With 9 litres of usable volume and a flap door, the Nabertherm muffle furnace L 9/13 is the medium size of the brick insulation series up to 1,300 °C. Two heating sides with heating elements on support tubes radiate freely into the furnace chamber, the furnace is insulated in multiple layers with robust lightweight firebricks.
Flap door and housing
The flap door opens forwards. The same size is also available with a lift door at no extra cost, then as the LT 9/13. An adjustable air inlet opening sits in the door, the exhaust air leaves the furnace via an opening in the rear wall. The housing is double walled and rear ventilated, made of textured stainless steel sheet. Inside, the usable space measures 250 x 240 x 170 mm (W x D x H), externally the furnace measures 530 x 525 x 630 mm and weighs 58 kg. For the lift door variant LT 9/13, 350 mm are added to the external dimensions when the door is open.
Connection and heating time
The L 9/13 runs single phase with a connected load of 3.3 kW. Empty and closed, it reaches Tmax minus 100 K, that is 1,200 °C, in around 60 minutes. The heating is switched via solid state relays and therefore runs quietly.
Controller B510
The L 9/13 is operated via the touch controller B510 with five storable programs of four segments each, so temperature programs for different samples can be created in advance and recalled. NTLog Basic records the process data directly to a USB stick, so every run stays traceable.
Temperature uniformity
According to DIN 17052-1, the temperature uniformity in the empty usable space with the air inlet slide closed and a working temperature above 800 °C is ±5 K. An adjustable temperature limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature can be ordered as a factory option.
Selection guide
Those who need only 5 litres and prefer a lift door will find the more compact variant of the same series at LT Laborhandel in the LT 5/13 (article no. L-055H3AL). The lift door version with 9 litres, the LT 9/13, is available on request. Those who need a higher final temperature at the same volume will find the matching model in the series up to 1,400 °C with the L 9/14.
Typical applications
The series is intended for use in laboratory and research. With 9 litres of usable volume, the L 9/13 suits somewhat larger sample quantities or several small containers at the same time, at temperatures up to 1,300 °C and with freely programmable ramps via the B510 controller. The five program slots allow recurring processes to be set up once and simply recalled for later batches.
