Product information "IKA C-MAG HS 7 digital magnetic stirrer with heating, chemical-resistant ceramic base, 0003487000"
The IKA C-MAG HS 7 digital magnetic stirrer with heating (MPN 0003487000) is a mechatronically advanced, mechanically robust and thermodynamically precise system solution for the simultaneous stirring and powerful temperature control of liquid media. Designed for a stirring volume of up to 10 litres of water, this core B2B instrument combines proven durability with a modern digital control system. In professional laboratories specialising in chemical synthesis, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, as well as in industrial test facilities, this safety magnetic stirrer with heating provides a reliable foundation for carrying out demanding routine processes and reproducible analytical runs with absolute process reliability.
Uncompromising chemical resistance thanks to a seamless glass-ceramic work surface
The material-science foundation of the stirring drive is the square, 180 x 180 mm work surface, which is manufactured from a single block of high-quality white glass-ceramic. Compared to conventional metal or plastic coatings, this non-porous ceramic matrix offers uncompromising chemical inertness against highly aggressive acids, alkalis, solvents and oxidising reagents. In addition to exceptional scratch resistance, the smooth surface allows for rapid, residue-free cleaning and wipe disinfection, which effectively prevents cross-contamination between transient test series. The material also withstands extremely high operating temperatures of up to 500 degrees Celsius whilst maintaining excellent thermal stability.
Precise digital temperature control and microprocessor-controlled kinetics
From a process engineering perspective, the digital version of the C-MAG HS 7 excels thanks to its outstanding control and operating architecture. The integrated, high-contrast digital LCD display enables laboratory staff to monitor and set the exact target temperature in real time without error. For high-precision temperature control directly within the liquid core of the sample, the instrument features a dedicated connection socket for the PT1000 temperature sensor included in the scope of delivery. The powerful motor covers a continuously variable speed range from 100 to 1,500 revolutions per minute and guarantees homogeneous mixing even in the event of transient changes in the viscosity of the medium.
Multi-stage protection architecture for unattended continuous operation
The operational reliability of the C-MAG HS 7 digital is underpinned by a sophisticated, multi-stage safety concept. A fixed safety circuit immediately and permanently switches off the powerful 1,000-watt heater in the event of an unexpected temperature rise above 550 degrees Celsius. Should a system fault occur, the microprocessor control system displays the relevant error codes directly on the screen. To protect laboratory staff from painful burns, a highly visible, optical residual heat indicator (Hot Top Indicator) warns of a hot surface until the ceramic plate has cooled to a safe temperature of below 50 degrees Celsius – even when the unit is completely switched off.
