Promotional items from the IKA Specials Q4/2026, valid until 31 December 2026. The crossed-out price is IKA’s recommended retail price. Our promotional price is net.

The IKA PEN electronic single-channel pipette (MPN 0020025103), with a volume range of 10 to 200 µl, covers the upper microlitre segment, which is frequently required in everyday laboratory work for larger reagent additions, buffer changes or the preparation of cell culture media. As an air cushion pipette with an electronic micro drive, it operates with a step size of 0.1 µl and is tested according to ISO 8655. With a net weight of 78 grams without the pipette tip, this model from the IKA PEN range, with its pen-shaped housing, remains pleasantly light in the hand, even when larger volumes need to be pipetted repeatedly during day-to-day work. This makes the model particularly suitable for workstations where larger individual volumes in the three-digit microlitre range are regularly required. The 0.1 µl increment is designed to meet practical requirements for this volume range and reliably covers the dosing needs typical of cell culture and buffer preparation.

Slim pen-style design even for larger volumes

Even in the higher microlitre range, the IKA PEN retains its slim, pen-shaped housing. The natural grip reduces strain on the forearm and wrist and is particularly noticeable when larger volumes have to be pipetted repeatedly during day-to-day work, for example when changing media in cell culture, preparing buffer solutions or loading several reaction vessels in succession. The low weight of 78 grams without the pipette tip helps ensure that even longer pipetting runs can be managed without noticeable fatigue. In laboratories with a rotating staff, users with different hand sizes also benefit equally from the slim, ergonomic design. The reduced hand fatigue is a particular advantage in cell culture work, where clean, controlled movements are essential.

DLC-coated stainless steel piston for consistent results

The piston, made of high-purity stainless steel, is sealed with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating, which reduces wear during continuous operation and increases chemical resistance to frequently pipetted media. At a nominal volume of 200 µl, the pipette achieves an accuracy of ±1.2 µl (±0.6 %) and a precision of ±0.4 µl (±0.2 %). At 10 % of the nominal volume, i.e. 20 µl, the accuracy and precision are ±0.5 µl (±2.5 %) and ±0.14 µl (±0.7 %) respectively. Even with larger volumes, this ensures that the volume delivery remains consistent throughout the entire pipetting process, which has a direct impact on the reproducibility of buffer preparations and medium changes. The shaft components are partially autoclavable, allowing the device to be integrated into existing cleaning procedures. For cell culture work under a laminar flow cabinet, this compatibility with standard cleaning and disinfection steps is a practical advantage.

App control and battery life in practical use

This model can also be paired with a smartphone or tablet via the IKA PEN app, which simplifies parameter setting. The replaceable lithium-ion battery, with a capacity of 350 mAh at 3.7 V, enables up to 8 hours of operation with a charging time of around 3 hours, thus reliably covering even the busiest days in the laboratory. For laboratories using multiple IKA PEN pipettes, the app also makes it easier to keep track of the charge status and calibration history of the individual devices.

Traceability and quality assurance in everyday laboratory work

According to the datasheet, a conformity certificate in accordance with ISO 8655 is available for the IKA PEN. A factory calibration certificate is not part of the standard scope of delivery; IKA offers factory calibration certificates as a separately orderable service that is issued together with the product.

IKA PEN.Stand, space-saving laboratory stand for the IKA PEN electronic pipette, 0020133075
Manufacturer number: 0020133075

The IKA PEN.Stand (MPN 0020133075) is a statically optimised, structurally stable, space-saving system solution, for the safe vertical storage of an electronic IKA PEN pipette. In professional liquid-handling routines, the correct storage of high-precision electronic dispensing systems is a critical factor in maintaining the long-term value of the instruments. This compact stand effectively protects the pipette’s delicate pen-shaped housing from rolling off the edge of the table uncontrollably, from mechanical shocks and from transient surface contamination on the laboratory bench. Maximum stability with minimal footprint The mechanical design of the PEN.Stand is consistently optimised for compactness and stability. Thanks to a perfectly balanced weight of 0.19 kg (190 grams), the stand has a low centre of gravity. This reliably prevents unexpected tipping over when the pipetting device is quickly inserted or removed during time-critical analysis runs. Its minimalist design ensures that valuable work surface space on the laboratory bench or beneath the laminar flow cabinet (cleanbench) is preserved as much as possible, without compromising on mechanical load-bearing capacity. Contamination protection and rigorous hygiene management From a process engineering perspective, the IKA PEN.Stand contributes to hygiene at the workstation. The upright, free-hanging positioning prevents the pipette shaft or tip ejector from coming into direct contact with potentially contaminated work surfaces. The stand’s smooth, non-porous surfaces are made of highly resistant materials that are chemically resistant to typical laboratory cleaning agents and disinfectants. This enables rapid, residue-free cleaning and sterilisation of the holder. IKA PEN.WiCo wireless control button for IKA PEN electronic pipettes, 0020118751
Manufacturer number: 0020118751

The IKA PEN.WiCo (MPN 0020118751) is a highly innovative, mechatronic, wireless control solution for advanced liquid handling in modern laboratory environments. Designed as an intelligent, external control button, this ultra-compact module can either be attached directly to the housing of the IKA PEN electronic pipette or operated as an alternative control unit, completely independently and without being tied to the position of the dispensing device. For demanding, highly repetitive pipetting protocols in the field of high-throughput screening or biochemical analysis, this remote control button provides the ergonomic foundation for reliably minimising signs of fatigue among laboratory staff. Ergonomic relief for repetitive dispensing tasks The primary technical objective of the PEN.WiCo is to significantly reduce biomechanical strain on the thumb. In conventional pipetting procedures, the constant, repetitive pressing of the trigger button whilst holding a raised pipette leads to muscle fatigue over time. The wireless control button breaks this rigid coupling: Analysts can hold the IKA PEN pipette in a relaxed position, whilst the actual dispensing process is triggered gently and comfortably via the PEN.WiCo, which can be placed independently on the laboratory bench or positioned flexibly. This ensures a noticeably smoother workflow and fatigue-free working in multi-user operation. Reliable wireless communication and efficient energy management The module’s electronic system architecture is based on wireless Wi-Fi connectivity, which provides a stable communication range of up to 1 metre (depending on the building). The ultra-compact housing, weighing just 10 grams, incorporates a highly efficient energy management system. The integrated lithium-polymer (LiPo) battery provides a remarkable continuous operating time of up to 14 hours. Recharging is carried out via a future-proof, standardised USB-C interface and takes just 1.5 hours, thereby reliably preventing system failures in day-to-day laboratory operations. Robust housing design for long-term laboratory use Despite its compact dimensions, the PEN.WiCo is consistently designed for unrestricted routine industrial use. The housing complies with degree of protection IP 40 in accordance with DIN EN 60529 and is specified for a continuous duty cycle of 100 %. The non-porous material surfaces are resistant to common disinfectants and cleaning agents, allowing for rapid and residue-free wipe disinfection as part of hygiene management. Promotional items from the IKA Specials Q4/2026, valid until 31 December 2026. The price shown with a line through it is IKA’s recommended retail price. Our promotional price is net. With its volume range of 5 to 100 µl, the IKA PEN electronic single-channel pipette (MPN 0020025102) covers the mid-microlitre range, which is particularly frequently used in routine biochemical and biotechnological laboratory work, for example when pipetting reagents in ELISA procedures or when preparing dilution series for protein analysis. As an air cushion pipette with an electronic micro drive, it operates with a step size of 0.1 µl and is tested according to ISO 8655. With a net weight of 78 grams excluding the pipette tip, the pen-shaped housing remains comfortably light in the hand even during long pipetting runs, setting it apart from traditional, heavier piston-operated pipettes. This makes the model particularly suitable for workstations where medium volumes are pipetted regularly in large sample numbers. The 0.1 µl increment, which is coarser than that of the ultra-low-volume variant in the series, is well suited to this volume range and reliably meets the dosing requirements typical of ELISA and protein assays. Slim pen-style design for long pipetting runs Instead of the classic pistol shape, this model in the IKA PEN range also features a slim, pen-shaped body. As a result, the grip feels more natural in the hand and reduces strain on the forearm and wrist, a particular advantage during routine operations where many samples need to be pipetted consecutively in consistent volumes, such as in screening tests, assay preparations or the loading of microtitre plates. Over the course of an entire pipetting run, the lower weight of 78 grams (excluding the pipette tip) results in a noticeably reduced strain on the hand and arm. In laboratories with rotating staff, the slim, ergonomic design also benefits users with different hand sizes equally. DLC-coated stainless steel piston for consistent volumes The piston, made of high-purity stainless steel, is coated with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) layer, which reduces friction during the piston stroke and ensures a chemically inert, low-wear surface. At a nominal volume of 100 µl, the pipette achieves an accuracy of ±0.8 µl (±0.8 %) and a precision of ±0.2 µl (±0.2 %). At 10 % of the nominal volume, i.e. 10 µl, the accuracy and precision are ±0.2 µl (±2.0 %) and ±0.1 µl (±1.0 %) respectively, which is relevant for dilution series with varying sub-volumes. Particularly in assay formats involving many parallel runs, consistent volume accuracy has a direct impact on the comparability of measurement results. Even with slightly more viscous reagents, this ensures that volume dispensing remains uniform throughout the entire pipetting process. The shaft components are partially autoclavable and can therefore be incorporated into standard laboratory cleaning and sterilisation routines. App control and battery life in practical use This pipette can also be paired with a smartphone or tablet via the IKA PEN app, which simplifies parameter setting. The replaceable lithium-ion battery, with a capacity of 350 mAh at 3.7 V, lasts for up to 8 hours and is fully recharged in around 3 hours, allowing even longer series of measurements to be carried out without the need for recharging. For laboratories using several IKA PEN pipettes, the app also makes it easier to keep track of the charge status and calibration history of the individual devices. Traceability and quality assurance in everyday laboratory work According to the datasheet, a conformity certificate in accordance with ISO 8655 is available for the IKA PEN. IKA PEN 0.5–10 µl single-channel electronic pipette, air-cushion operated, 0020025101
Manufacturer number: 0020025101

Promotional items from the IKA Specials Q4/2026, valid until 31 December 2026. The crossed-out price is IKA’s recommended retail price. Our promotional price is net.The IKA PEN electronic single-channel pipette (MPN 0020025101) is designed for the microlitre range from 0.5 to 10 µl and thus covers typical microvolumes used in molecular biology, such as in PCR reactions or when adding enzymes and primers to a reaction mixture. As an air cushion pipette with an electronic micro drive, it operates with a fine increment of 0.01 µl and is tested according to ISO 8655. The slim, pen-shaped body weighs just 76 grams without the pipette tip, making it noticeably lighter to hold than traditional, pistol-shaped piston-operated pipettes, an advantage during frequently repeated pipetting steps in everyday laboratory work. This makes the model particularly suitable for workstations where very small volumes need to be reliably reproduced on a regular basis. Slim pen-style design for fatigue-free pipetting Instead of the traditional pistol shape, the IKA PEN features a slim, pen-like body. As a result, the grip feels different and, for many users, more natural in the hand, which reduces strain on the forearm and wrist during long, repetitive pipetting sequences. Anyone who pipettes many samples in series every day, for example, when preparing multiple PCR reactions or creating dilution series in the microlitre range, benefits from reduced effort per pipetting step. The low weight of 76 grams (excluding the pipette tip) further enhances this effect, as less muscle strength is required to hold and guide the pipette throughout the working day. In laboratories where several users share a single instrument, such as in shift work, this ergonomic design is particularly beneficial, as it accommodates different hand sizes and gripping habits equally well. DLC-coated stainless steel piston for reproducible results Volume dispensing is handled by a piston made of high-purity stainless steel, which is sealed with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating. This coating reduces friction in the narrow microlitre range and ensures a chemically inert, low-wear surface, which enhances the reproducibility of pipetted volumes over many cycles. At a nominal volume of 10 µl, the pipette achieves an accuracy of ±0.1 µl (±1.0 %) and a precision of ±0.04 µl (±0.4 %). Even at the lower end of the measuring range, at 10 % of the nominal volume (1 µl), accuracy and precision remain within a range suitable for practical use with ultra-low volumes, at ±0.025 µl (±2.5 %) and ±0.018 µl (±1.8 %). This reproducibility is particularly important for downstream analyses such as quantitative PCR, as even small deviations in the volume used can skew the results. The shaft components are partially autoclavable, which facilitates cleaning as part of contamination control. App control and battery life for everyday use The pipette can be paired with a smartphone or tablet via the IKA PEN app. The app enhances the user interface with a larger display and simplified controls, making it easier to set parameters than using the pipette’s small display alone. The removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, with a capacity of 350 mAh at 3.7 V, enables up to 8 hours of continuous operation and is fully recharged in around 3 hours, ensuring the pipette remains operational throughout a full day in the laboratory, without the need to keep a spare battery on hand.
