The VISOCOLOR ECO reagent case 931301 contains seven ECO tests for on-site water analysis: ammonium, carbonate hardness, total hardness, nitrate, nitrite, pH and phosphate. Macherey-Nagel describes it as a mini-lab for visual water analysis. Evaluation is without a photometer, using the colour chart or, for the two hardness tests, by counting drops.

For carbonate hardness and total hardness, 1 drop corresponds to 1 °d, which is 1.25 °e or 1.78 °f.
931301 or 931304
The larger VISOCOLOR reagent case 931304 has the same tests for Ammonium 3, nitrite, pH and phosphate. Instead of nitrate, carbonate hardness and ECO total hardness, it contains the HE tests for alkalinity, total hardness H 20 F and oxygen. If you need to measure nitrate or carbonate hardness, you need the 931301. If you want to determine oxygen or alkalinity, choose the 931304.
Typical applications
According to Macherey-Nagel, the cases in this range are intended for water wardens, fish farmers and anyone who wants to determine important water values quickly. The brochure lists these applications:

According to the manufacturer, the individual tests are specified for wastewater, groundwater, surface water and drinking water. The titration tests also apply to production water and process water.
Shelf life and storage
The case has a shelf life of 1.5 years from production. According to the manufacturer, the individual tests have different shelf lives: pH and phosphate 3 years, carbonate hardness 2 years, the other tests 1.5 years. Storage is at 15 to 25 °C. According to the manufacturer, test instructions and analytical accessories are already included in the case. It has a foam inlay.

Refill packs for ammonium, nitrate, nitrite, pH and phosphate are also available, as are accessories such as measuring glasses and sliding comparator. According to the brochure, Macherey-Nagel does not offer refill packs for carbonate hardness and total hardness of the ECO range. Enquiries are handled by our procurement service.
