Product information "IKA R 1330 Anchor Stirrer, Ø 45 mm, Length 350 mm, for EUROSTAR and RW 20, 0002022300"
The IKA R 1330 anchor stirrer (MPN 0002022300) is a stirring element made of stainless steel 1.4571 for overhead stirrers. It has a stirrer diameter of 45 mm and a shaft with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 350 mm. It is intended for medium to highly viscous media that are stirred at low speeds, up to a maximum of 1,000 rpm.
A polymer batch that sits thick in the vessel, or a mixture with a high mineral content that is to stay evenly distributed: the R 1330 is intended for tasks like these.
Tangential flow of the anchor stirrer with a high shear rate at the edge
The anchor stirrer moves the medium tangentially, that is, in the circumferential direction around the stirrer axis, and not axially like a propeller stirrer. The shear rate is high at the edge of the stirrer, and few deposits are left on the vessel wall. With viscous batches this matters, because material on the wall is withdrawn from the mixing process.
It is used at low speeds. The stirrer diameter of 45 mm determines the minimum width of the opening of the stirring vessel.
Typical applications
- Homogenising medium to highly viscous liquids in the laboratory
- Stirring in polymer reactions
- Evenly distributing high mineral content in liquids
- Batches where little material should be deposited on the vessel wall
- Working at low speeds on an overhead stirrer
Suitable for IKA overhead stirrers with an 8 mm chuck
The shaft with a diameter of 8 mm fits into chucks for an 8 mm shaft. These include the IKA overhead stirrers EUROSTAR 20, 40, 60, 100, 200 and 400 (digital and control), RW 20 digital as well as MINISTAR, MICROSTAR and NANOSTAR. At LT Laborhandel you will find EUROSTAR 20, 40, 60, 100, 200 and 400 digital, RW 20 digital, MINISTAR 20, 40 and 80 digital, MICROSTAR 7.5 digital and NANOSTAR 7.5 digital.
Whether a stirrer drives the anchor stirrer safely in your medium depends on the viscosity and on the torque of the stirrer. The more viscous the batch, the more torque is required. Therefore check before purchase whether your device is sufficient for your batch and whether the chuck accepts a shaft of 8 mm.
Material
The wetted parts of the R 1330 are made of stainless steel 1.4571. The weight of the stirrer is 0.151 kg.

With a mixing capacity of 100 l and a torque of 200 Ncm, the EUROSTAR 200 digital forms part of IKA’s classic range, which has been tried and tested for many years and continues to be manufactured alongside the newer digital LCD generation. Instead of an LCD display, a 7-segment LED display shows the speed; two switchable speed ranges cover both low-speed, high-torque applications and rapid stirring of thinner media. For anyone looking for a robust, straightforward agitator without additional electronics, the EUROSTAR 200 digital is the right choice. It shares the motor, gearbox and base housing with the EUROSTAR 200 control and can be swapped for the better-equipped model at any time if required, without altering the stability on the stand. Two speed ranges for two tasksIn Range I, the stirrer delivers a torque of up to 200 Ncm at speeds between 6 and 400 rpm, suitable for viscous media and large stirring tools. In range II, the speed increases to up to 2,000 rpm, whilst the torque drops to a maximum of 40 Ncm, making it suitable for low-viscosity samples that require rapid stirring rather than high torque. The microprocessor-controlled system maintains the set speed constantly, even if the viscosity of the sample changes during the stirring process. According to the manufacturer, viscosities of up to 100,000 mPas are possible.Mechanics and connectionThe brushless DC motor draws 130 watts and delivers up to 84 watts to the stirring shaft. Stirring shafts are mounted via a 10 mm diameter plug-in coupling and a collet chuck ranging from 0.5 to 10 mm; the hollow shaft, with an internal diameter of 10.3 mm, can be inserted whilst the unit is stationary. With an IP 42 rating, the degree of protection is lower than that of the newer digital LCD models, but this is sufficient for standard laboratory use. An electronic safety circuit cuts off power in the event of a fault or overload, and an error code is displayed directly on the screen. The unit is also available in voltage versions of 100 to 115 V and 100 V, which is useful for locations outside the European 230 V mains supply or for replacing an older stirrer on the same circuit.Typical applicationsPowerful stirring of viscous media up to 100 l in Zone IRapid stirring of low-viscosity samples up to 2,000 rpm in range IIRobust continuous operation without display electronics or additional wireless functionsMixing processes with viscosities up to 100,000 mPasSelection guide: the EUROSTAR series at a glanceSix EUROSTAR models make up IKA’s current range. One hundred litres of water and a peak torque of 200 Ncm elevate the EUROSTAR 100 digital into a performance class intended for larger-scale applications in pilot plants or process development. The housing shares the platform with the smaller EUROSTAR 20 digital; the same compact design here houses a significantly more powerful brushless motor. The LCD display shows speed, the timer and a torque trend; the device can be connected to labworldsoft via USB-C and RS232.Torque: peak value and continuous operationAccording to the manufacturer, the maximum torque of the EUROSTAR 100 digital is 200 Ncm; this value applies to short-term acceleration at 30 to 600 rpm for up to 20 minutes. In continuous operation between 600 and 1,300 rpm, the usable torque ranges from 120 to 100 Ncm; at speeds between 1,300 and 2,000 rpm, it drops further to 100 to 60 Ncm. Anyone stirring highly viscous media up to 70,000 mPas on a continuous basis should therefore base their calculations on the lower continuous value; the peak value is available for brief load peaks during start-up. The brushless DC motor draws 186 watts and delivers up to 136 watts to the stirring shaft.Operation and interfacesThe speed ranges from 30 to 2,000 revolutions per minute and can be adjusted continuously with an accuracy of ±1 rpm. The Quick Sense Keyless Chuck handles tool changes without a chuck key; stirring shafts from 0.5 to 10 mm fit into the chuck. The hollow shaft, with an internal diameter of 11 mm, can be inserted whilst the machine is stationary. With a noise level of 52 dB(A) without a mixing tool, the unit achieves ISO cleanroom class 7 at 900 rpm and class 8 at 1,800 rpm. The housing, made of coated cast aluminium and thermoplastic, is protected against dust and splashing water to IP 54; a lock button and automatic shut-off in the event of a blockage or when the torque limit is reached round off the safety features.Typical applicationsStirring large batches of up to 100 l in pilot plants and process developmentHigh-viscosity media up to 70,000 mPas in continuous operationStarting up viscous formulations with a brief increase in torqueMixing processes in ISO Class 7 or 8 cleanroomsSelection guide: the EUROSTAR series at a glanceSix EUROSTAR models make up IKA’s current range: ‘digital’ versions with LCD or LED displays, and ‘control’ versions with a detachable WiCo controller, TFT display and PT1000 temperature measurement. Designed for sample volumes of up to 60 litres (based on water), the system handles viscosities of up to 50,000 mPas with complete reliability. It thus offers the ideal process engineering solution for standardised mixing processes, homogenisation and reproducible test series in a professional B2B laboratory environment. Innovative torque trend measurement for viscosity monitoring An outstanding metrological feature of the digital series is the integrated torque trend measurement. The system records transient changes in the medium’s viscosity with a precision of ±6 Ncm and displays the relative viscosity trend directly on the clear LCD display. This provides laboratory staff with valuable insights into the current state of the mixing process at all times. Thanks to a sophisticated automatic speed adjustment system covering a wide range from 30 to 2000 revolutions per minute, the stirrer maintains the selected speed absolutely constant even during transient changes in viscosity, thereby ensuring error-free results. Ergonomic tool change and high operational safety From a process engineering perspective, the EUROSTAR 60 digital is consistently designed for maximum user-friendliness and process reliability in daily continuous operation. The integrated quick-release chuck allows the user to change stirring tools comfortably with one hand, without the need for any additional tools. A dedicated lock button protects the running system from accidental parameter changes by the user. To reliably prevent mechanical damage or hazardous situations, the stirring drive features autonomous safety circuits which trigger an immediate automatic shutdown in the event of an overload or blockage of the stirring element. Future-proof connectivity and robust housing design The system’s infrastructure architecture enables straightforward integration into digitised laboratory workstations. Equipped with standard USB-C and RS232 interfaces, the overhead stirrer can be seamlessly connected to a PC and fully controlled and comprehensively documented via the labworldsoft laboratory software ®. The mechanically robust housing consists of a combination of coated die-cast aluminium and sturdy thermoplastic, which meets the demanding IP 54 protection rating. The brushless DC motor operates virtually wear-free, whisper-quiet (52 dBA) and absolutely clean, meaning the system is fully qualified for a 100 per cent duty cycle in continuous operation. With a mixing capacity of 150 l and a torque of 400 Ncm, the EUROSTAR 400 digital is the most powerful digital model in the classic EUROSTAR series, designed for pilot plants and large batches involving viscous to highly viscous media. The larger chuck, wider housing and more powerful motor clearly distinguish this unit from the smaller EUROSTAR 200 models, whilst the operating logic, featuring two speed ranges and a 7-segment LED display, remains the same. Anyone who regularly runs batches of over 100 l or works with viscous, high-viscosity formulations will find this to be the most powerful version available without additional wireless functions.Power for large batchesIn low-speed range I, the mixer delivers up to 400 Ncm of torque at speeds between 6 and 400 rpm; in the faster range II, the speed reaches up to 2,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 80 Ncm. According to the manufacturer, viscosities of up to 100,000 mPas are possible; the brushless DC motor draws 220 watts and delivers up to 176 watts to the stirring shaft. The chuck accommodates stirring shafts with diameters ranging from 3 to 16 mm, significantly more than the smaller models in the series, to suit the larger stirring tools used with batch sizes of 150 l. The speed can be adjusted continuously with an accuracy of ±1 rpm; the digital LED display shows the current value directly on the unit.Design and connectionMeasuring 114 x 325 x 245 mm and weighing 8.4 kg, the unit is noticeably larger and heavier than the 200 series models; a correspondingly sturdy stand with a 16 mm arm diameter is therefore essential. The hollow shaft, with an internal diameter of 10.3 mm, can be inserted whilst the unit is stationary; the housing, made of coated cast aluminium and thermoplastic, is protected against foreign bodies larger than 1 mm and dripping water when tilted up to 15° in accordance with IP 42. An electronic safety circuit cuts off the power in the event of a fault or overload; additional voltage variants of 115 V and 100 V are available for locations outside the 230 V mains supply. The 16 mm extension arm is shorter than that of the 200 series models; however, whilst having the same diameter, it supports the greater weight of the larger stirring shafts and tools more stably on the stand.Typical applicationsStirring large batches of up to 150 l in pilot plants and technical centresPowerful mixing of viscous to highly viscous media up to 100,000 mPasRapid stirring of thinner samples in the higher-speed range IIContinuous operation with larger stirring tools from 3 mm shaft diameterUpgrading from a 200-series model as batch volumes increaseSelection guide: the EUROSTAR series at a glanceSix EUROSTAR models make up IKA’s current range; the EUROSTAR 400 digital, together with its ‘control’ counterpart, represents the highest performance tier. Twenty-five litres of water at a torque of 40 Ncm characterise the lowest power setting of IKA’s current EUROSTAR digital generation. According to the manufacturer, the compact housing requires up to 23 per cent less floor space than its predecessors, whilst the LCD display shows speed, the timer and a torque trend simultaneously. For standard laboratories that regularly stir small to medium-sized batches and require cleanroom compatibility, the EUROSTAR 20 digital is the entry-level model in the range. The electronics are microprocessor-controlled and maintain the set speed even if the viscosity of the sample changes during the stirring process.Mechanics and tool changeThe brushless DC motor draws 70 watts and delivers up to 22 watts to the stirring shaft, with a duty cycle of 100 per cent in continuous operation. The speed ranges from 30 to 2,000 revolutions per minute; the maximum torque of 40 Ncm decreases linearly to 20 Ncm at higher speeds. This performance is therefore sufficient for samples up to 10,000 mPas. The Quick Sense Keyless Chuck replaces the traditional chuck key; stirring shafts from 0.5 to 10 mm can be changed with one hand. The hollow shaft, with an internal diameter of 11 mm, can be inserted whilst the unit is stationary, which is practical for stirring elements that are inserted from above.Cleanroom-compatible and protectedWith a noise level of 52 dB(A) without a stirring tool, the EUROSTAR 20 digital achieves ISO cleanroom class 7 at 900 rpm and class 8 at 1,800 rpm, which is relevant for pharmaceutical, biotech and electronics laboratories. The housing, made of coated cast aluminium and thermoplastic, is chemical-resistant and protected against dust and splashing water in accordance with IP 54. A lock button prevents accidental adjustment during cleaning; the unit switches off automatically if the stirring tool becomes blocked or when the torque limit is reached. USB-C and RS232 interfaces connect the stirrer to IKA’s labworldsoft, the measurement and control software that allows speed and time profiles to be documented.Typical applicationsHomogenisation of small to medium batches up to 25 lStirring of low- to medium-viscosity samples in Class 7 or 8 cleanroomsMixing tasks in research and development with documented speed curvesRoutine laboratory work involving frequent tool changes without the need for a chuck keySelection guide: the EUROSTAR series at a glanceSix EUROSTAR models make up IKA’s current range: ‘digital’ versions with LCD or LED displays, and ‘control’ versions with a detachable WiCo controller, TFT display and PT1000 temperature measurement. Maximum power for viscous media: IKA EUROSTAR 200 P4 control The IKA EUROSTAR 200 P4 control (MPN 0004090000) is an extremely powerful laboratory stirrer designed for applications that push conventional stirrers to their limits. Where other motors overheat or seize up, the P4 is only just getting started: thanks to a special reduction gearbox, it converts speed into pure torque. With 660 Ncm, it is ideally suited for processing highly viscous substances such as adhesives, polymers, pastes or paints with a viscosity of up to 150,000 mPas. Wireless Control (WiCo): Safety from a distance Like all models in the “control” series, the EUROSTAR 200 P4 also features the detachable WiCo (Wireless Controller) control unit. Remote control: Control and monitor the stirrer wirelessly from a distance of up to 10 metres. This is ideal when the unit is located in a fume cupboard or when working with hazardous vapours. Process monitoring: The TFT display shows not only the speed but also the current torque. Changes in the sample’s viscosity are thus immediately visible. Smart functions for the Laboratory 4.0 Torque trend measurement: Record relative changes in viscosity over time. Interfaces: The instrument can be connected to a PC via USB and RS 232. Using the labworldsoft software (®), you can programme and document complex test sequences. Temperature measurement: A connection for a PT 1000 temperature sensor is integrated. This allows you to ensure that your temperature-sensitive samples do not overheat (limit values can be set). Powerful, yet controlled Despite its enormous power, the brushless motor operates quietly and requires no maintenance. The speed can be continuously adjusted from 4 to 530 rpm – the focus here is clearly on power in the low-speed range, not on high speed. An electronic safety cut-out protects the motor in the event of overload or blockage. Areas of application Polymer synthesis: Stirring of viscous melts. Building materials industry: Mixing mortar or cement samples on a laboratory scale. Cosmetics: Production of highly viscous creams and pastes. Adhesive development: Homogenisation of resins. Promotional item of the IKA Specials Q4/2026, valid until 31 December 2026. The struck-through price is IKA's recommended retail price. Our promotional price is net.The IKA RW 20 digital stirrer (MPN 0003593000) is the digital further development of the proven RW 20 series and combines a mechanically controlled drive with an LED digital display for the speed. Anyone who regularly has to move stirring volumes of up to 20 litres of water in the laboratory and wants to switch between powerful, low-speed and fast, high-speed stirring will find a robust working tool for daily use here.Mechanical gearbox with two speed rangesThe RW 20 digital has a gearbox with two speed ranges that is switched manually by lever. Range I covers 60 to 500 rpm and delivers a high torque of up to 150 Ncm at the stirring shaft, suitable for highly viscous media of up to 10,000 mPas, pastes or larger volumes. Range II extends from 240 to 2,000 rpm and is suitable for low-viscosity media and fast dispersing. At a mains frequency of 50 hertz, the ranges are 60 to 500 rpm (range I) and 240 to 2,000 rpm (range II), and at 60 hertz correspondingly 72 to 600 rpm and 288 to 2,400 rpm. The maximum torque at the stirring shaft is 150 Ncm at 100 rpm and falls to 24 Ncm at 1,000 rpm; for a short time, an overload of up to 300 Ncm is even permissible at 60 1/min.Precision through LED digital displayWhile power transmission is mechanical, the integrated LED digital display on the front of the unit ensures a speed that can be read at any time and is reproducible. Setting is continuous, the setting accuracy is ±1 rpm, and the deviation of the speed measurement is ±30 rpm. The nominal torque of the drive is 1.5 Nm at a power consumption of 70 watts and an output power of 35 watts. The unit is designed for continuous operation at 100 percent duty cycle.Pass-through hollow shaft for flexible height adjustmentA practical detail in everyday laboratory work is the pass-through stirring shaft (hollow shaft) with an internal diameter of 10.5 millimetres. It makes it possible to adjust the height of the stirring tool in the chuck (clamping range 0.5 to 10 millimetres) without having to realign the entire stirrer on the stand. The shaft is adjusted at standstill only. The boss rod for mounting on the stand has a diameter of 13 millimetres and a length of 160 millimetres.Typical applicationsWith its high torque in the lower speed range and a stirring volume of up to 20 litres, the RW 20 digital is technically suited for:Universal stirring tasks in the laboratory with changing batch sizesHomogenising and dispersing medium-viscosity to higher-viscosity media of up to 10,000 mPasTeaching and industrial laboratories with frequently changing usersRoutine operation in which it is necessary to switch between powerful and fast stirringSelection guide: stirring mechanically or electronicallyWithin the IKA stirrer range, the RW 20 digital described here, with its mechanically controlled drive, is contrasted by the compact NANOSTAR 7.5 digital with electronic BLDC control. For stirring volumes of up to 20 litres, high torque in the lower speed range and robust continuous operation, the RW 20 digital is the right choice. If, on the other hand, no more than 5 litres are moved and a particularly compact, electronically controlled design is required, for example in tight space conditions in a fume hood, the NANOSTAR 7.5 digital is the more space-saving alternative.Differences from larger models of the RW seriesIf a stirring volume of 20 litres is not sufficient for the planned batch, IKA continues the mechanical RW series in larger sizes: the RW 28 digital for stirring volumes of up to 80 litres and the RW 47 digital for stirring volumes of up to 200 litres. For the majority of laboratory applications with batches of up to 20 litres, the RW 20 digital described here remains the more compact and more economical choice.Technical detailsMax. stirring volume (H2O)20 lMax. viscosity10,000 mPasSpeed controlmechanicalSpeed range I / II60 to 500 rpm / 240 to 2,000 rpm (at 50 Hz)Speed range I / II (60 Hz)72 to 600 rpm / 288 to 2,400 rpmSpeed setting methodcontinuousSetting accuracy / speed deviation±1 rpm / ±30 rpmSpeed displayLEDMotor power, input / output70 W / 35 WNominal torque1.5 NmMax. torque at the stirring shaft150 Ncm (at 100 rpm), 300 Ncm overload at 60 1/minTorque at the stirring shaft at 1,000 rpm24 NcmMax. power at the stirring shaft26 WPermissible duty cycle100 %Stirring tool mountingChuck, clamping range 0.5 to 10 mmHollow shaft, internal diameter10.5 mm, pass-through at standstillStand mountingBoss rod, Ø 13 mm, length 160 mmProtection classIP 20 according to DIN EN 60529Dimensions (W x H x D)88 x 294 x 212 mmWeight3.1 kgConnection values220 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, 72 W (other voltage variants 100 to 115 V available)Scope of delivery1 x RW 20 digital1 x chuck keyA stand and a cross clamp for mounting as well as a suitable stirring tool are required for operation but are not included in the scope of delivery.Use, installation, maintenance and disposalAccording to protection class IP 20, the RW 20 digital is protected against solid foreign objects from 12.5 millimetres, and contact with splashing water must be avoided. The switching lever for the two speed ranges should only be operated with the motor stopped, as should the height adjustment of the pass-through hollow shaft in the chuck. For a secure stand, a sufficiently heavy stand with a stable cross clamp is recommended, especially when using the high torque in the lower speed range. At the end of its service life, the unit as electrical equipment does not belong in household waste but in the separate collection of waste electrical equipment.Individual requirements & procurement serviceOperating the RW 20 digital requires a stand (for example an IKA base plate stand), a suitable cross clamp and a stirring tool matched to the application, for example propeller, turbine, anchor or dissolver stirrers. Mixing small volumes at high speed without a batch foaming up or remaining uneven: that is the core task of the IKA MICROSTAR 7.5 digital. The overhead stirrer covers stirring volumes of up to 5 litres of water per stirring position and turns at up to 2,000 revolutions per minute, with a maximum torque of 7.5 Ncm at the stirring shaft. For cell culture batches, analytical sample preparation and small reagent batches in the routine laboratory, exactly this combination of speed and small footprint is in demand.Speed reserve for low-viscosity mediaThe speed range starts at 50 rpm and extends up to 2,000 rpm, adjustable via a rotary knob with an accuracy of ±1 rpm. Up to a viscosity of 4,000 mPas, the torque remains constant over the entire range, so the unit does not noticeably drop off with thicker media. The motor power is 32 watts input and 22 watts output, and a maximum of 15.7 watts is available at the stirring shaft. For aqueous solutions, buffers and low-viscosity reagents in the laboratory, this power class is usually sufficient.Operation, display and connectionThe speed is shown on an LED display, and the digital model has no timer. The hollow shaft with an internal diameter of 8.5 mm can be passed through at standstill, and the chuck accepts tools from 0.5 to 8.2 mm. The firmware can be updated via the Micro-USB interface. At 60 x 173 x 126 mm (W x H x D) and 1.18 kg, the stirrer takes up little space on the laboratory bench, and it is mounted on a stand using a boss rod of 13 mm diameter and 160 mm length. The IKA MINISTAR 40 digital overhead stirrer represents a highly optimised, space-saving mechatronic system solution for the professional mixing, homogenisation and suspension of liquid sample media in day-to-day laboratory work. Designed as an ultra-compact powerhouse, this electronic laboratory stirrer combines impressive power density with minimal space requirements. In intensive fluid-mechanical processes within chemical research, pharmaceutical development or biotechnological analysis, maintaining an absolutely constant speed despite varying viscosities is the primary criterion for guaranteeing reproducible reaction conditions in a way that is gentle on the material and ensures process reliability. Intelligent torque compensation in the smallest of spaces The process engineering foundation of the MINISTAR 40 digital is based on a microprocessor-controlled high-end drive that delivers a maximum torque of up to 40 Ncm. Despite its compact design, the stirrer effortlessly handles working volumes of up to 25 litres (based on water) and covers a wide viscosity range of up to 30,000 mPas. An outstanding functional feature is the integrated transient speed control: in the event of rheological changes in the medium during a synthesis – for example, due to polymerisation or crystallisation – the electronics adjust the power supply in real time to maintain the preset speed of up to 2,000 revolutions per minute at a perfectly constant level. Ergonomic glass interface and intuitive operation The materials-science-based design of the user interface sets new standards in terms of hygiene and durability. The stirrer is fitted with a high-quality, continuous glass front, which is operated via integrated, touch-sensitive keys. This non-porous surface offers universal chemical resistance to aggressive solvents, acids and alkalis, and can be cleaned gently and without leaving any residue. A high-contrast digital display shows the exact rotational speed and the transient torque trend. The latter enables laboratory staff to monitor changes in the sample’s viscosity directly and precisely, without the need for additional rheology measuring instruments. Future-proof connectivity and comprehensive health and safety The infrastructure architecture of the MINISTAR 40 digital is consistently geared towards the requirements of modern, digitised laboratory set-ups. Firmware updates can be carried out quickly and easily via an integrated USB interface, ensuring that the system’s control software is always up to date. Comprehensive safety peripherals ensure maximum occupational safety during demanding continuous operation: in the event of a blockage of the stirring mechanism or critical thermal overload, the integrated overload protection safely shuts down the motor. A practical key-lock function also prevents the accidental alteration of process parameters during ongoing test series. Anyone who has to stir a batch volume of 20 litres with media of up to 20,000 mPas viscosity needs more torque than speed. The IKA MICROSTAR 30 digital delivers up to 30 Ncm at the stirring shaft at a speed range of 50 to 500 rpm, making it the highest-torque version of the MICROSTAR series.Constant torque at lower speedThe speed range only extends up to 500 rpm, but in return the torque remains constant up to 20,000 mPas viscosity, considerably more than the MICROSTAR 15 digital with 8,000 mPas. The motor power is unchanged at 32 watts input and 22 watts output, and the nominal torque rises to 0.3 Nm. For thicker suspensions, pastes and higher-viscosity reaction batches in the laboratory, the MICROSTAR 30 digital is the right choice within the MICROSTAR range.Same design, more powerExternally, the MICROSTAR 30 digital differs hardly at all from its smaller siblings: 60 x 173 x 126 mm, 1.26 kg weight, boss rod mounting with 13 mm diameter and 160 mm length. The stirring tool is attached via a chuck with a clamping range of 0.5 to 8.2 mm, and the hollow shaft with an internal diameter of 8.5 mm can be passed through at standstill. Protection class IP 54 and the ambient temperature range of 5 to 40 °C apply as for all digital models of the series.Stirring elements for higher viscosityFor higher-viscosity batches, the accessories range offers above all anchor and helical stirrers, which engage the medium closer to the vessel wall than a simple propeller stirrer. For the MICROSTAR series, the helical stirrer R 3003 and the anchor stirrers R 1330 and R 1331 are available, among others. In addition, LT Laborhandel carries base plate stands, telescopic stands and cross clamps for mounting, as well as a separate stirring shaft guard R 301 with stand holder for personal protection at an open vessel. When the batch volume rises above 10 litres or a stirrer is to run permanently with a higher power reserve, you switch from the MICROSTAR to the MINISTAR series. The IKA MINISTAR 20 digital is the entry into this class: 60 watts motor input power, a stirring volume of up to 15 litres of water per stirring position and a speed range of 50 to 2,000 rpm at a maximum torque of 20 Ncm.More motor power than MICROSTARWith 60 watts input and 46 watts output power, the motor is almost twice as powerful as in the MICROSTAR series, and up to 42 watts are available at the stirring shaft. Up to a viscosity of 10,000 mPas, the torque remains constant. This power reserve is noticeable above all in continuous operation, when a stirrer runs under load over longer periods, for example in continuous processes in the pilot laboratory.Larger housing, same operating logicAt 70 x 193 x 147 mm and 1.56 kg, the MINISTAR 20 digital is noticeably larger and heavier than the MICROSTAR models. Operation and display remain the same: set the speed by rotary knob, the LED display shows the value, and a chuck with a clamping range of 0.5 to 8.2 mm holds the stirring tools. The current consumption rises to 2,900 mA, corresponding to the higher motor power. For batches in plastic vessels, an anchor stirrer with beaker scraper is also available for this series.Further accessories for the MINISTAR seriesIn addition to the anchor stirrer with beaker scraper, the accessories range for this series includes dissolver and disc stirrers for higher shear forces as well as telescopic and base plate stands for mounting. Anyone working with weighing can also use a matching balance stand. For personal protection at an open vessel, a separately available stirring shaft guard R 301 with its own stand holder is available in addition to the supplied R 300.Typical applicationsEntry to larger batch volumes from 15 litresContinuous operation in the pilot laboratory with increased power reserveProcesses with medium viscosity up to 10,000 mPasTransition from laboratory to pilot plant scaleSelection guide: MICROSTAR and MINISTAR at a glanceThe MINISTAR 20 digital is the entry-level model of the MINISTAR line, with the same stirring volume as the MICROSTAR 15 digital but almost twice the motor power. In everyday laboratory work the highest speed is rarely what is needed, but rather reliable stirring performance for batches between 5 and 10 litres at medium viscosity. The IKA MICROSTAR 15 digital covers exactly this window with a torque of up to 15 Ncm and a stirring volume of up to 10 litres of water per stirring position, at a speed range of 50 to 1,000 rpm. The overhead stirrer is thus the middle model of the MICROSTAR series, between the faster MICROSTAR 7.5 and the higher-torque MICROSTAR 30.Stirring performance up to 8,000 mPasUp to a viscosity of 8,000 mPas, the unit keeps its torque constant over the entire speed range. Besides aqueous solutions, this allows mixing of medium-viscosity media such as creams, emulsions or reaction mixtures of increasing consistency. The motor power of 32 watts input and 22 watts output is identical to the smaller MICROSTAR 7.5 digital, and the higher torque of 15 Ncm results from the gearing, not from a stronger motor.Design and operationAt 60 x 173 x 126 mm and 1.26 kg, the MICROSTAR 15 digital differs hardly at all in appearance from the MICROSTAR 7.5 digital, and its weight is only 80 grams higher. The speed is set by rotary knob with ±1 rpm accuracy and shown on an LED display. The chuck with a clamping range of 0.5 to 8.2 mm, the hollow shaft with an internal diameter of 8.5 mm and protection class IP 54 correspond to the rest of the digital series. The unit is mounted on a stand using a boss rod of 13 mm diameter and 160 mm length.Accessories from the current rangeFor different stirring tasks, stirring elements with axial, radial and tangential flow direction are available from the accessories range of the series, from simple propeller stirrers to anchor and disc stirrers. In addition, LT Laborhandel carries base plate stands, telescopic stands and cross clamps for mounting, as well as a separate stirring shaft guard R 301 with its own stand holder for personal protection at an open vessel, in addition to the R 300 included in the scope of delivery.Typical applicationsMixing batches of up to 10 litres in the standard laboratoryStirring creams, emulsions and reaction mixtures of medium viscosityRoutine testing in quality control and goods receivingPreparing reagents and test solutions for downstream analyticsSelection guide: MICROSTAR and MINISTAR at a glanceWithin the MICROSTAR line, the MICROSTAR 15 digital sits in the middle performance class, between the faster 7.5 and the higher-torque 30. Miniaturisation in stirring technology without any loss of performance In microchemical synthesis, parallel sample preparation and when working under very confined fume cupboards, the physical space required by laboratory instruments is a limiting factor. The IKA NANOSTAR 7.5 digital stirrer completely redefines the geometric limits of overhead stirrers. Despite its extreme compactness (the housing is barely larger than an apple), the unit delivers uncompromising mechanical performance. It is designed, in terms of both fluid dynamics and motor performance, to powerfully homogenise, disperse or dissolve media with a volume of up to 5 litres (based on the physical viscosity of H₂O). The device combines a minimal footprint with exceptional stability and lowers the centre of gravity in the laboratory setup, which significantly reduces the risk of tipping in complex stand configurations. Rheological control via brushless BLDC technology The breakdown of agglomerates or the uniform mixing of emulsions requires a high, continuous torque. The thermodynamic and kinetic heart of the NANOSTAR 7.5 digital is a state-of-the-art, brushless DC motor (BLDC technology). This wear-free and virtually maintenance-free drive generates a constant torque of 7.5 Ncm at the stirring shaft. The critical process advantage is this: if the rheological properties of the fluid change during the chemical reaction (for example, due to a drastic increase in viscosity during polymerisation or a drop in temperature), the integrated microprocessor electronically adjusts the power consumption in a fraction of a second. The set rotational speed, within the range of 50 to 2,000 revolutions per minute, is maintained at a precisely constant level, which prevents uncontrolled flow disruption and guarantees absolute reproducibility. The maximum dynamic viscosity of the medium may be up to 4,000 mPa·s. Smart ergonomics: hollow shaft and chemical-resistant sensors When changing mixing vessels or dealing with varying fill levels, the mixing element (propeller, anchor or dissolver disc) often needs to be adjusted axially in height. The NANOSTAR 7.5 digital is designed with a continuous hollow shaft. This engineering ingenuity allows the user to simply slide the shaft of the stirring tool through the motor housing. This completely eliminates the tedious and error-prone task of cutting expensive stainless steel stirring shafts to length. The drive is operated via a capacitive touch slider on a bright LED glass display. Unlike mechanical push-buttons or rotary potentiometers, the continuous real-glass front panel has no gaps whatsoever. It is extremely resistant to aggressive organic solvents, acid vapours and alkalis, and can be thoroughly and safely decontaminated as part of a GLP-compliant (Good Laboratory Practice) routine. Safety architecture and digital system integration For unattended continuous operation in automated analysis lines, an overhead stirrer must ensure maximum safety (Occupational Health and Safety). The housing of the NANOSTAR 7.5 digital is sealed to the high IP 54 protection rating. This effectively protects the sensitive power electronics and the motor block against the ingress of fine dust and splashing water from all directions. An electronic overload and overtemperature protection system automatically shuts down the motor immediately in the event of a physical blockage of the stirring mechanism, thereby preventing a motor fire. The rear of the unit is fitted with a USB interface. This not only enables future firmware updates to be installed effortlessly, but also allows tamper-proof control and comprehensive data documentation of torque trends via laboratory software solutions such as IKA labworldsoft. Technical details Max. stirring volume (H₂O): 5 litres Max. dynamic viscosity of the medium: 4,000 mPa·s Max. torque at the stirring shaft: 7.5 Ncm Speed range: 50 – 2,000 rpm (electronically continuously variable) Drive technology: Brushless DC motor (maintenance-free BLDC drive) Speed stability: Microprocessor-controlled readjustment in response to changes in viscosity Speed display: Digital LED display with glass front Control interface: Capacitive touch interface (touch slider) Hollow shaft: Yes (stirring tools can be inserted all the way through) Max. internal diameter of the hollow shaft: 5.5 mm Interfaces: USB (for PC control and firmware updates) Mounting type: Integrated tripod arm (arm diameter 13 mm) Motor protection: Electronic overload and overtemperature protection Dimensions (W x H x D): 53 x 147 x 130 mm Weight: 0.8 kg Protection class (to DIN EN 60529): IP 54 (protection against dust and water splashes from all directions) Permissible ambient temperature: 5 – 40 °C (at max. 80% relative humidity) Mains voltage / frequency: 100 – 240 V, 50/60 Hz Contents of delivery 1 x IKA NANOSTAR 7.5 digital stirrer (drive unit) 1 x chuck key 1 x USB A-B cable for digital data transfer 1 x Compact mains power supply (including country-specific adaptor) 1 x Comprehensive operating instructions (Important note: The essential mixing tool, a cross-sleeve and the floor stand are not included in the scope of delivery!) Individual requirements & accessories The NANOSTAR 7.5 digital is a drive motor only. To achieve optimal mixing in terms of fluid dynamics in your beaker or reaction vessel, you must use a stirring element precisely matched to the sample (propeller, centrifugal or anchor stirrer from the IKA R-series). To ensure the motor is secured to the stand arm in a completely safe and vibration-free manner, we also recommend a robust IKA plate stand in combination with the appropriate cross-sleeve. Our procurement service, which specialises in process engineering, will be happy to configure the physically optimal stirring setup for your laboratory.
Five litres of water at a torque of 7.5 Ncm mark the smallest power level of the IKA MICROSTAR control series, but in return the stirrer turns at up to 2,000 revolutions per minute, faster than any other model in this family. For low- to medium-viscosity samples of up to 4,000 mPas, such as buffers, aqueous solutions or low-viscosity emulsions, the MICROSTAR 7.5 control is the right choice when speed matters more than volume.LCD display instead of indicator lightThe difference from the digital series of the same power class lies above all in the display and the additional functions. The MICROSTAR 7.5 control shows speed, time and temperature on a glass display in LCD technology, supplemented by a timer from 0 to 6,000 minutes. Using the supplied stainless steel temperature sensor H 67.60, the unit measures the sample temperature between -10 and 350 degrees Celsius and shows it directly on the display, an external PT1000 measurement that the digital models lack entirely. In addition, a torque display runs on the screen, although only as a trend and not as a calibrated absolute measurement, helpful for roughly detecting a change in the viscosity of the sample during a stirring series. Micro-USB and an integrated WPAN interface (Bluetooth) connect the stirrer to labworldsoft, IKA's measurement and control software.Mechanics for daily changeoverThe unit is held on the stand by a boss rod with 13 mm diameter and 160 mm length, and the chuck accepts stirring shafts from 0.5 to 8.2 mm and can be changed with the supplied chuck key. The hollow shaft with an internal diameter of 8.5 mm can be passed through at standstill, which is practical with stirring elements that are inserted from above. The brushless DC motor draws 32 watts and delivers up to 15.7 watts at the stirring shaft, at a duty cycle of 100 percent in continuous operation. If the stirring tool runs with imbalance, vibration monitoring detects this automatically and switches the unit off.Operation, housing and ambient conditionsThe speed is set via a rotary knob, with an accuracy of ±1 rpm and a deviation of at most ±1 percent above 300 rpm. A key lock prevents a running setting from being changed accidentally, for example when cleaning the unit. The housing is made of coated cast aluminium and thermoplastic, chemical-resistant and protected against dust and splashing water to protection class IP 54. Permissible ambient temperatures are 5 to 40 degrees Celsius at a relative humidity of up to 80 percent, values that are sufficient for most laboratory and pilot plant rooms.Typical applicationsHomogenising small batches in research and developmentTemperature-controlled stirring of reaction solutions with PT1000 monitoringStirring low- to medium-viscosity samples at high speedsLaboratory experiments with documented speed and temperature curves via labworldsoftSelection guide: the MICROSTAR/MINISTAR series at a glanceTwelve models make up the IKA MICROSTAR and MINISTAR series, six in the control version and six in the identically constructed digital version. The EUROSTAR 400 control is the fully-equipped version of the most powerful classic EUROSTAR model, with a mixing capacity of 150 l and a torque of 400 Ncm, utilising the same mechanical components as its digital counterpart, plus a TFT display, a detachable WiCo controller and a connection for external PT1000 temperature measurement. For pilot plants where the temperature and torque curves of large batches need to be documented, the control model is the more suitable choice compared to the simpler digital unit. Those who do not require the WiCo controller can opt for the structurally identical EUROSTAR 400 digital and save on the additional electronics.WiCo controller and temperature measurement on a large scaleThe WiCo wireless controller transmits over a range of up to 150 metres, depending on the building layout, which is particularly useful for large mixing stations where the main unit is not directly accessible. Using the H 67.60 stainless steel temperature sensor included in the Scope of delivery, the unit measures temperatures between -10 and 350 degrees Celsius with a resolution of 0.1 K; the torque display shows a trend value for monitoring changes in viscosity. RS232 and micro-USB interfaces record the parameters via labworldsoft.Power, design and batteryThe brushless DC motor draws 220 watts and delivers up to 176 watts to the stirring shaft. In range I, the stirrer delivers up to 400 Ncm at speeds between 6 and 400 rpm; in range II, the speed reaches up to 2,000 rpm with a maximum of 80 Ncm. The chuck accommodates stirring shafts from 3 to 16 mm; measuring 114 x 345 x 268 mm and weighing 8.8 kg, the unit is slightly larger and heavier than the digital model due to the additional WiCo electronics. The WiCo controller contains a permanently fitted lithium-polymer cell with 3.7 V and 7.4 Wh, which is housed within the unit and cannot be removed separately. The protection rating is IP 42. Additional voltage variants of 115 V and 100 V are available for locations outside the European 230 V mains supply.Typical applicationsDocumented stirring of large batches up to 150 l with temperature and torque curvesRemote control via the detachable WiCo controller at hard-to-reach stirring pointsPowerful mixing of viscous to highly viscous media up to 100,000 mPasProcess development in pilot plants with RS232/USB connection to labworldsoftSelection guide: the EUROSTAR series at a glanceSix EUROSTAR models make up IKA’s current range; the EUROSTAR 400 control is the fully equipped variant in the highest performance class. At the upper end of the MICROSTAR/MINISTAR series stands the IKA MINISTAR 80 digital: 50 litres stirring volume per stirring position, 80 Ncm torque and a design for media of up to 60,000 mPas viscosity, at a speed range of 50 to 500 rpm.For large and thick batchesWith a nominal torque of 0.8 Nm and a maximum stirring shaft power of 42 watts, the unit handles batches at which the smaller MICROSTAR models reach their limit. The speed range ends at 500 rpm, lower than with the entry-level MINISTAR 20 digital, because at this torque and viscosity class stirring performance is more important than speed.Identical in construction to MINISTAR 40, different gearingHousing dimensions (70 x 193 x 147 mm) and weight (1.72 kg) correspond exactly to the MINISTAR 40 digital, and the two models differ only in the internal gearing between speed and torque. The connected load of 69 watts, protection class IP 54 and operation via rotary knob and LED display are identical across the entire digital series. For setting up on reaction vessels of larger volume, additional stand accessories are available if required.Accessories for large batchesWith stirring volumes of up to 50 litres, suitable accessories from the current range pay off. In addition to the anchor stirrer with beaker scraper for plastic vessels, the range includes dissolver and disc stirrers for high shear forces as well as helical stirrers for thick, non-Newtonian media. Telescopic and base plate stands as well as cross clamps are available for mounting, and for personal protection at an open vessel, additionally a separately available stirring shaft guard R 301 with its own stand holder. For the regulated sector, factory calibration certificates and IQ/OQ documentation are also available, as is the EU declaration of conformity from the downloads area of the product documentation. Anyone who regularly works with plastic vessels additionally secures the stability of the set-up by using a base plate stand instead of a slim telescopic stand.Typical applicationsStirring large batches of up to 50 litres in the pilot laboratoryMixing highly viscous media of up to 60,000 mPasProcesses with high torque requirements at low speedTransition from laboratory to pilot plant scaleSelection guide: MICROSTAR and MINISTAR at a glanceThe MINISTAR 80 digital is the most powerful model of the entire series, with the highest torque and the largest stirring volume. The motor, gearbox and mixing capacity of the EUROSTAR 200 control are exactly the same as those of the digital model in the same performance class, handling up to 100 l of water and 200 Ncm of torque at low speeds. The difference lies in the operation: a digital, multilingual TFT display, a detachable remote control called WiCo and a connection for an external PT1000 temperature sensor transform the basic unit into a stirrer with process documentation. Anyone wishing to record the temperature and torque curve of a reaction without having to stand by the stand is better off with the control model than with the digital model. The additional electronics do not alter either the stirring capacity or the basic mechanics; a later switch between the two versions is possible on the same stand without any modification.WiCo, TFT display and temperature measurementThe WiCo wireless controller can be detached from the base unit and transmits control signals wirelessly over a range of up to 150 metres, depending on the building layout; this is particularly useful for stirring points that are difficult to access or mounted within a fume cupboard. Using the optional H 67.60 stainless steel temperature probe, which is included in the Scope of delivery, the unit measures the sample temperature between -10 and 350 degrees Celsius with a resolution of 0.1 K. The torque display shows a trend value, which is helpful for detecting changes in the sample’s viscosity during stirring, although it does not replace a calibrated absolute measurement.Mechanics, connection and batteryThe brushless DC motor draws 135 watts and delivers up to 84 watts to the stirring shaft; the two speed ranges are from 6 to 400 rpm with a maximum of 200 Ncm and from 30 to 2,000 rpm with a maximum of 40 Ncm. Stirring shafts are mounted via a 10 mm diameter plug-in coupling and a collet ranging from 0.5 to 10 mm. RS232 and Micro-USB interfaces connect the device to labworldsoft. The WiCo controller contains a permanently installed lithium-polymer cell with 3.7 V and 7.4 Wh, which is housed within the unit and cannot be removed separately. The IP 40 protection rating is lower than that of the basic units without wireless electronics; however, this is sufficient for normal laboratory use on a stand.Typical applicationsDocumented stirring with temperature and torque curves via the PT1000 sensorRemote operation via the detachable WiCo controller, for example at a fume cupboardPowerful stirring of viscous media up to 100 l at low speedsProcess development with RS232/USB connection to labworldsoftSelection guide: the EUROSTAR series at a glanceSix EUROSTAR models make up IKA’s current range. 25 litres of stirring volume and 40 Ncm of torque position the MINISTAR 40 control in the middle of the MINISTAR series, for samples of up to 30,000 mPas at speeds of 0/30 to 1,000 revolutions per minute. Compared with the MINISTAR 20 control, the focus is more on volume and viscosity than on high speed, while compared with the MINISTAR 80 control it retains more speed range for thinner phases within the same batch. What the control display showsThe MINISTAR 40 control differs from the identically constructed MINISTAR 40 digital by an LCD glass display, a timer from 0 to 6,000 minutes and external temperature measurement via the supplied sensor H 67.60 (PT1000, -10 to 350 degrees Celsius). A torque display additionally provides a trend value, not a calibrated absolute measurement. The unit can be connected to labworldsoft via Micro-USB or the WPAN interface (Bluetooth) to document measurement series.Mechanics for thicker samplesWith 60 watts input power and up to 42 watts at the stirring shaft, the brushless DC motor delivers enough power for the higher viscosity class of this model. The chuck accepts stirring shafts from 0.5 to 8.2 mm, and the hollow shaft with an internal diameter of 8.5 mm can be passed through at standstill. The boss rod for stand mounting measures 13 mm in diameter and 160 mm in length. If the stirring tool runs with imbalance, vibration detection automatically switches off the drive.Setting, housing and operating limitsThe rotary knob controls the speed with an accuracy of ±1 rpm, and above 300 rpm with a deviation of at most ±1 percent. The key lock holds a selected setting, even when the unit runs unattended during longer stirring series. Housings made of coated cast aluminium and thermoplastic are chemical-resistant and protected against dust and splashing water to IP 54. The MINISTAR 40 control may be operated at 5 to 40 degrees Celsius ambient temperature and up to 80 percent relative humidity, values that cover typical pilot plant rooms without additional air conditioning.Typical applicationsLarger batches of up to 25 litres in pilot plant and productionStirring thick samples of up to 30,000 mPasTemperature-controlled processes with PT1000 monitoringDocumented stirring protocols via labworldsoftMedium-sized batches for which neither the 20 nor the 80 model hits the right power classBatches with changing viscosity, where the torque trend on the display gives a first indicationSelection guide: the MICROSTAR/MINISTAR series at a glanceTwelve models make up the IKA MICROSTAR and MINISTAR series, six in the control version and six in the identically constructed digital version.
