IKA LR 1000.41 Shaft holder for S 25 KV dispersing tool, 0004664300

Product information "IKA LR 1000.41 Shaft holder for S 25 KV dispersing tool, 0004664300"

The LR 1000.41 shaft holder is used to install the S 25 KV dispersing tool in the lid of the IKA LR-1000 reactor. The holder is fitted in place of one of the standard lid connections and accommodates the shaft of the dispersing tool, whilst the FPM seal seals the junction between the shaft and the lid opening. This allows a separate dispersing tool to be operated in addition to the anchor stirrer, for example when a batch requires not only slow mixing but also high-speed fine dispersion, as is necessary when producing emulsions or fine suspensions. FPM is a sealing material suitable for many standard media, offering good temperature and oil resistance; however, it reaches its limits particularly when used with highly aggressive solvents. Together with the anchor stirrer, this creates a two-stage mixing process within the same vessel, combining slow, general circulation with targeted, high-speed fine dispersion at a defined point within the medium. Dispersing tools such as the S 25 KV operate at significantly higher speeds than an anchor stirrer, thereby generating the shear forces required for fine emulsions or suspensions. Checking the identification number of your own reactor system before ordering provides additional assurance.

Compatibility

The shaft holder is compatible with both LR 1000 systems: the LR 1000 basic system (ID No. 0020119960) and the LR 1000 control system (ID No. 0025001991). The S 25 KV dispersing tool itself is not included in the scope of delivery for this holder, but is operated separately as a standalone IKA tool. As the holder is screwed into a standard lid opening, you should check in advance whether there is still a suitable free opening available on your reactor lid. Compared to the basic system, the LR 1000 control system additionally features vacuum operation and a pH connection; the installation of the shaft holder is carried out in the same way on both systems.

Individual requirements and procurement service

For media requiring greater chemical resistance from the seal, the structurally identical LR 1000.40 shaft holder with an FFKM seal is available, featuring identical dimensions and weight. The choice of seal suitable for the medium in use depends heavily on the specific chemical and the process temperature. Our procurement service can advise you on the appropriate seal variant for your medium and on its interaction with the dispersing tool, including any queries regarding the simultaneous use of an anchor stirrer and a dispersing tool within the same reactor lid. If you are unsure whether a free lid connection is still available on your own reactor, a quick photo of the lid is usually more helpful than a description alone.

IKA laboratory reactor LR 1000 control System, 1,000 ml, vacuum, pH connection, 0025001991
Manufacturer number: 0025001991

The IKA LR 1000 control System (MPN 0025001991) is a compact laboratory reactor with a working volume of up to 1,000 millilitres, which combines stirring, heating and digital process documentation in a single unit. Unlike the simpler LR 1000 basic System, this model features a large TFT display showing all process values, supplemented by a connection for external pH measurement and digital interfaces for PC connectivity. The system is suitable for stirring and heating processes involving media with a viscosity of up to 100,000 mPas and operating temperatures of up to 120 °C, for example in chemical synthesis, formulation development or quality control. Thanks to the additional sensor technology, reactions can be monitored and documented much more closely than with a simple magnetic stirrer. Anchor stirrer with PEEK scrapers and torque trend measurement The supplied LR 1000.10 anchor stirrer is fitted with PEEK scrapers which continuously glide along the inner wall of the reactor vessel, thereby preventing product from depositing on the heated glass wall. The speed range extends from 10 to 150 revolutions per minute at a nominal torque of 3 Nm, suitable for media with a viscosity of up to 100,000 mPas. An integrated torque trend measurement indicates how the consistency of the stirred material changes during the process, for example when a solution becomes increasingly viscous or a solid dissolves. Heated reactor vessel with precise temperature control The LR 1000.3 reactor vessel has a maximum capacity of 1,000 millilitres; with a dispersing tool fitted, the minimum volume is 500 millilitres. The heating element at the base of the vessel has a heating power of 1,000 watts and heats the medium to operating temperatures of up to 120 °C, whilst the heating plate itself can reach temperatures of up to 180 °C. The supplied PT 100.30 temperature sensor measures the medium temperature with a resolution of 0.1 Kelvin; the control accuracy is ±0.2 Kelvin, and the setting accuracy is ±1 Kelvin. TFT display, pH connection and digital interfaces A large TFT display shows speed, temperature and other process values in real time. An external pH electrode can be connected via a BNC socket, covering a measurement range from 0 to 14 pH with a resolution of 0.1 pH, allowing acid-base reactions to be monitored directly in the reaction vessel. In addition, the system features an integrated weighing function with a weighing range of up to 2,000 grams at a resolution of 1 gram. An RS 232 interface, a USB port (Micro-B) and Bluetooth are available for connection to a PC for process documentation. Vacuum operation and safety concept The system is designed for operation under vacuum down to 25 mbar; a vacuum valve assembly controls the connection to a vacuum pump. Two hose connections also allow an external cooling medium with a minimum temperature of 3 °C to be connected, for example to cool exothermic reactions in a controlled manner. An adjustable safety circuit monitors the temperature within a range of 47 to 225 °C with a tolerance of ±10 to ±20 Kelvin and automatically switches off the heating if necessary. If the reactor vessel or lid is removed during operation, a safety shut-off is triggered immediately. Difference from the LR 1000 basic System Within the LR 1000 series, the control System is the version with more comprehensive data logging: Whilst the simpler LR 1000 basic System is primarily designed for stirring and heating, the control System adds pH measurement, an integrated weighing function and digital interfaces for process documentation. Anyone requiring comprehensive documentation of temperature, pH and torque curves, for example for internal quality records, is better served by this version than by the basic model. Typical applications The LR 1000 control System is suitable for stirring, heating and documentation tasks on a 1-litre scale, wherever process data needs to be recorded in a traceable manner: Chemical syntheses with temperature control and concurrent pH monitoring Formulation development in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries involving process parameters subject to documentation requirements Vacuum-assisted concentration or degassing of solutions and dispersions Polymerisation experiments in which torque trends and viscosity increases are to be monitored simultaneously Quality control with documented temperature and pH profiles for internal release processes Practical courses and further training in which students learn how to operate a fully equipped laboratory reactor Formulation screening, in which several batches with different temperature profiles are compared sequentially Technical details Max. usable volume1,000 ml Minimum volume with dispersing tool500 ml Speed range10 to 150 rpm Rated torque3 Nm Max. viscosity100,000 mPas Operating temperature (medium) max.120 °C Max. heating temperature (heating plate)180 °C Heating power1,000 W Control accuracy (medium)±0.2 K Setting accuracy of target temperature±1 K Achievable vacuum25 mbar Weighing rangeup to 2,000 g, resolution 1 g pH measurement range0 to 14 pH, resolution 0.1 pH Material (parts in contact with the medium)Borosilicate glass 3.3, AISI 316L stainless steel, PEEK, PTFE, FFPM Connections on reactor lid2 x NS 29, 2 x NS 14, 2 x GL 14 DisplayTFT display InterfacesRS 232, USB (Micro-B), Bluetooth Dimensions (W x H x D)443 x 360 x 295 mm Weightapprox. 23 kg Mains voltage230 V, 50/60 Hz Power consumption1,200 W Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Permissible relative humiditymax. 80 % Scope of delivery 1 x IKA LR 1000 control base station 1 x LR 1000.3 reactor vessel 1 x LR 1000.10 anchor stirrer with PEEK scrapers 1 x PT 100.30 temperature probe with mounting bracket 1 x support rod, 16 mm diameter 2 x hose connectors for cooling medium 1 x USB cable (USB-A to Micro-B, 2 m) Individual requirements and procurement service To help you expand your LR 1000 control System, our procurement service can assist you with additional accessories, such as a pH electrode with a BNC connector, further reactor vessels or dispersing tools for the open lid ports. IKA LR 1000 basic System Laboratory Reactor, 1,000 ml, up to 100,000 mPas, 20119960
Manufacturer number: 0020119960

For stirring and heating processes on the 1-litre scale that do not require pH measurement or digital process documentation, the IKA LR 1000 basic System laboratory reactor (MPN 20119960) offers the basic equipment of the LR 1000 reactor platform. It processes media with a viscosity of up to 100,000 mPas in a working volume of up to 1000 millilitres and heats the medium to working temperatures of up to 120 °C. As the entry-level version of the LR 1000 series, it suits laboratories that need a compact, heated laboratory reactor without the additional sensors of the LR 1000 control System. Operation therefore stays reduced to the essentials: set the speed, set the temperature, stir. Speed control up to 100,000 mPas The speed range of the LR 1000 basic System extends from 10 to 150 revolutions per minute at a rated torque of 3 Nm, with a maximum speed deviation of ±5 revolutions per minute. This allows media with a viscosity of up to 100,000 mPas to be stirred in a controlled way. The system is designed for continuous operation at 100 % duty cycle, so longer reactions or multi-hour stirring processes can be run without interruption. Heated reactor vessel with 1000 millilitres working volume The reactor vessel holds a maximum of 1000 millilitres. With a dispersing tool the minimum volume is 500 millilitres, without a dispersing tool it is 300 millilitres. The heater delivers a heating power of 1000 watts and warms the medium to up to 120 °C, while the heating plate itself can reach temperatures of up to 180 °C. Temperature control works with an accuracy of ±0.2 kelvin at the medium and a setting accuracy of ±1 kelvin for the target temperature. The system is also designed for vacuum operation down to 25 mbar. Compact design with connection for external temperature probes With dimensions of 443 x 360 x 295 millimetres and a weight of around 22 kilograms, the LR 1000 basic System fits into a modest footprint in the laboratory. An external temperature probe can be connected via a PT100 connection, and two additional hose nozzles allow connection of an external cooling medium, for example to cool exothermic reactions in a controlled way. An RS 232 interface and a USB port are available for connection to a PC. Material and resistance The media-contacting parts are made of borosilicate glass 3.3, stainless steel AISI 316L, PTFE and PEEK. The seals are made of FKM and, together with the chemically resistant glass, make the system suitable for both aqueous and solvent-based batches. The permissible ambient temperature is 5 to 40 °C, the permissible relative humidity a maximum of 80 %. Vacuum operation for degassing and solvent-free working In addition to classic stirring and heating at normal pressure, the LR 1000 basic System can also be operated under vacuum down to 25 mbar. This is helpful, for example, when air bubbles are to be removed from a viscous formulation, or when a solvent is to be removed gently at reduced pressure and therefore lower temperature, instead of heating the medium to its boiling point at normal pressure. Difference from the LR 1000 control System The basic System covers the basic stirring and heating functions of the LR 1000 series, but omits the TFT display, pH measurement, integrated weighing function and Bluetooth connection of the LR 1000 control System. For applications where pure temperature and speed control without additional measurement data acquisition is sufficient, the basic System is therefore the more economical choice within the series. Typical applications The LR 1000 basic System is suitable for stirring and heating processes on the 1-litre scale without additional documentation requirements, wherever a solid basic equipment level is sufficient: Stirring and heating reaction batches in chemical synthesis Homogenising and temperature-controlling creams, gels and emulsions in cosmetics development Vacuum-assisted degassing or concentrating of solutions Formulation development in early pharmaceutical development Practical courses and training in which the basic handling of a heated laboratory reactor is taught Routine processes in which temperature and speed must be kept constant and no pH measurement is required Smaller batches in materials development where external temperature monitoring via PT100 is sufficient Preliminary trials to test new recipes before a process is transferred to the more extensively equipped control System Technical details Max. working volume1,000 ml Min. volume with dispersing tool500 ml Min. volume without dispersing tool300 ml Speed range10 to 150 rpm Speed deviationmax. ±5 rpm Rated torque3 Nm Max. viscosity100,000 mPas Working temperature (medium) max.120 °C Heating temperature (heating plate) max.180 °C Heating power1,000 W Control accuracy (medium)±0.2 K Setting accuracy target temperature±1 K Achievable vacuum25 mbar Permissible duty cycle100 % Material (media-contacting parts)Borosilicate glass 3.3, stainless steel AISI 316L, PTFE, PEEK, FKM InterfacesRS 232, USB Connection for external temperature probePT100 Dimensions (W x H x D)443 x 360 x 295 mm Weightapprox. 22 kg Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Permissible relative humiditymax. 80 % Scope of delivery 1 x IKA LR 1000 basic base station 1 x Reactor vessel 1 x Sensor holder 1 x Temperature probe 1 x Stand rod 2 x Hose nozzles for cooling medium Individual requirements and procurement service To extend the LR 1000 basic System, we support you through our procurement service with additional accessories, for example further reactor vessels, dispersing tools or a move to the more extensively equipped LR 1000 control System.
