The ProFLOW 6000 is an electronic flowmeter for gases. It measures the volume flow in the range of 0.5 to 500 mL/min and is used to measure gas flows in gas chromatography. The calibration is NIST-traceable, meaning it is traced back to standards of the American National Institute of Standards and Technology. The instrument runs on two AA batteries, outputs data via a USB port and comes in a hard-shell case.
Measuring range and accuracy
The measuring range extends from 0.5 to 500 mL/min. The accuracy is ±2 % of the flow reading or ±0.2 mL/min, whichever is greater. This results in a threshold at 10 mL/min: below it, the fixed component of ±0.2 mL/min determines the deviation, above it the percentage. At 100 mL/min it is ±2 mL/min, at 500 mL/min ±10 mL/min. Anyone checking flows around 1 mL/min has to include the ±0.2 mL/min in their assessment, because there it corresponds to a fifth of the reading.
For orientation, how large the permitted deviation is at a given reading (the greater of the two values in each case):

Most gas types can be measured, provided they are clean, dry and non-corrosive. Humid or aggressive gas flows therefore do not belong on this instrument. If a flow lies outside the measuring range, the ProFLOW 6000 shows an out-of-range warning.
Handling, power supply and data output
The ProFLOW 6000 can be used as a benchtop or handheld instrument. The ergonomic housing has side grips. Two AA batteries power the instrument and are included. The batteries are thus already part of the scope of delivery. An automatic shut-off function switches the instrument off by itself. Data output runs via the USB port. A hard-shell case for transport and storage is part of the scope of delivery.
Warranty and recalibration
Restek grants a one-year manufacturer's warranty on the ProFLOW 6000 from the date of purchase. Your statutory warranty rights against LT Laborhandel remain unaffected. Recalibration is excluded from the warranty. Restek offers its own service for recalibration.

The measuring range up to 500 mL/min is intended for measuring gas flows in gas chromatography. Flows above 500 mL/min are outside the range, and the instrument then shows the out-of-range warning. Gases with moisture or corrosive components are not intended for the ProFLOW 6000.
For gas leak detection on the same system there is the electronic leak detector from Restek. The flowmeter measures the volume flow, while the leak detector reports by sound and LED how large a leak is.
