The KERN DAB 200-2 (MPN DAB 200-2) is the ideal drying balance for the rapid and reliable determination of moisture content in industry, agriculture and routine laboratory work. Whether for food quality control, testing plastic granules prior to injection moulding or analysing biomass – this halogen moisture analyser delivers reproducible results in the shortest possible time. A particular advantage of this model is its unusually large weighing range of 200 g, which also allows the analysis of bulky or heavy samples without any problems.

High-performance halogen technology

A 400-watt halogen quartz glass lamp.

• Speed: Compared to infrared emitters, halogen heats up extremely quickly and reaches the target temperature without a long warm-up time.
• Uniformity: The heat is distributed evenly across the entire sample dish (Ø 90 mm), which prevents localised burning of the sample and guarantees accurate measurement results (readability 0.01 g / 0.05% moisture).
• Temperature range: The drying temperature can be set in 1 °C increments from 40 °C to 199 °C.

The backlit graphic LCD makes operation safe and simple, even for untrained staff. You can see all key parameters at a glance whilst the measurement is in progress:

Intelligent drying profiles and memory

To ensure the optimal method is used for every material (from delicate coffee powder to robust sewage sludge), the KERN DAB 200-2 offers:

• Shut-off criteria: Fully automatic (the balance stops when the weight remains constant), time-controlled (e.g. exactly 15 minutes) or manual.
• Drying programmes: You can store up to 15 complete drying programmes in the internal memory. This allows you to simply select the appropriate programme for routine samples at the touch of a button.
• Measurement memory: The last 5 measurement results are automatically saved.

Easy cleaning and documentation

Via the RS-232 interface, drying logs can be sent to a printer or PC in a GLP-compliant format, including date and time. The viewing window on the sample chamber allows for constant visual monitoring. Should anything go wrong during sample preparation, the stainless steel parts in the sample chamber can be easily removed and cleaned.

Individual requirements & accessories

The aluminium sample pans are consumables. Be sure to order a bulk pack (e.g. 80 pieces) straight away to ensure uninterrupted operation. For regular checking of the balance, we recommend a test weight (200 g, Class F1) and a temperature calibration kit from KERN. Please contact our procurement service.
