Product information "IKA EUROSTAR 40 digital overhead stirrer with LCD display, up to 25 litres, 0020105155"
The IKA EUROSTAR 40 digital overhead stirrer (MPN 0020105155) represents the modernised, mechatronically optimised generation of universal laboratory stirrers for more demanding routine tasks in the higher viscosity range. With a footprint reduced by up to 23 per cent compared to previous models, this unit offers high functional density in a minimal space. Designed for a sample volume of up to 25 litres (based on water), the system reliably handles viscosities of up to 30,000 mPas. This makes it suitable for demanding mixing processes, homogenisation and reproducible test series in a professional B2B laboratory environment.
Within the EUROSTAR series, the Model 40 digital bridges the gap between the entry-level Model 20 digital and the high-volume Model 60 digital: With the same stirring capacity of 25 litres as the Model 20 digital, it processes significantly more viscous media up to 30,000 mPas thanks to its higher torque (60 instead of 40 Ncm).
Torque trend measurement for viscosity monitoring
A key feature of the digital series is the integrated torque trend measurement. The system detects changes in the viscosity of the medium with an accuracy of ±6 Ncm and displays the relative viscosity trend on the LCD screen. This enables laboratory staff to draw conclusions about the status of the mixing process. Thanks to automatic speed adjustment within a range of 30 to 2,000 revolutions per minute, the stirrer maintains the selected speed even when viscosity changes.
Ergonomic tool change and occupational safety
The EUROSTAR 40 digital is designed for user-friendliness and process reliability in continuous operation. The integrated quick-release chuck allows one-handed changing of stirring tools without the need for additional tools. A lock button protects the system from accidental parameter changes whilst it is running. In the event of overload or blockage of the stirring element, independent safety circuits trigger an automatic shut-off.
Connectivity and robust housing design
With USB-C and RS232 interfaces, the overhead stirrer can be connected to a PC and controlled and documented via the labworldsoft laboratory software. The housing, made from coated die-cast aluminium and robust thermoplastic, meets protection class IP 54. The brushless DC motor operates with virtually no wear, is quiet (52 dBA) and is designed for a 100 per cent duty cycle in continuous operation.
Typical applications
- Homogenisation of viscous media up to 30,000 mPas, for which the Model 20 digital no longer provides sufficient torque
- Mixing and dispersing in containers of up to 25 litres with increased viscosity, such as creams, gels or adhesive formulations
- Reproducible test series in research and quality control at a constant speed, even with viscous formulations
- Routine laboratory operation where greater stirring power is required without a larger footprint
