The IKA KS 4000 ic control is a high-performance incubation shaker designed for unattended continuous operation and precise, reproducible results. It is the premium solution for laboratories that need not only to heat samples but also to actively cool them.

Integrated heating and cooling function (ic control)

The standout feature of this model is the integrated cooling coil. Whilst standard incubators can only heat (e.g. up to +80 °C), the KS 4000 ic control can actively lower the temperature to as much as 10 °C below ambient temperature (AT). For procurement specialists, this is crucial: it guarantees stable incubation temperatures (e.g. 25 °C or 30 °C) even in warm laboratories during the summer and enables applications at or below room temperature.

Precise control and documentation

As a ‘control’ model, the shaker features a large TFT display for intuitive programming of speed and temperature ramps. Precise PID control ensures exact stability. For laboratories required to operate in compliance with GLP/GMP, the USB and RS-232 interfaces are essential. They enable control and comprehensive data documentation via the IKA software labworldsoft ®.

Robust drive for high payload

This shaker is designed for high throughput and can handle a maximum load (including the top section) of 20 kg. The 20 mm orbital shaking stroke is ideal for the gentle and efficient mixing of cultures in Erlenmeyer flasks, multi-well plates or Petri dishes. The drive stops automatically when the hood is opened, ensuring user safety.
