Some laboratory vessels, such as tall graduated cylinders, long-necked round-bottom flasks or upright test tube racks, need more immersion depth than a shallow standard bath can offer. The IKA plastic bath IB HF 24 eco (MPN 20006884) is designed for exactly this case: a tall form with 24 litres of volume and a bath depth of 200 millimetres, considerably more than the identical-design standard bath IB 18 eco with a depth of only 150 millimetres at a similar footprint. The letters HF in the name stand for this tall design, a direct indication of the most important difference from the shallower models of the eco series. Instead of tilting a vessel or immersing it only partially, the additional depth makes it possible to achieve uniform temperature control over the entire fill height even with upright, tall containers.
Tall form for deeply immersed vessels
With internal dimensions of 490 x 286 x 200 millimetres, the IB HF 24 eco offers a bath depth 50 millimetres greater than the standard bath IB 18 eco at an almost identical footprint. This is particularly noticeable with vessels whose contents should lie as completely as possible below the bath surface, for example tall graduated cylinders or long-necked flasks, which would only be partially immersed in a shallower bath. The external dimensions are 584 x 338 x 205 millimetres, so that despite the additional height the bath can be used without significantly more space than the standard model. Anyone who already has experience with the IB 18 eco will therefore quickly find their way around the IB HF 24 eco, without having to rearrange the workstation.
24 litre plastic bath for the aqueous range
Like the other baths of the eco series, the IB HF 24 eco is made of robust plastic, approved for a maximum of 100 degrees Celsius and intended exclusively for operation with water. With a capacity of 24 litres it lies between the more compact IB 18 eco with 18 litres and the large-volume IB R 52 eco with 52 litres, and is therefore suitable for applications where neither a very small nor a particularly large bath would be the right choice, but the additional immersion depth is needed.
Combination with an immersion circulator
The IB HF 24 eco is also supplied as a bath vessel only, without its own heating, and becomes a complete circulating bath in combination with an IKA immersion circulator. The tall form additionally makes it easier to hang the circulator head, as more free depth is available for the immersion length of the heating and circulation unit without it touching the bottom of the bath. Particularly with circulators with a longer immersion shaft, this is a practical advantage over the shallower baths of the series. As with all baths of the IB series, the circulator chosen ultimately determines how quickly the bath heats up and how stably the target temperature is maintained over the entire bath depth.
Placement in the IKA IB series
Within the eco series, the IB HF 24 eco is the only bath with an expressly tall design, while the IB 18 eco and IB R 52 eco rely on a bath depth of 150 and 300 millimetres respectively, each with a different volume. Anyone who values a large footprint above all, for example for many shallow vessels standing side by side, is better served by the IB 18 eco or the IB R 52 eco, while the IB HF 24 eco is specifically the right choice for tall, narrow vessels where immersion depth is more important than a wide footprint.

Fits
The ICC control (MPN 0004136600) is a compact immersion circulator for temperature control of liquids in open or semi-open bath vessels up to 150 °C. It has a TFT display, a temperature stability of ±0.01 K according to DIN 12876 and an integrated pressure/suction pump. The bath vessel is not included in the scope of delivery, and the circulator is clamped to an existing vessel.Mounting on the bath vesselThe circulator is attached to the bath vessel with a holding clip, and the clamping width of the universal clamp is 0 to 40 mm. The ICC 150 lite (MPN 0020105581) belongs to the lite series of IKA immersion circulators, which is designed for the essential basic functions. It controls the temperature of liquids from room temperature to 150 °C with 2000 W heating power, has a built-in pressure/suction pump and is approved for flammable liquids according to DIN 12876 class III. The housing is made of coated stainless steel.Overflow protection and safety circuitThe circulator detects an overflow of the bath, for example due to an unintentionally increased amount of oil, and safely switches off the heating. It also monitors for low level. The safety circuit is adjustable from 0 to 160 °C, and warnings are visual and audible. A PT1000 measures both the working and the safety temperature.Display and controlThe LED display shows working and safety temperature with a resolution of 0.1 K, and the set temperature can be set to an accuracy of 0.1 K. Not every application needs a complete bath package, sometimes a compact immersion circulator that can be clamped to an existing vessel is enough. The IKA ICC 100 lite (MPN 20105647) is designed for exactly this: a stand-alone, compact immersion circulator for temperature control of liquids up to 100 degrees Celsius, without its own bath in the scope of delivery. With a heating power of 2000 watts, a clamp mounting for wall thicknesses of 0 to 40 millimetres and a weight of only 4.2 kilograms, the device can be integrated into existing vessels for which no separate IKA bath is to be purchased. Heating power 2000 watts up to 100 degrees Celsius The ICC 100 lite covers a working temperature range from room temperature to 100 degrees Celsius and holds the temperature via PID control with a stability of ±0.05 kelvin to DIN 12876. The target temperature can be set with a resolution of 0.1 kelvin, and the LED display shows the current temperature with the same resolution. With external cooling, the operating temperature can be lowered to minus 25 degrees Celsius. Safety to DIN 12876 Class III The device is classified to DIN 12876 in Class III and marked FL, meaning it is approved for use with flammable liquids. Both the working and the safety temperature probe use PT1000 sensors, and an adjustable safety circuit from 0 to 110 degrees Celsius as well as visual and audible warning functions provide additional protection against over-temperature. Low-level protection monitors the fill level in the connected bath. Compact design for flexible integration With dimensions of 135 x 303 x 180 millimetres and a weight of 4.2 kilograms, the ICC 100 lite is one of the most compact devices in the ICC series. The housing is made of powder-coated stainless steel, and an integrated stand foot makes cleaning easier and protects important components from damage. The clamp mounting covers a range of 0 to 40 millimetres and can therefore be adapted to bath walls of different thickness. The minimum bath depth is 150 millimetres. Interfaces for monitoring and documentation Via the USB-B and RS 232 interfaces, the ICC 100 lite can be connected to a PC, for example to monitor and control temperature profiles or to record them for documentation.
