaning media. Weighing 11.0 kilograms and with external dimensions of 568 x 340 x 321 mm, the P300H is a stationary unit that requires a permanent place on the worktop or a suitable base in the laboratory. The drain tap facilitates the change of cleaning media between batches as well as the regular cleaning of the bath itself, without having to move or lift it for this purpose.

Selection within the Elma series

For smaller sample volumes of up to 2.75 litres, the P 30H from the same series is the more compact alternative, featuring the same dual-frequency technology. Where a fixed frequency of 37 kHz is sufficient, the Select 300 or the Easy series from the same tank size class are the simpler options with a lower purchase price. We also offer Bandelin SONOREX ultrasonic baths for laboratories that already rely on this brand and do not require a dual-frequency function.

Typical applications

  • Industrial precision cleaning of larger components
  • Batch sample preparation for analytical and medical laboratories
  • Intensive cleaning at 37 kHz combined with precision cleaning at 80 kHz
  • Degassing of large quantities of freshly prepared cleaning media
