IKA EUROSTAR 60 digital overhead stirrer with LCD display, up to 60 litres, 0020105156

Product information "IKA EUROSTAR 60 digital overhead stirrer with LCD display, up to 60 litres, 0020105156"

The IKA EUROSTAR 60 digital overhead stirrer (MPN 0020105156) represents the modernised, mechatronically optimised generation of universal laboratory stirrers for medium-duty to demanding mixing tasks. With a footprint reduced by up to 23 per cent compared to previous models, this unit offers a high functional density in a minimal space. Designed for a sample volume of up to 60 litres (based on water), the system reliably handles viscosities of up to 50,000 mPas. This makes it suitable for standardised mixing processes, homogenisation and reproducible test series in a professional B2B laboratory environment.

Within the EUROSTAR series, the Model 60 digital covers the mid-range volume class: With a stirring capacity of 60 litres and a maximum viscosity of 50,000 mPas, it sits between the more compact Model 40 digital (25 litres, 30,000 mPas) and the large-volume Model 100 digital (100 litres).

Torque trend measurement for viscoelasticity monitoring

A key feature of the digital series is the integrated torque trend measurement. The system detects changes in the viscosity of the medium with an accuracy of ±6 Ncm and displays the relative viscosity trend on the LCD screen. This enables laboratory staff to draw conclusions about the status of the mixing process. Thanks to automatic speed adjustment within a range of 30 to 2,000 revolutions per minute, the stirrer maintains the selected speed even when viscosity changes.

Ergonomic tool change and occupational safety

The EUROSTAR 60 digital is designed for user-friendliness and process reliability in continuous operation. The integrated quick-release chuck allows one-handed changing of stirring tools without the need for additional tools. A lock button protects the running system from accidental changes to parameters. In the event of overload or blockage of the stirring element, independent safety circuits trigger an automatic shut-off.

Connectivity and robust housing design

With USB-C and RS232 interfaces, the overhead stirrer can be seamlessly connected to a PC and controlled and documented via the labworldsoft laboratory software. The housing, made from coated die-cast aluminium and robust thermoplastic, meets protection class IP 54. The brushless DC motor operates with virtually no wear, is quiet (52 dBA) and is designed for a 100 per cent duty cycle in continuous operation.

Typical applications

  • Homogenisation and mixing of highly viscous media up to 50,000 mPas in larger containers of up to 60 litres
  • Scale-up trials from beaker to pilot plant scale, where a larger volume is required than that offered by the 20 and 40 digital models
  • Standardised mixing processes in production and quality assurance with a documentable viscosity trend
  • Preparation of larger batches of solutions, suspensions or emulsions in the industrial laboratory

IKA R 1330 Anchor Stirrer 0002022300
IKA R 1330 Anchor Stirrer, Ø 45 mm, Length 350 mm, for EUROSTAR and RW 20, 0002022300
Manufacturer number: 0002022300

The IKA R 1330 anchor stirrer (MPN 0002022300) is a stirring element made of stainless steel 1.4571 for overhead stirrers. It has a stirrer diameter of 45 mm and a shaft with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 350 mm. It is intended for medium to highly viscous media that are stirred at low speeds, up to a maximum of 1,000 rpm.A polymer batch that sits thick in the vessel, or a mixture with a high mineral content that is to stay evenly distributed: the R 1330 is intended for tasks like these.Tangential flow of the anchor stirrer with a high shear rate at the edgeThe anchor stirrer moves the medium tangentially, that is, in the circumferential direction around the stirrer axis, and not axially like a propeller stirrer. The shear rate is high at the edge of the stirrer, and few deposits are left on the vessel wall. With viscous batches this matters, because material on the wall is withdrawn from the mixing process. It is used at low speeds. The stirrer diameter of 45 mm determines the minimum width of the opening of the stirring vessel.Typical applicationsHomogenising medium to highly viscous liquids in the laboratoryStirring in polymer reactionsEvenly distributing high mineral content in liquidsBatches where little material should be deposited on the vessel wallWorking at low speeds on an overhead stirrerSuitable for IKA overhead stirrers with an 8 mm chuckThe shaft with a diameter of 8 mm fits into chucks for an 8 mm shaft. These include the IKA overhead stirrers EUROSTAR 20, 40, 60, 100, 200 and 400 (digital and control), RW 20 digital as well as MINISTAR, MICROSTAR and NANOSTAR. In our range you will find EUROSTAR 20, 40, 60, 100, 200 and 400 digital, RW 20 digital, MINISTAR 20, 40 and 80 digital, MICROSTAR 7.5 digital and NANOSTAR 7.5 digital.Whether a stirrer drives the anchor stirrer safely in your medium depends on the viscosity and on the torque of the stirrer. The more viscous the batch, the more torque is required. Therefore check before purchase whether your device is sufficient for your batch and whether the chuck accepts a shaft of 8 mm.MaterialThe wetted parts of the R 1330 are made of stainless steel 1.4571. The weight of the stirrer is 0.151 kg.Technical detailsTypeAnchor stirrerStirrer diameter45 mmShaft diameter8 mmShaft length350 mmMaximum speed1,000 rpmFlowtangentialSuitable formedium to highly viscous mediaMaterial, wetted partsStainless steel 1.4571Weight0.151 kgMountChuck for 8 mm shaftScope of delivery1 x IKA R 1330 anchor stirrer (MPN 0002022300). IKA R 401 Agitator shaft guard with hinge for overhead agitators, 0020122349
IKA R 401 Agitator shaft guard with hinge for overhead agitators, 0020122349
Manufacturer number: 0020122349

The IKA R 401 stirring shaft guard with hinge (MPN 0020122349) is an essential mechanical safety component for the safe and accident-free operation of overhead stirrers in the laboratory. During intensive mixing and homogenisation of viscous media, high kinetic forces act on the rotating stirring shafts. This professional shaft guard reliably protects laboratory staff from accidental contact with the rotating parts, effectively preventing clothing, hair or gloves from being drawn in. The guard is therefore a fundamental element in risk assessments and compliance with strict health and safety and accident prevention regulations (UVV). Ergonomic access thanks to an integrated hinge mechanism The design highlight of the R 401 model is its integrated, smooth-running hinge system. Unlike rigid protective covers, this hinged system architecture allows quick, unobstructed access to the drill chuck and the stirrer tool in use. Laboratory staff can carry out tool changes, adjustments to the immersion depth or cleaning tasks in a way that protects the material, without the need for time-consuming dismantling of the entire guard. This ensures a smooth workflow with high time efficiency in daily multi-user operation. Material stability and unrestricted process visibility The protective screen is made from a highly transparent, impact-resistant and specialised plastic material. This choice of material guarantees uncompromising chemical resistance to transient splashes of acids, alkalis or organic solvents. The material’s excellent optical clarity ensures that visual monitoring of the stirring process, transient flow patterns or any delays in boiling within the sample vessel remains completely unrestricted and error-free at all times.
