The KERN DAB 100-3 (MPN DAB 100-3) is the high-resolution version of the successful DAB series. It has been developed for laboratories and quality control applications where every tenth of a per cent counts. With an outstanding readability of 0.001 g (corresponding to 0.01% moisture), this halogen moisture analyser delivers accurate and highly reproducible results. Whether for testing plastic granules (residual moisture prior to injection moulding), in the food industry or for analysing building materials – the instrument guarantees maximum reliability with a weighing range of up to 110 g.

Rapid halogen drying

A powerful 400-watt halogen quartz glass lamp.

• Speed: Halogen heats up extremely quickly and brings your sample to the desired target temperature without any preheating time.
• Uniformity: The heat is distributed evenly across the 90 mm sample dish, ensuring uniform evaporation of the moisture.
• Flexibility: The drying temperature can be precisely adjusted in 1 °C increments from 40 °C to 199 °C .

Graphic display for intuitive operation

Despite its high precision, the DAB 100-3 is incredibly easy to use. The backlit graphic LCD guides you visually through the entire measurement process. You always have all the critical parameters at a glance:

Automate routine measurements

To make your day-to-day laboratory work easier, the instrument offers extensive storage and automation functions:

• Shut-off criteria: The instrument stops fully automatically when the sample’s weight remains constant over a defined period. Alternatively, a time-controlled or manual shut-off is possible.
• 15 programme memories: Store up to 15 complete drying profiles (temperature, duration, shutdown criterion) for your most frequently used samples in the internal memory. A single press of a button is all it takes to start the routine measurement.
• Viewing window: Allows visual inspection of the sample at any time during drying.

Custom requirements & accessories

To make full use of the high accuracy of 0.001 g, we recommend using round glass fibre filters (as a suction pad for liquid/paste-like samples or as a splash guard). For complete GLP documentation, you can connect the device to a KERN matrix printer via the RS-232 interface. Make sure you also stock up on sufficient spare aluminium trays straight away.
