Product information "Kern PCB 3000-2 Compact Laboratory Balance, 3,600 g / 0.01 g, Weighing Surface 130 x 130 mm"
The Kern PCB 3000-2 has a weighing range of 3,600 g and a readability of 0.01 g. The reproducibility is 0.02 g.
Accuracy and weighing performance
Linearity is ± 0.05 g, and the stabilisation time under laboratory conditions is 3 seconds. After switching on, the balance requires a warm-up time of 120 minutes. Kern specifies the minimum weight according to USP as 40 g; the tare range covers the entire weighing range up to 3,600 g. An anti-shock system between the weighing plate and the load cell reduces vibrations during weighing. The stainless steel weighing plate measures 130 x 130 mm; a spirit level and swivelling screw feet assist with levelling.
Location and vibrations
For unstable installation sites, Kern offers the YPS-04 and YPS-05 anti-vibration plates, as well as the YPS-03 anti-vibration table, which absorb shocks and vibrations that might otherwise distort the weighing result. The balance itself operates at temperatures ranging from -10 °C to 40 °C and at humidity levels of up to 80 per cent; the display does not have an IP rating.
Calibration
Calibration is carried out externally; a 2 kg weight of class F1 is recommended. The 326-12 single weight (F1, 2 kg, Eco-Form, polished stainless steel) is suitable for this, as is the Safety Set 315-312-407 with 100 g (M1) and 2,000 g (F2). A DAkkS calibration is available under item no. 963-127.
High-resolution piece counting
The counting resolution is 180,000. The minimum piece weight is 200 mg; under laboratory conditions, it is 20 mg. With PRE-TARE, a known container weight is subtracted in advance; the recipe function weighs in several ingredients one after the other and displays the total weight for verification. When weighing within a tolerance range, a visual signal indicates when the target weight has been reached; the optional CFS-A03 signal lamp provides additional confirmation.
Data connection and power
Adapters for RS-232, USB devices, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth BLE 4.0 can be plugged into the KUP slot (KUP-01, KUP-03, KUP-04, KUP-05, KUP-06). The KUP-13 extension box can connect up to three adapters. Power is supplied by four AA batteries or the mains adaptor for 100 to 240 V, or optionally by an internal rechargeable battery. Kern specifies an operating time of 20 hours, or 48 hours with the backlight switched off.
Typical applications
- Weighing up to 3.6 kg with a readability of 0.01 g
- Counting parts from 200 mg unit weight
- Weighing in mixtures according to a recipe
- Dosing and portioning with tolerance signal
- Output of measured values via KUP adapter to a PC, network or printer
Those who require a 2,000 g weighing range and 0.1 g readability will find this in the Kern PCB 2000-1 on the same weighing platform. The Kern PFB 6000-1 offers a larger weighing range of 6,000 g with a readability of 0.1 g.
