The KERN DAB 100-3IR (MPN DAB 100-3IR) is the specialist solution for laboratories that demand the highest standards of accuracy whilst analysing temperature-sensitive samples. With outstanding readability of 0.001 g (corresponding to 0.01% moisture) and a weighing range of up to 110 g, it meets the most demanding quality control requirements. Its key feature, however, is its heating system: a 400-watt infrared heater that dries the sample particularly gently.

Why use infrared technology for high-precision measurements?

With a resolution of 0.001 g, even the slightest burning of the sample dramatically distorts the measurement result. Infrared heat penetrates the sample more evenly than conventional halogen light.

• No burning: Dark, light-absorbing samples dry thoroughly without charring on the surface.
• No crust formation: With sugary or pasty substances (e.g. in food analysis), IR prevents the formation of a crust that would block the escape of residual moisture.
• Temperature range: The drying temperature can be precisely adjusted in 1 °C increments from 40 °C to 199 °C.

Operating the DAB 100-3IR is intuitive and safe. The backlit graphic LCD guides you through the measurement process and displays all key parameters in real time:

Save time in your day-to-day laboratory work with intelligent automation features:

• Shut-off criteria: The balance automatically detects when the weight remains constant and terminates the measurement. Time-controlled or manual stops can also be selected.
• 15 programme memories: Save complete drying profiles (temperature, stop criteria) for your 15 most common samples. A single press of a button is all it takes to start.
• GLP documentation: Via the RS-232 interface, reports can be sent to a printer or PC in accordance with standards (including date and time).
