Elma Elmasonic Select 900 Ultrasonic Bath with Heating, 89 Litre, 37 kHz, 1108778

The Elma Elmasonic Select 900 has a tank of 600 x 500 x 285 mm. This gives 89 litres total volume, of which 63.7 litres are recommended as working volume. With lid the unit weighs 43.4 kg, filled 106.7 kg, a difference of 63.3 kg. The Select series cleans industrial components and parts and removes chips as well as residues of grinding and polishing pastes. This article is the version without noise-reduction lid, and Elma lists the version with noise-reduction lid under its own article number.

Dimensions and basket

The unit is filled to 200 mm, with 190 mm between the basket floor and the liquid level. The original accessory basket has internal dimensions of 545 x 460 x 190 mm and can be loaded with up to 36 kg, which is 11 kg more than the basket of the Select 500. The basket has 55 mm of clearance to the tank in length and 40 mm in depth. Externally the unit measures 875 x 595 x 505 mm with lid. The tank footprint is 600 x 500 mm, compared with 500 x 330 mm on the Select 500. That is 300,000 compared with 165,000 square millimetres, about 1.8 times.

Power at 37 kHz

The effective ultrasonic power is 960 W, and the peak power is 3,840 W. The heater delivers 2,000 W, and the total power consumption is 2,960 W. Eco, Sweep, Pulse, Dynamic and Degas can be selected, and settings are stored in four programs. Auto-Degas and the temperature-controlled start are part of the functions, and the duration ranges from 1 minute to 6 hours. Compared with the Select 500, that is 420 W more effective ultrasonic power and 400 W more heating power.

Drain and operation

The medium drains via a G 3/4 inch connection with ball valve, and the DN20 hose nozzle is part of the scope of delivery. The display with the swipe-type membrane keypad shows the settings, and inputs are confirmed acoustically. The setpoint temperature can be selected between 25 and 80 °C, and the limit temperature between 40 and 60 °C. The safety shutdown acts after 8 hours without operation. With lid, the sound pressure level at a distance of 1 m is below 80 dB(A) and the ultrasonic pressure level below 110 dB. Connection is via an IEC power connector, and the protection rating is IP20.

Select 900 compared

The Elmasonic Select 500 has 49.7 litres, 540 W effective ultrasonic power and 1,600 W heating power, at a unit weight of 30.4 kg. The Elmasonic Select 300 comes in at 27.5 litres with a tank of 475 x 270 x 195 mm. At 960 W effective ultrasonic power compared with 300 W on the Select 300, the factor is 3.2.
