The Memmert SF750 hot-air steriliser is a Class IIb medical device (in accordance with MDD 93/42/EEC, transitional provisions until 31 December 2028 pursuant to (EU) 2023/607) designed for the sterilisation of medical materials using dry heat at atmospheric pressure. With an internal chamber volume of 749 litres and a temperature setting range of +20 to +250 °C, the unit is suitable for large batches and high throughput in central sterilisation departments, hospitals and industrial applications.
Precise temperature control with SetpointWAIT
A 1 Pt100 DIN Class A sensor in a 4-wire configuration measures the temperature with an accuracy of ±0.1 °C up to 99.9 °C and ±0.5 °C from 100 °C onwards. The SetpointWAIT function only starts the sterilisation time once the setpoint temperature has actually been reached – ensuring validatable, reproducible cycles. The air turbine is electronically controlled, adjustable in 10 per cent increments and low-noise; in addition, electronically controlled fresh air and exhaust air dampers ensure controlled air exchange.
Robust construction and safety
The interior is made of stainless steel with deep-drawn ribbing and is heated on all four sides; the fully insulated stainless steel door locks via a 2-point compression lock. For safety, the unit monitors the temperature electronically and additionally via a mechanical temperature limiter (DIN 12880 Class 1), which triggers at around 20 °C above the maximum temperature. An integrated self-diagnostic system automatically detects faults. The housing is mounted on castors that can be moved and locked in place, allowing for flexible use even with larger units.
Operation, interfaces and documentation
The SF750 is controlled via the ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY: an adaptive digital PID microprocessor controller with a high-resolution TFT colour graphic display and a digital timer (1 min to 99 days). Log data can be read, managed and organised via the Ethernet interface (a time-limited trial version is available for download); a USB stick containing the AtmoCONTROL software is available as an accessory on request. The programme sequence remains stored even after a power cut – this significantly simplifies documentation for quality management.
