Product information "IKA LR 1000 basic System Laboratory Reactor, 1,000 ml, up to 100,000 mPas, 20119960"
For stirring and heating processes on the 1-litre scale that do not require pH measurement or digital process documentation, the IKA LR 1000 basic System laboratory reactor (MPN 20119960) offers the basic equipment of the LR 1000 reactor platform. It processes media with a viscosity of up to 100,000 mPas in a working volume of up to 1000 millilitres and heats the medium to working temperatures of up to 120 °C. As the entry-level version of the LR 1000 series, it suits laboratories that need a compact, heated laboratory reactor without the additional sensors of the LR 1000 control System. Operation therefore stays reduced to the essentials: set the speed, set the temperature, stir.
Speed control up to 100,000 mPas
The speed range of the LR 1000 basic System extends from 10 to 150 revolutions per minute at a rated torque of 3 Nm, with a maximum speed deviation of ±5 revolutions per minute. This allows media with a viscosity of up to 100,000 mPas to be stirred in a controlled way. The system is designed for continuous operation at 100 % duty cycle, so longer reactions or multi-hour stirring processes can be run without interruption.
Heated reactor vessel with 1000 millilitres working volume
The reactor vessel holds a maximum of 1000 millilitres. With a dispersing tool the minimum volume is 500 millilitres, without a dispersing tool it is 300 millilitres. The heater delivers a heating power of 1000 watts and warms the medium to up to 120 °C, while the heating plate itself can reach temperatures of up to 180 °C. Temperature control works with an accuracy of ±0.2 kelvin at the medium and a setting accuracy of ±1 kelvin for the target temperature. The system is also designed for vacuum operation down to 25 mbar.
Compact design with connection for external temperature probes
With dimensions of 443 x 360 x 295 millimetres and a weight of around 22 kilograms, the LR 1000 basic System fits into a modest footprint in the laboratory. An external temperature probe can be connected via a PT100 connection, and two additional hose nozzles allow connection of an external cooling medium, for example to cool exothermic reactions in a controlled way. An RS 232 interface and a USB port are available for connection to a PC.
Material and resistance
The media-contacting parts are made of borosilicate glass 3.3, stainless steel AISI 316L, PTFE and PEEK. The seals are made of FKM and, together with the chemically resistant glass, make the system suitable for both aqueous and solvent-based batches. The permissible ambient temperature is 5 to 40 °C, the permissible relative humidity a maximum of 80 %.
Vacuum operation for degassing and solvent-free working
In addition to classic stirring and heating at normal pressure, the LR 1000 basic System can also be operated under vacuum down to 25 mbar. This is helpful, for example, when air bubbles are to be removed from a viscous formulation, or when a solvent is to be removed gently at reduced pressure and therefore lower temperature, instead of heating the medium to its boiling point at normal pressure.
Difference from the LR 1000 control System
The basic System covers the basic stirring and heating functions of the LR 1000 series, but omits the TFT display, pH measurement, integrated weighing function and Bluetooth connection of the LR 1000 control System. For applications where pure temperature and speed control without additional measurement data acquisition is sufficient, the basic System is therefore the more economical choice within the series.
Typical applications
The LR 1000 basic System is suitable for stirring and heating processes on the 1-litre scale without additional documentation requirements, wherever a solid basic equipment level is sufficient:
- Stirring and heating reaction batches in chemical synthesis
- Homogenising and temperature-controlling creams, gels and emulsions in cosmetics development
- Vacuum-assisted degassing or concentrating of solutions
- Formulation development in early pharmaceutical development
- Practical courses and training in which the basic handling of a heated laboratory reactor is taught
- Routine processes in which temperature and speed must be kept constant and no pH measurement is required
- Smaller batches in materials development where external temperature monitoring via PT100 is sufficient
- Preliminary trials to test new recipes before a process is transferred to the more extensively equipped control System

The IKA S 25 KD - LR - 25 G is a specialised dispersing tool designed primarily for use in IKA laboratory reactors (LR series). The distinctive feature of this tool lies in its geometric design: it has an extended shaft (267 mm installation length), which allows for deeper immersion into reactor vessels. This is crucial for ensuring efficient homogenisation even at low liquid levels or with small sample volumes, without the reactor needing to be filled to the brim. KD design for vacuum and cleaning The abbreviation ‘KD’ stands for a special sealing and bearing design that allows operation under vacuum down to 100 mbar. This makes the tool particularly suitable for processes where air ingress must be avoided or which take place under reduced pressure (e.g. degassing during dispersion). At the same time, the tool in KD design can be disassembled for cleaning: the rotor can be removed, which facilitates cleaning and sterilisation (wet chemical or autoclave). Materials All parts in contact with the product are manufactured from high-quality materials: stainless steel (AISI 316L), PTFE and FFKM. This combination offers high chemical resistance (pH 2–13) and solvent compatibility. This makes the tool suitable for applications in pharmaceutical and food development. Anyone working with the IKA LR-1000 system will eventually need a reactor vessel, as the base unit and drive alone are not enough. The LR 1000.1 is precisely this vessel: a 1,000-ml glass container with a lid, an anchor stirrer and an integrated vacuum tap, compatible with the LR 1000 basic and LR 1000 control systems.Vessel for the LR-1000 systemsThe vessel has a maximum capacity of 1,000 ml and is designed for medium temperatures of up to 120 °C. Together with the LR 1000 basic system or the LR 1000 control system, it forms a complete reactor; the base unit provides the drive and heating, whilst the glass vessel serves as the reaction chamber. Typical applications include the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, where smaller batches are mixed or dispersed under controlled conditions. The 1,000 ml size is particularly suitable for formulation development and preliminary trials, where the amount of material used should remain manageable before a formulation is scaled up to larger batches.Lid, vacuum tap and anchor stirrerThe lid has three NS 14 sockets and one NS 29 socket; two NS 14 and one NS 29 opening are sealed with glass stoppers and clamps when not in use. An NS 14 vacuum tap is already integrated and allows the vessel to be evacuated directly, for example for bubble-free degassing or for reactions under an inert atmosphere. The scope of delivery also includes the LR 1000.11 anchor stirrer made of stainless steel; the parts in contact with the product are made of AISI 316L, borosilicate glass 3.3, PTFE and FPM. The drive connects to the base unit via a standardised stirrer shaft coupling; it is therefore possible to switch between the LR 1000 basic and LR 1000 control systems without any modifications to the vessel.Material resistanceBorosilicate glass 3.3 is the standardised designation for chemically resistant laboratory glassware and is resistant not only to most acids and alkalis but also to rapid temperature changes. AISI 316L is used for the metal components because this stainless steel is more corrosion-resistant than standard chromium steels and is therefore suitable for repeated contact with various reaction media. The FPM and PTFE seals round off the material concept, with PTFE being used primarily where particularly broad solvent resistance is required. This combination of materials is sufficient for most standard applications in laboratories and formulation development; however, for highly aggressive speciality chemicals, it is advisable to consult the manufacturer’s chemical resistance table before use.Typical applicationsMixing, dispersing and homogenising on a laboratory scale using the LR-1000 systemFormulation development in cosmetics and pharmaceuticalsReactions under vacuum or in an inert gas atmospherePreliminary scale-up trials prior to productionTechnical detailsMax. capacity1,000 mlAnchor stirrer included in the scope of deliveryLR 1000.11Lid configuration3 x NS 14, 1 x NS 29, of which 2 x NS 14 and 1 x NS 29 with glass stoppers and clamps, 1 x NS 14 vacuum tapMaterial in contact with the productAISI 316L, borosilicate glass 3.3, PTFE, FPMMaximum operating temperature of the product120 °CHeight270 mmWeight5.42 kgScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.1 laboratory reactor vessel, 1,000 ml1 x LR 1000.11 anchor stirrer2 x NS 14 glass stoppers with clamps1 x NS 29 glass stopper with clamp1 x NS 14 vacuum tapThe drive is not included. The LR 1000 basic or LR 1000 control system must be ordered separately.Use and careThe vessel can be completely separated from the lid for cleaning; all parts in contact with the medium can be dismantled. Before use under vacuum, it is advisable to carry out a brief visual inspection of the standard ground joints and seals; otherwise, a scratch or a trace of grease on the ground joint will impair vacuum performance. For highly viscous media that adhere strongly to the walls, the LR 1000.3 is available as a variant with a flow scraper on the anchor stirrer; for more fluid media, the standard anchor stirrer supplied here is generally sufficient.Individual requirements and procurement serviceThe LR-1000 range also includes other anchor stirrers, the standard stirrer LR 1000.11 made of stainless steel as a spare part and the LR 1000.10 with PEEK scrapers for media that adhere strongly to walls, plus the LR 1000.20 flow breaker to prevent the formation of vortices in the vessel. Through our procurement service, we can help you choose the right drive, agitator and other accessories for your LR-1000 system, even if you’re still unsure which combination is best suited to your application.Frequently Asked QuestionsIs the drive unit included in the scope of delivery? No, the LR 1000.1 is just the reactor vessel; it is driven by the LR 1000 basic or LR 1000 control system. Can the vessel be operated under vacuum?Yes, via the integrated NS-14 vacuum tap in the lid. What is the difference between the LR 1000.1 and the LR 1000.3?Primarily the anchor stirrer and the lid connections. The LR 1000.3 has an anchor stirrer with a flow scraper and six lid connections without an integrated vacuum tap, whilst the LR 1000.1 has the standard anchor stirrer and the vacuum tap.How much does the vessel weigh?5.42 kg, excluding the drive and base unit.
The LR 1000.3 is the second reactor vessel in IKA’s LR 1000 range, designed for the same drive units as the LR 1000.1, but with a different anchor agitator and different lid connections. Instead of the standard version, an anchor stirrer with a flow scraper is fitted, which ensures thorough mixing right up to the glass wall, even with viscous media that tend to stick to the walls.Vessel for the LR-1000 systemsLike the LR 1000.1, the LR 1000.3 is also compatible with the LR 1000 basic system and the LR 1000 control system; both provide the drive and heating for the vessel. The usable volume is based on the 1,000 ml size of the series; the base unit remains the same for both vessels, only the vessel itself is changed. This means that, if required, an existing LR 1000 system can be supplemented with a second vessel variant for other media without having to purchase a new drive unit. Those who run both low-viscosity and highly adhesive solutions in the laboratory can thus avoid the need for a completely separate system and simply swap the vessel instead.Anchor stirrer with flow scraper and six lid connectionsThe anchor stirrer supplied comes with a flow scraper which scrapes the vessel wall whilst stirring, thereby preventing viscous or sticky products from sticking to the glass wall. The lid has six connections, two NS 29, two NS 14 and two GL 14, for sensors, dosing systems or other accessories. For the LR 1000.1, IKA also specifies a vacuum tap integrated into the lid; the manufacturer’s specifications make no mention of this for the LR 1000.3. The two GL 14 connections can be used for hose connections. Parts in contact with the product are made of AISI 316L stainless steel, FFKM, PTFE and PEEK. This vessel also connects to the base unit via the standardised stirrer shaft mount; this means it is possible to switch between the LR 1000 basic and LR 1000 control systems without any modifications to the vessel.Material resistanceFFKM seals generally offer broader chemical and thermal resistance than standard FPM seals, such as those fitted to the LR 1000.1; this is particularly noticeable when dealing with more aggressive solvents or frequent changes of process medium. PEEK is used for the flow scraper because the material is mechanically robust whilst also being wear-resistant, an important consideration for a component that is constantly guided along the glass wall. AISI 316L stainless steel completes the material specification for the metal parts. Overall, the LR 1000.3 is therefore designed for more demanding media than the standard LR 1000.1 vessel; those who work predominantly with less critical, lower-viscosity solutions will generally find the more affordable standard configuration sufficient.Typical applicationsMixing and dispersing viscous, wall-adhering media on a laboratory scaleFormulation development in cosmetics and pharmaceuticalsApplications where additional lid connections are required for sensors or dosingPreliminary scale-up trials prior to productionTechnical detailsMax. capacity1,000 mlStirrer equipmentAnchor stirrer with flow scraperConnections on the lid2 x NS 29, 2 x NS 14, 2 x GL 14Materials that come into contact with the productAISI 316L stainless steel, FFKM, PTFE, PEEK, borosilicate glass 3.1Weight4.22 kgScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.3 laboratory reactor vessel, 1,000 ml1 x anchor stirrer with flow scraperThe drive is not included. The LR 1000 basic or LR 1000 control system must be ordered separately, as must glass stoppers or accessories for the free lid connections, should these still be missing.Use and careThe anchor stirrer can be detached from the drive for cleaning, and the vessel itself can be completely dismantled. Those who regularly work with very sticky or highly viscous media will benefit most from the flow scraper; for thinner media, the standard anchor stirrer of the LR 1000.1 is often sufficient. The six lid ports should remain closed when not in use to prevent any liquid or steam from escaping uncontrollably whilst stirring. As with the LR 1000.1, this vessel can also be completely dismantled for thorough cleaning, which is particularly useful after processing highly sticky products.Individual requirements and procurement serviceThe LR-1000 range also includes other anchor stirrers, such as the standard stirrer LR 1000.11, made of stainless steel and the LR 1000.10 with PEEK scrapers, and the flow breaker LR 1000.20 to prevent the formation of vortices in the vessel. Through our procurement service, we can assist you in selecting the drive, agitator and other accessories for your LR-1000 system, including helping you decide between the standard version and the flow scraper version.Frequently asked questionsIs a drive included in the scope of delivery? No, you will need either the LR 1000 basic or the LR 1000 control system. What is the difference between the LR 1000.3 and the LR 1000.1?The anchor stirrer with a flow scraper instead of a standard stirrer and six lid connections instead of four. IKA only specifies a vacuum tap integrated into the lid for the LR 1000.1. Details on the LR 1000.1 can be found on its product page. What types of lid connections does the vessel have? Two NS 29, two NS 14 and two GL 14.How much does the vessel weigh?4.22 kg, excluding the drive unit and base unit.
The LR 1000.41 shaft holder is used to install the S 25 KV dispersing tool in the lid of the IKA LR-1000 reactor. The holder is fitted in place of one of the standard lid connections and accommodates the shaft of the dispersing tool, whilst the FPM seal seals the junction between the shaft and the lid opening. This allows a separate dispersing tool to be operated in addition to the anchor stirrer, for example when a batch requires not only slow mixing but also high-speed fine dispersion, as is necessary when producing emulsions or fine suspensions. FPM is a sealing material suitable for many standard media, offering good temperature and oil resistance; however, it reaches its limits particularly when used with highly aggressive solvents. Together with the anchor stirrer, this creates a two-stage mixing process within the same vessel, combining slow, general circulation with targeted, high-speed fine dispersion at a defined point within the medium. Dispersing tools such as the S 25 KV operate at significantly higher speeds than an anchor stirrer, thereby generating the shear forces required for fine emulsions or suspensions. Checking the identification number of your own reactor system before ordering provides additional assurance.CompatibilityThe shaft holder is compatible with both LR 1000 systems: the LR 1000 basic system (ID No. 0020119960) and the LR 1000 control system (ID No. 0025001991). The S 25 KV dispersing tool itself is not included in the scope of delivery for this holder, but is operated separately as a standalone IKA tool. As the holder is screwed into a standard lid opening, you should check in advance whether there is still a suitable free opening available on your reactor lid. Compared to the basic system, the LR 1000 control system additionally features vacuum operation and a pH connection; the installation of the shaft holder is carried out in the same way on both systems.Technical detailsDimensions (W x H x D)45 x 60 x 45 mmWeight0.41 kgSeal materialFPMScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.41 shaft holderThe S 25 KV dispersing tool is not included and is operated separately.Individual requirements and procurement serviceFor media requiring greater chemical resistance from the seal, the structurally identical LR 1000.40 shaft holder with an FFKM seal is available, featuring identical dimensions and weight. The choice of seal suitable for the medium in use depends heavily on the specific chemical and the process temperature. Our procurement service can advise you on the appropriate seal variant for your medium and on its interaction with the dispersing tool, including any queries regarding the simultaneous use of an anchor stirrer and a dispersing tool within the same reactor lid. If you are unsure whether a free lid connection is still available on your own reactor, a quick photo of the lid is usually more helpful than a description alone.
The LR 1000.64 is a pH electrode with a BNC connector for the IKA LR-1000 reactor system. The BNC connector allows the electrode to be connected directly to the reactor system’s control unit or to a separate pH meter. The cable length of 1,000 mm is sufficient for the standard arrangement of the reactor vessel and control unit on a laboratory bench, without the need for an extension cable. The 12 mm shaft diameter is designed so that the electrode can be inserted into the LR 1000.65 probe holder without any additional play; the two parts are designed to work together as a pair and are therefore usually ordered together. IKA recommends using it in conjunction with the LR 1000.65 probe holder to ensure that the sensitive electrode tip is not damaged when immersed in the reactor vessel and is guided precisely to the desired depth. The electrode is rated for up to 130 °C and 10 bar, thus covering the entire operating range of the LR 1000 system. The BNC connector is widely used in measurement technology, meaning that the electrode can also be connected to other BNC-compatible pH meters outside the LR 1000 system if required.CompatibilityAccording to IKA’s compatibility information, the electrode is compatible exclusively with the LR 1000 control system (ID No. 0025001991), which features the required pH connector. This electrode is not intended for use with the LR 1000 basic system due to the lack of a suitable connection. Anyone wishing to retrofit an LR 1000 basic system for pH measurement will first need an external measuring device with its own BNC input; according to the compatibility list, permanent integration into the basic system is not provided for. Checking the identification number of your own reactor system before ordering provides additional certainty, particularly if both system variants are in use simultaneously in the laboratory.Technical detailsNominal length225 mmShaft diameter12 mmOperating temperature0 to 130 °CMax. pressure10 barCable length1,000 mmWeight0.1043 kgConnectionBNCScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.64 pH electrode (BNC connector)The LR 1000.65 probe holder is not included and must be purchased separately.Individual requirements and procurement serviceThe LR 1000.65 pH probe holder is required for safe installation; both parts are ordered together when setting up a new pH measurement system on the reactor. Our procurement service can advise you on the right combination for your pH measurement within the LR 1000 system, including when replacing an existing electrode or switching to continuous process monitoring. The team can also assist with enquiries regarding connection to an external pH meter outside the LR 1000 system, as well as helping to clarify whether an existing BNC electrode from another meter can be reused before ordering a new electrode.
The LR 1000.70 lid holder secures the reactor lid of the IKA LR-1000 system to the stand rod, for example when opening the lid to fill, remove contents from or clean the reactor vessel. Instead of having to prop up or set the lid aside whilst carrying out these tasks, it remains attached to the stand, leaving the vessel freely accessible. This is particularly practical for lids with several fitted accessories, such as anchor stirrers, flow breakers or probe holders, as these do not need to be removed individually each time the lid is opened. Weighing 0.196 kg, the holder can be mounted on and removed from the rod without significant effort. For work steps involving the repeated opening and closing of the lid, such as the step-by-step addition of components, the holder eliminates the need to repeatedly set the lid down on the laboratory bench, where seals and connections could become contaminated or damaged. As a fully fitted lid, complete with an anchor stirrer, flow breaker and other fittings, has a certain weight of its own, the holder also relieves the strain on the lid seal whilst the vessel remains open. Particularly in the case of reactor set-ups with multiple lid connections, on which probes or a flow breaker are already mounted, a secure storage location for the lid itself is all the more important, as placing it on the laboratory bench could damage or contaminate the parts mounted there.CompatibilityThe lid holder can be fitted to both the LR 1000 basic system (ID No. 0020119960) and the LR 1000 control system (ID No. 0025001991), as both systems use the same stand rod and the same lid diameter. Compared to the basic system, the LR 1000 control system also features vacuum operation and a pH connection; however, this makes no difference when fitting the lid holder, the only decisive factor is that both systems share the same stand rod. Checking the identification number of your own base unit before ordering provides added certainty.Technical detailsDepth60 mmHeight45 mmWeight0.196 kgScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.70 lid holderThe reactor lid itself and the reactor vessel are not included.Individual requirements and procurement serviceOur procurement service can assist with additional accessories for your LR 1000 system, ranging from anchor stirrers and lid mounts to the mounting bracket for the MV 1 solenoid valve. If there are several reactor lines in the same laboratory, it is often worth making a collective enquiry for the complete accessory package rather than reordering each part individually. The lid holder can also be included directly in the initial set-up for a new reactor system. The LR 1000.70 can also be easily reordered as a single spare part if an existing holder has been lost or damaged; however, it is still advisable to check which stand rod is compatible for older reactor set-ups.
Anyone wishing to prepare emulsions, suspensions or nanoparticle formulations not in an open beaker but in a closed, temperature-controlled laboratory reactor will need a drive that can be integrated into this system. The IKA T 25 digital LR disperser (0020008820) is designed precisely for this purpose: a dedicated drive unit for high-speed dispersion in laboratory reactors, with a volume range of 1 to 2,000 millilitres (based on water) and a speed range of 600 to 25,000 revolutions per minute. Unlike a benchtop disperser for open beakers, it is designed from the outset for mechanical integration into closed reactor systems and is not intended as a stand-alone, ready-to-use laboratory instrument. Powerful drive with infinitely variable speed control The 800-watt motor (500 watts output power) covers a continuously and electronically adjustable speed range from 600 to 25,000 revolutions per minute, displayed via a digital LED display with a deviation of just 1 % from the set target speed. In combination with the appropriate IKA dispersing tools, high shear forces are generated in the narrow shear gap between the rotor and stator, which break down particles and droplets and homogenise liquid phases, the classic operating principle of rotor-stator dispersers. The maximum permissible viscosity of the medium is 5,000 mPa·s, a guideline value that must be taken into account when selecting the dispersing tool and controlling the process. Designed for installation in laboratory reactor systems Unlike free-standing bench-top dispersers, the T 25 digital LR is designed as a drive unit only, which can be mechanically coupled with the special dispersing tools of the KD-LR series. These tools are designed for use in closed laboratory reactors such as the IKA LR 1000 and, thanks to high-quality shaft seals, enable operation under vacuum, which is useful for preventing aerosol and foam formation in media containing surfactants or for processing oxidation-sensitive batches under an inert atmosphere. Neither the dispersing tool nor the reactor itself is included with the T 25 digital LR; both must be purchased separately to suit the specific application. Electronic overload protection and digital display An integrated microprocessor maintains the set speed even when the resistance of the medium changes, for example if the viscosity of a batch increases during the reaction. If the stirring tool becomes suddenly blocked, for example by a jammed particle, an electronic overload protection system switches off the motor and displays an error code; this protects both the motor and the coupled dispersing tool. The unit is designed for continuous operation with a permissible duty cycle of 100 %. Compact design for mounting on a reactor stand Measuring 87 x 271 x 106 millimetres and weighing 2.5 kilograms, the T 25 digital LR can be mounted on a reactor stand to save space. The noise level without the dispersing tool fitted is 75 dB(A). The housing is rated to degree of protection IP 20 and approved for an ambient temperature of 5 to 40 °C. It can be connected to either 220 to 240 volts or 100 to 120 volts at 50 or 60 hertz. Selecting the appropriate dispersing tool Which KD-LR tool is suitable in each individual case depends on the reactor volume, the desired immersion depth and the viscosity range of the medium. The tools in this series feature an extended design so that, even in larger reaction vessels, they reach right down to the bottom of the vessel and continue to disperse effectively there, rather than leaving dead volume unused. As the T 25 digital LR is designed as a drive for different reactor sizes and tool variants, the same drive can often continue to be used when process requirements change, whilst only the dispersing tool is replaced. Typical applications As a drive unit for laboratory reactors, the T 25 digital LR is used wherever dispersion processes must take place under controlled, closed conditions: Production of emulsions and creams under air-exclusion conditions in closed reactors Dispersion and homogenisation of suspensions with controlled temperature regulation Scale-up trials between open beaker stirring and pilot reactors Production of finely dispersed systems with limited sample volumes from 1 millilitre Process development in the pharmaceutical and fine chemicals industries with requirements for reproducibility Technical details Product typeDrive unit for dispersing tools in laboratory reactors Volume range (H₂O)1 to 2,000 ml Motor power (input / output)800 W / 500 W Speed range600 to 25,000 rpm, electronically continuously adjustable Speed deviation1 % Speed displayLED display Maximum permissible viscosity of the medium5,000 mPa·s Noise level (without dispersing tool)75 dB(A) Permissible duty cycle100 % (continuous operation) Motor protectionElectronic overload protection with error code display Dimensions (W x H x D)87 x 271 x 106 mm Arm length / Arm diameter160 mm / 13 mm Weight2.5 kg Protection class (to DIN EN 60529)IP 20 Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Power supply220 to 240 V or 100 to 120 V, 50/60 Hz Scope of delivery 1 x IKA T 25 digital LR drive unit 1 x IEC mains cable 1 x operating instructions Not included are the required dispersing tool from the KD-LR series, the laboratory reactor itself, and a stand for mounting the drive unit. Individual requirements & procurement service As the T 25 digital LR is designed purely as a drive unit, you will also need a suitable dispersing tool from the KD-LR series and a stand solution to secure the drive in order to operate it on your laboratory reactor. Through our procurement service, we can assist you in selecting the appropriate dispersing tool for your specific application, as well as stand materials, spare parts and accessories for integration into existing reactor systems. Further information and contact details can be found at our procurement service.
The LR 1000.10 is an anchor stirrer for the IKA LR-1000 reactor system, fitted with PEEK scrapers on both stirrer arms. During stirring, the scrapers lie close to the inner wall of the reactor vessel and continuously push product that would otherwise adhere there back into the mixing zone. In the case of viscous, sticky or crystallising batches, this prevents dead zones forming at the edge of the vessel where material accumulates without being incorporated into the actual mixing process. PEEK is a common choice for the scraper edges; the plastic is chemically resistant and dimensionally stable enough to glide along the glass wall over many stirring cycles without scratching it. For formulation development in the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industries, where wall-adhering creams, gels or pastes are typical, this design is often the more practical choice compared to the standard anchor stirrer without a scraper. Weighing 0.134 kg, the stirrer is one of the lighter accessories in the LR-1000 range. Like all stirring tools in the system, it can be detached from the drive via the standardised stirring shaft coupling; this means it can be removed for cleaning or to switch to a different stirrer without the need for tools, simply by releasing the coupling at the end of the shaft. When switching between several formulations with different consistencies, this saves a considerable amount of time compared to a permanently fitted stirrer.CompatibilityAccording to IKA’s compatibility specifications, the anchor stirrer is compatible with both the LR 1000 basic system (ID No. 0020119960) and the LR 1000 control system (ID No. 0025001991), which also features vacuum operation and a pH connection. Both drive units use the same standardised stirrer shaft mount; the anchor stirrer can therefore be swapped between the systems without any modification to the reactor vessel. According to the manufacturer, the minimum volume for homogenisation is 400 ml; with smaller fill volumes in the vessel, contact between the scrapers and the vessel wall is not guaranteed over the entire height. Before placing an order, it is worth checking the identification number on the type plate of your own base unit, as IKA has produced several reactor series with similar designations over the years.Technical detailsDimensions (W x H x D)271 x 200 x 230 mmWeight0.134 kgMinimum volume for homogenisation400 mlScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.10 anchor stirrer with PEEK scrapersThe drive unit and reactor vessel are not included and must be ordered separately.Individual requirements and procurement serviceFor standard media without significant adhesion to the vessel walls, the simpler LR 1000.11 stainless steel anchor stirrer, without scrapers and at a lower purchase price, is generally sufficient. Those who regularly switch between formulations of varying viscosity often keep both versions in stock and swap the stirrer depending on the batch. If you have any questions regarding the appropriate model for your reactor system, spare parts or other LR 1000 accessories, our procurement service will be happy to assist, even for larger quantities for multiple reactor lines or when several accessories need to be procured together.
The LR 1000.11 is the standard stainless steel anchor stirrer for the IKA LR 1000 reactor system, without scrapers on the stirrer arms. It is the stirring tool supplied as standard with the LR 1000.1 reactor vessel, where it is used for mixing, dispersing and homogenising low- to medium-viscosity media. Without the additional wall scrapers found on the PEEK version, the design is simpler and, at 14 x 132 x 209 mm, also significantly more compact, an advantage when it comes to cleaning and storage as a spare part. For formulations without strong wall adhesion, this stirrer ensures uniform mixing without the need to scrape the vessel wall during stirring. As it features the same standardised stirrer shaft mount as the other LR-1000 stirring tools, it can be easily transferred between several reactor vessels within the same laboratory, for example whilst one vessel is being cleaned and a second is already running with the spare stirrer. Unlike with viscous formulations, for low- to medium-viscosity batches, the simple geometry without a scraper is sufficient to ensure uniform mixing; a side effect is that cleaning between different batches is easier, as fewer edges and transitions on the stirrer can trap residue.CompatibilityAccording to the manufacturer, the anchor stirrer is approved for use with the LR 1000 basic system (ID No. 0020119960) and the LR 1000 control system (ID No. 0025001991), in each case with a minimum volume of 400 ml for homogenisation. The scope of delivery of the LR 1000.1 reactor vessel includes this particular anchor stirrer as part of the scope of delivery; it is required separately as a spare part or for a second vessel. Checking the identification number of the existing base unit before ordering provides certainty, particularly if several reactor variants are in use in the laboratory. Compared with the Basic system, the LR 1000 control system also features vacuum operation and a pH connection; however, this difference is irrelevant for pure stirring operation with this anchor stirrer.Technical detailsDimensions (W x H x D)14 x 132 x 209 mmWeight0.1214 kgMinimum volume during homogenisation400 mlScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.11 anchor stirrerThe agitator drive and the reactor vessel are not included; both must be procured separately.Individual requirements and procurement serviceFor viscous, wall-adhering media, the variant LR 1000.10 with PEEK scrapers is the better choice, as it actively scrapes the product off the vessel wall. The LR 1000.11 can be reordered individually, either as a replacement part for an existing LR 1000.1 vessel or as a second stirrer for an additional reactor vessel. Our procurement service provides advice on spare parts and other accessories for your LR-1000 system, including where there are several reactor lines in the same laboratory or where there is a regular need for replacement stirrers. As stirring tools are subject to mechanical stress during continuous operation, many customers keep one or two spare stirrers in stock to avoid reactor downtime.
The LR 1000.20 flow breaker is a reactor lid fitting for the IKA LR-1000 system. It is fitted to the lid in addition to the anchor stirrer and reduces the formation of vortices within the reactor vessel, which otherwise occur as swirls around the stirrer shaft when handling low-viscosity media at higher speeds. Without a flow breaker, the entire contents of the vessel tend to rotate with the stirrer shaft in such batches, rather than being mixed transversely, which noticeably impairs the homogenisation effect and, depending on the formulation, leads to longer stirring times until uniform distribution is achieved. Weighing 0.3419 kg, the component is lightweight and can be inserted into one of the free lid openings with little effort, typically where a blind plug would otherwise be fitted. Unlike the anchor stirrer, which must be replaced to switch between the two versions, with and without a scraper, the flow breaker remains permanently mounted in the lid regardless of this and is only removed in the event of a fundamental change to the process. Flow breakers are also a common accessory for other stirred reactors outside the LR-1000 range; the basic principle, a fixed edge positioned across the flow within the vessel, functions regardless of the specific stirring tool. Checking the identification number of your own reactor system before ordering provides additional assurance.CompatibilityThe flow breaker is approved for both systems: the LR 1000 basic system (ID No. 0020119960) and the LR 1000 control system (ID No. 0025001991). It is used regardless of the anchor stirrer employed, both with the standard LR 1000.11 stirrer and with the variant featuring PEEK scrapers, as both require the same lid geometry. Compared to the basic system, the LR 1000 control system also features vacuum operation and a pH connection; this makes no difference to the fitting of the flow breaker.Technical detailsWeight0.3419 kgScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.20 flow breakerThe reactor vessel and anchor stirrer are not included and must be ordered separately.Individual requirements and procurement serviceThe flow breaker complements the LR 1000.1 and LR 1000.3 reactor vessels, both of which feature the same lid connection system. For low-viscosity, aqueous mixtures processed at high speeds, purchasing this component is usually more worthwhile than for viscous media, where vortex formation rarely occurs anyway. Anyone new to the LR 1000 system who is unable to assess whether their own process requires a flow breaker is advised to discuss this with the procurement service in advance. Our procurement service can answer any questions regarding further lid accessories for the LR-1000 system, even if it is still unclear whether your process would benefit from a flow breaker. A brief description of the medium used and the typical stirring speed is usually sufficient to facilitate an assessment; we will get back to you promptly to ensure that the correct part fits first time.
Like its sister version, the LR 1000.41, the LR 1000.40 FFKM shaft mount is used to install the S 25 KV dispersing tool in the lid of the IKA LR-1000 reactor, here featuring an FFKM seal instead of an FPM one. FFKM withstands more aggressive chemicals and higher temperatures than the standard material, FPM, and is therefore preferred when the medium used has a more corrosive effect on the seal, such as with certain solvents, concentrated acids or in batches with higher process temperatures, where a standard seal would age more quickly. The dimensions and weight are identical to those of the FPM version; the only difference lies in the seal material and the higher cost associated with the specialised FFKM material compared to FPM. As with the FPM version, this also creates a two-stage mixing process within the same vessel in conjunction with the anchor stirrer, but with a seal that can withstand even more demanding media over longer service life. Here too, dispersing tools such as the S 25 KV operate at significantly higher speeds than an anchor stirrer, thereby generating the shear forces required for fine emulsions; an intact seal is particularly important, especially with these more demanding media. Checking the identification number of your own reactor system before placing an order provides additional assurance.CompatibilityLike the FPM version, this shaft mount is also compatible with the LR 1000 basic system (ID no. 0020119960) and the LR 1000 control system (ID no. 0025001991). The S 25 KV dispersing tool is also operated separately in this case and is not included in the scope of delivery for this mount. With this variant, too, you must check in advance whether there is a free opening on your reactor lid for the mount. Compared to the basic system, the LR 1000 control system additionally features vacuum operation and a pH connection; however, this has no bearing on the installation of the shaft mount.Technical detailsDimensions (W x H x D)45 x 60 x 45 mmWeight0.41 kgSeal materialFFKMScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.40 FFKM shaft mountThe tool itself is not included in the scope of delivery; the mount merely provides the connection to the reactor lid.Individual requirements and procurement serviceFor less aggressive standard media, the more cost-effective LR 1000.41 shaft mount with an FPM seal is often sufficient; the FFKM version is particularly worthwhile for media that would corrode a standard seal over time. Our procurement service can help you select the right seal for your chemical and process temperature, even if you are unsure about the exact resistance of a medium or are switching to a new formulation with different chemicals. If you are unsure whether there is still a free lid connection available on your own reactor, a quick photo of the lid is usually more helpful than a description alone.
According to IKA, the S 25 KD - LR - 25 F (0025007322) has been specially developed for use in IKA laboratory reactors. It is slightly longer than the standard tools and therefore extends deeper into the reactor, enabling even small sample volumes to be processed.Length and immersion depthThe installation length is 267 mm, and the immersion depth ranges from 40 to 220 mm. The shorter S 25 KD - 25 F has an installation length of 194 mm and an immersion depth of 40 to 165 mm. According to IKA, the new design of the KD tools makes disassembly and cleaning easier. The tool may be operated under vacuum down to 100 mbar.F-rotor and finenessAccording to IKA, the F tool achieves an even finer particle size compared with the G tools. The final fineness ranges from 5 to 25 µm for suspensions and from 1 to 5 µm for emulsions. Stator 25 mm, rotor 18 mm, gap 0.5 mm; at 25,000 rpm, peripheral speeds of up to 23.6 m/s are achieved.Materials and limit valuesMaterials in contact with the product are FFPM, PTFE and AISI 316L; the tool is FDA-compliant according to the manufacturer. Promotional items from the IKA Specials Q4/2026, valid until 31 December 2026. The crossed-out price is IKA’s recommended retail price. Our promotional price is net.The IKA VACSTAR lite Starter Solution (MPN 0010014496) is a pre-assembled entry-level vacuum package for everyday laboratory use: a compact, oil-free diaphragm vacuum pump combined with the VSE 1 emission condenser. For example, anyone working with a rotary evaporator or setting up a filtration system does not need to purchase and set up the condenser separately, but can put the set into operation straight away. The pump thus handles standard tasks such as filtration, drying in a vacuum drying oven or evacuating Schlenk lines, without allowing solvent vapours to escape unfiltered into the ambient air. Compact two-cylinder pump with robust suction capacity At its core is a dry two-cylinder diaphragm pump with a maximum pumping speed of 1.0 cubic metres per hour (16.67 litres per minute) and an ultimate vacuum of 9 mbar without gas ballast. The speed can be continuously adjusted via a rotary knob; the speed range is between 285 and 1,100 revolutions per minute, with a rated speed of 1,100 rpm. This is sufficient for most routine laboratory tasks, but is clearly intended for applications that do not require extremely low ultimate vacuums, such as simple filtration or the drying off of solvents at moderate temperatures. VSE 1 emission condenser protects laboratory air and the environment The VSE 1 vacuum safety emission condenser included in the set captures solvent vapours before they are released into the room air via the pump. This not only protects staff health but also allows the condensed solvent to be recovered rather than wasted. Particularly when working with volatile organic solvents in fume hoods or on rotary evaporators, this significantly reduces consumption and the volume of waste to be disposed of, without the need to procure and adapt a separate component. Chemical-resistant and low-maintenance in continuous operation As a dry-running pump, the VACSTAR lite operates entirely without operating oil, thus eliminating the need for oil changes, waste oil disposal and the risk of sample contamination from oil vapours. All parts in contact with the medium are made of Al₂O₃, PTFE, FFPM, PPS and NBR, whilst the housing is made of coated die-cast aluminium and thermoplastic. This combination of materials makes the pump highly resistant to aggressive chemicals and solvent vapours and significantly reduces maintenance requirements during continuous operation. Space-saving and easy to integrate Measuring 115 x 292 x 280 millimetres and weighing 8.5 kilograms, the VACSTAR lite fits even on small work surfaces or directly inside a fume hood. Connections are made via 8-millimetre hose connections on the suction and discharge sides; the housing is rated to IP 20. With a sound pressure level of 54 dB(A) at low pressure, the pump remains pleasantly quiet even during continuous operation next to the workstation. A USB interface and an analogue input are available for connection to external control systems, for example if a digital vacuum controller is to be retrofitted at a later date. Simple operation with no training required The ‘lite’ version deliberately omits a digital display and focuses purely on functionality: a rotary knob continuously adjusts the speed and thus the pumping capacity, whilst a non-return valve protects the system against backflow when the pump is switched off. This makes the pump particularly suitable for workstations where several people with varying levels of experience use the same unit, for example during practical sessions or in teams with frequently changing personnel. Wide range of applications in everyday laboratory work IKA positions the VACSTAR-lite series as a universal vacuum source for use with rotary evaporators, laboratory reactors, temperature-controlled chambers, centrifuges and other laboratory equipment. Manual operation via the rotary knob means the pump does not require additional control software and is therefore ready for immediate use as soon as it is connected to a device. For workstations where more precise, automated process control is required at a later stage, an external vacuum controller can be retrofitted via the analogue interface if necessary, without having to replace the pump itself. Typical applications As an entry-level solution for generating vacuum in the laboratory, the VACSTAR lite Starter Solution is particularly suitable for the following applications: Vacuum filtration in routine analysis, for example when filtering precipitates Support for rotary evaporators for moderate distillation tasks Drying of samples or glassware in a vacuum drying oven Evacuating Schlenk lines and simple desiccators An introduction to vacuum technology for training and teaching, thanks to simple rotary knob operation requiring no lengthy familiarisation Technical details Pump type2-cylinder diaphragm vacuum pump, dry Max. pumping speed (50/60 Hz)1.0 m³/h (16.67 l/min) Ultimate vacuum without gas ballast9 mbar Stages / cylinders2 / 2 Inlet pressure10 to 1,030 mbar Speed range285 to 1,100 rpm (rated speed 1,100 rpm) ControlContinuously variable speed control via rotary knob, two-point control Suction/discharge connectionHose nozzle Ø 8 mm Materials in contact with the productAl₂O₃, PTFE, FFPM, PPS, NBR Housing materialCoated die-cast aluminium / thermoplastic Dimensions (W x H x D)115 x 292 x 280 mm Weight8.5 kg Degree of protection according to DIN EN 60529IP 20 Sound pressure level at low pressure54 dB(A) Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Permissible relative humidity80 % (up to 31 °C), decreasing linearly to a maximum of 50 % (at 40 °C) InterfacesUSB, analogue input Voltage / Frequency100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz Device power consumption120 W (5 W on standby) Scope of delivery 1 x IKA VACSTAR lite vacuum pump 1 x VSE 1 vacuum safety emission condenser 1 x vacuum hose 1 x power supply unit Operating instructions Individual requirements and procurement service If you wish to control the VACSTAR lite automatically at a later date, you can retrofit it with a digital vacuum controller such as the VC 10 lite, for example to set programmed ramp profiles on the rotary evaporator. The IKA S 25 KD - LR - 18 G (MPN 0025007071) is a vacuum-tight dispersing tool for use in closed laboratory reactors. The ball bearing assembly, featuring a PTFE seal and an FFKM O-ring, maintains a stable vacuum or inert gas atmosphere within the reactor, whilst the coarse slot geometry (18 G) on the stator ensures high throughput when processing coarse-grained or fibrous feedstocks. All parts in contact with the medium are made of AISI 316L stainless steel, PTFE and FFKM, and are therefore also resistant to aggressive solvents. Suitable for The IKA T 25 digital LR disperser system for laboratory reactors (MPN 0020008820), for which this tool was designed, is confirmed as compatible. The connection geometry is also identical to that of the standard drives in the T 25 series: IKA T 25 digital (MPN 0003725000), IKA T 25 easy clean digital (MPN 0025002560) and IKA T 25 easy clean control (MPN 0025002500). The LR 1000.61 probe holder is used to install the PT 100.5 temperature sensor in the lid of the IKA LR-1000 reactor. Instead of a blind plug, the holder is inserted into one of the lid openings; the FPM seal seals the junction between the sensor shaft and the lid. The PT 100.5 probe allows the medium temperature inside the reactor vessel to be measured directly whilst stirring, rather than simply estimating it based on the heating bath temperature of the drive; this is particularly relevant for exothermic or temperature-critical reactions, for example, when a reaction must be stopped if a certain temperature is exceeded. Weighing 0.166 kg and with a depth of 28 mm, the holder is a compact component that takes up hardly any additional space in the lid. Direct temperature measurement within the medium is usually more accurate than a calculation based on the jacket or bath temperature of the drive, because heat transfer through the glass and the medium itself takes time and therefore reflects the actual reaction temperature with a delay. PT-100 sensors are among the most common temperature sensors in laboratory and process environments; their accuracy and long-term stability make them the standard choice for continuous temperature monitoring. Checking the identification number of your own reactor system before ordering provides additional assurance.CompatibilityAccording to the description, the holder is intended for installing the temperature sensor in the reactor lid, making it plausible for use on the LR 1000 basic system and the LR 1000 control system, although there is no specific manufacturer’s confirmation for this. Before ordering, it is worth checking which lid connection on the relevant reactor vessel is available for this purpose, particularly if a flow breaker or another holder is already fitted. As several lid connections on the LR 1000 system share the same basic geometry, the position of the probe holder in the lid can often be chosen flexibly.Technical detailsDepth28 mmWeight0.166 kgSeal materialFPMScope of delivery1 x LR 1000.61 probe holderThe PT 100.5 temperature sensor is not included and is required separately.Individual requirements and procurement serviceThis holder is designed for the PT 100.5 temperature probe, not for a pH probe: for this purpose, the separate LR 1000.65 probe holder is available, featuring a different internal thread and design. If you are unsure which holder is suitable for your sensor, or if there is no suitable free port on the reactor vessel, our procurement service can assist you, including when planning multiple measurement points on a reactor lid, for example where temperature and pH are to be measured simultaneously. A quick photo of the existing reactor lid often makes it easier to assess which opening is still available.
