IKA ROLLER 6 basic Roller Shaker, 6 Rollers, Fixed Speed 30 rpm, 0004010000

Product information "IKA ROLLER 6 basic Roller Shaker, 6 Rollers, Fixed Speed 30 rpm, 0004010000"

On the IKA ROLLER 6 basic, the tubes or bottles rest on six rollers, which rotate them slowly whilst allowing them to rock gently. The speed is fixed at 30 rpm; there is no control or display. Switch on the unit, place the containers on it, and let it run: this suits workstations where the same gentle motion is always required and there are no parameters to manage.

Six rollers with a gentle rocking and rolling motion

The rollers have a diameter of 32 mm and a length of 327 mm; the usable working area is 350 mm long. The tilt angle is fixed at 3 degrees, and the stroke at the end of the roller is 16 mm. This ensures that the contents of the vessels remain in gentle, steady motion. The rollers are easy to remove. This makes cleaning up after spilled samples easier and frees up space for larger tubes.

Continuous operation in the incubator

The permissible duty cycle is 100 %, and the ambient temperature range is 4 to 50 °C. The ROLLER 6 basic may therefore be operated in an incubator when samples need to remain in motion at a constant temperature for extended periods. It is operated via a membrane keypad. With a power consumption of 24 W, a mains supply of 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz and degree of protection IP 21 in accordance with DIN EN 60529, it is designed for standard laboratory use. Measuring 240 x 115 x 545 mm and weighing 4.563 kg, it is significantly narrower than the units with 10 rollers.

Typical applications

IKA lists the mixing of blood samples, solid and liquid suspensions, and viscous substances as its areas of application. Specifically, the ROLLER 6 basic is suitable for the following tasks:

  • Mixing blood samples in tubes
  • Maintaining suspensions consisting of solid and liquid components
  • Mixing viscous substances
  • Rolling cylindrical bottles
  • Continuous agitation of standard test tubes at 4 to 50 °C, including in an incubator

Choice within the ROLLER range

If you want to rotate more vessels at the same time, choose the ROLLER 10 basic: it also operates at a fixed speed, but has 10 rollers instead of 6 and is 380 mm wide. If you require adjustable speed and running time, the ROLLER 10 digital is an option; it is adjustable from 5 to 80 rpm and features a timer. For tubes up to 50 ml with a freely tiltable turntable, the Loopster digital is the alternative model.
