Memmert IPP30plus Peltier-cooled incubator, 32 L, TwinDISPLAY, AutoSAFETY

The Memmert IPP30plus Peltier-cooled incubator reliably maintains samples and cultures at temperatures ranging from 0 to +70 °C – including well below room temperature. With an internal capacity of 32 litres and the TwinDISPLAY feature, the unit is suitable for applications with higher demands on redundancy, documentation and process reliability compared to the SingleDISPLAY basic version, the IPP30.

TwinDISPLAY: dual sensor system, fully programmable

Instead of a single Pt100 sensor, the IPP30plus features two Pt100 sensors of DIN Class A quality (4-wire measurement) that monitor the temperature in tandem – if one sensor fails, the second automatically takes over. In addition, the upper and lower Peltier elements can be controlled individually, allowing for a more precise distribution of cooling and heating output within the chamber. Via Ethernet OR the USB port, you can programme, manage and transfer process data directly using the AtmoCONTROL software included in the scope of delivery – without the need for a separate licence, unlike with the SingleDISPLAY variant.

AutoSAFETY: automatic over-/under-temperature protection

The AutoSAFETY (ASF) function automatically tracks the setpoint within a selectable tolerance range and triggers an alarm or switches off the heating/cooling function in the event of over- or under-temperature – a level of safety not offered by the SingleDISPLAY basic version. In addition, a temperature selector/limiter of protection class TWW 3.3 or TWB 2 can be freely selected on the display. Optional extensions such as a programmable door lock (Option D4), door-open detection (Option V5) or a USB user ID stick for access authorisation (Option B33170) – according to the manufacturer’s list of accessories, these extensions are not technically available for the SingleDISPLAY basic version.

Workmanship and features

The fully insulated stainless steel door with a 2-point compression lock and the internal glass door allow visual inspection of the interior without disrupting the temperature through frequent opening. The stainless steel interior accommodates up to 3 shelves with a maximum total load of 60 kg (20 kg per shelf); an electropolished stainless steel grating is included as standard.

Compact size within the IPP series

With an internal volume of 32 litres, the IPP30plus is the smallest TwinDISPLAY model in Memmert’s range of Peltier-cooled incubators, which also includes the IPP55plus (53 litres) and IPP110ecoplus (108 litres) models – each featuring the same TwinDISPLAY equipment, redundant sensors and AutoSAFETY. Those who regularly cool larger sample volumes or require more shelves will find suitable alternatives featuring the same Peltier technology and the same temperature range of 0 to +70 °C.

Operating conditions and installation

The IPP30plus is designed for operation at ambient temperatures between +16 and +40 °C and a relative humidity of up to 70 per cent (non-condensing), at altitudes of up to 2,000 metres above sea level. It can be connected to either 230 V or 115 V (50/60 Hz) with a power consumption of around 140 W. With a net weight of around 40 kg, the unit can be moved to its intended installation location without the need for technical lifting aids.

As a TwinDISPLAY version with redundant sensors and AutoSAFETY, the IPP30plus is particularly suitable where process reliability and documentation are essential:

• Validatable refrigerated incubation with documented, redundant temperature monitoring
• Microbiological refrigerated incubation with heightened requirements for reliability
• Temperature-stable storage of sensitive reagents and reference materials
• Research and quality assurance requiring full programmability via AtmoCONTROL

Particularly in smaller laboratories with limited space, the IPP30plus often replaces two separate units: a conventional heating incubator for temperatures above room temperature and an additional cooling unit for lower temperatures. As the Peltier element can both heat and cool, a single unit covers both applications. In combination with redundant sensor technology and AutoSAFETY, the unit is particularly suitable for applications where a sensor failure must not go unnoticed – such as during unattended incubation runs lasting several days.
