Product information "IKA C-MAG HP 7, hotplate, with glass-ceramic worktop, 0003581800"
Thermal Process Technology and Material Resistance
The IKA C-MAG HP 7 hotplate is designed for thermal digestion and heating processes in demanding laboratory environments. At the heart of the system is the monolithic glass-ceramic work surface (vitroceramic), which is characterised by excellent chemical resistance to aggressive acids, bases and solvents. From a thermodynamic perspective, the vitreous ceramic offers a specific thermal conductivity that enables efficient energy transfer whilst maintaining a high mechanical surface finish. The housing is designed to protect the electronics from potential leaks, which significantly extends the service life of the unit in corrosive atmospheres.
Precise metrology and thermodynamic safety
The system is controlled via a digital display, which shows the setpoint temperature and allows precise adjustment of the thermal parameters. An integral part of the safety architecture is the fixed safety limit of 550 °C, which prevents thermal runaway. To minimise the risk of accidents after the heating process has been switched off, the device features a ‘Hot Top’ warning indicator, which remains active until the surface temperature has fallen below a safe range. The integrated interface in accordance with DIN 12878 allows the connection of an external contact thermometer (e.g. ETS-D5), enabling highly precise control of the medium temperature directly within the sample.

Customised requirements & accessories
For precise cybernetic control of the sample temperature, the use of an external resistance thermometer (PT 1000) or an electronic contact thermometer is essential to compensate for the thermal inertia of the glass-ceramic plate. We also recommend stainless steel stand components and appropriate mountings for chemically aggressive test set-ups. Please use our procurement service to configure your bespoke measurement setup.
