The Nabertherm high-temperature furnace LHTCT 01/16 heats with SiC heating rods up to 1,550 °C and has 1.5 litres of usable space in the lift door version. It is operated via the C550 touch controller. At 1.5 litres, it is the most compact size in the LHTC/LHTCT series with SiC rod heating.
Construction and connection
The interior measures 110 x 120 x 120 mm, externally the furnace measures 340 x 335 x 485 mm, with the LHTCT model open, up to 255 mm of additional height is added. The weight is 20 kg. The connection is single-phase at 3.5 kW, the empty, closed furnace heats up to Tmax minus 100 K in around 30 minutes at 230 V.
Heating with SiC heating rods
The silicon carbide (SiC) heating rods are controlled via a switch cabinet with solid-state relays matched to the rods in terms of power. The heating rods are easy to replace. The interior is insulated with high-quality fibre material without classification under Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008, aluminium silicate wool (RCF fibres) is not used.
Door and safety
Size 01/16 is only available with a lift door, the larger LHTC/LHTCT sizes allow a choice between flap door and lift door at no extra cost. The flap door can also be used as a shelf, with the lift door the hot side faces away from the operator when opening. An adjustable air inlet opening and an exhaust opening in the ceiling provide air exchange in the furnace chamber.
Control with the C550 controller
The C550 controller has a touch display and stores up to 10 programs with 20 segments each for temperature ramps and holding times. The C550 is the standard controller for all three sizes in the LHTC/LHTCT series, so the operation stays the same when changing size.
Selection guide
Anyone who needs more volume and wants to choose between flap door and lift door will find the next size in the series in the LHTC 08/16 with 8 litres of usable space and Tmax 1,600 °C. A medium size with 3 litres and also a selectable door is the LHTC 03/16 size, which is currently not carried in the LT shop and is available on request.
Typical applications
The LHTCT 01/16 is designed for high-temperature processes in the laboratory up to 1,550 °C, heated with SiC heating rods and insulated with fibre material. As a factory option, it can be equipped with a protective gas connection for purging with non-flammable process gases, the furnace is not gas-tight in this case. A manual or automatic gas supply system can also be ordered. Within the series, the choice depends mainly on the usable space between 1.5 and 8 litres and on the door version.
