Product information "Kern PCB 2000-1 Compact Laboratory Balance, 2,000 g / 0.1 g, Weighing Surface 130 x 130 mm"
The Kern PCB 2000-1 has a weighing capacity of up to 2,000 g and a readability of 0.1 g. The stainless steel plate measures 130 x 130 mm and accommodates containers and samples for which a round plate with a diameter of 82 or 105 mm would be too small. The balance is part of the IoT range of Kern compact balances.
Weighing range 2,000 g, warm-up time 30 minutes
At 30 minutes, this balance’s warm-up time is significantly shorter than the 120 minutes required by the PCB models with higher readability. Reproducibility and readability are both 0.1 g, linearity is ± 0.2 g, and the stabilisation time under laboratory conditions is 3 seconds. The minimum weight according to USP is 200 g. An anti-shock system between the weighing pan and the load cell reduces vibrations during weighing. The plastic housing measures 163 x 245 x 65 mm, and the balance has a net weight of 1.4 kg. It is fitted with a spirit level and adjustable screw feet; the display features 21 mm high digits with backlighting. The permissible ambient temperature ranges from -10 °C to 40 °C.
Counting, dosing, weighing
The minimum piece weight for counting is 2 g, or 200 mg under laboratory conditions; the counting resolution is 10,000. A visual signal during weighing with a tolerance range (checkweighing) aids portioning, dosing and sorting. The recipe function weighs the ingredients of a mixture one after the other and displays the total weight of all ingredients for verification. With PRE-TARE, a known container weight is subtracted in advance.
Calibration and test weights
The balance is calibrated externally; a 2 kg weight of class M1 is recommended. Kern supplies the single weight 347-12 (M1, 2 kg, knob, precision-turned stainless steel) and the Safety Set 315-312-407 with 100 g (M1) and 2,000 g (F2) for this purpose. The DAkkS calibration has item no. 963-127.
Connections
The KUP slot is compatible with the adapters KUP-01 (RS-232), KUP-03 (USB device), KUP-04 (Ethernet), KUP-05 (Wi-Fi) and KUP-06 (Bluetooth BLE 4.0). The KUP-13 extension box connects up to three adapters simultaneously. The Kern Communication Protocol (KCP) queries the balance externally and controls it remotely. Power is supplied by four AA batteries or the mains adaptor for 100 to 240 V; an internal rechargeable battery with an 8-hour charging time is available as an option. Kern states an operating time of 20 hours, or 48 hours with the backlight switched off.
Typical applications
The scale’s functions make it suitable for the following applications:
- Weighing up to 2 kg in containers on the 130 x 130 mm platform
- Portioning and dosing with tolerance signal
- Recipes with multiple ingredients
- Piece counting from 2 g per piece
- Connection to a PC or network via a KUP adapter
The Kern PCB 3000-2 has the same platform size, with a capacity of 3,600 g and a readability of 0.01 g. The Kern PCB 300-2 weighs up to 300 g with a readability of 0.01 g.
