The ShinCarbon ST 19043 is a micropacked GC column with 80/100 mesh. It is 2 m long, with an inner diameter of 0.53 mm and an outer diameter of 0.74 mm, and is made of SilcoSmooth tubing, a Siltek-coated stainless steel. The column can be used up to 300 °C.
Packing and detector compatibility
The packing has a particle size of 80/100 mesh. This means that the particles pass through a sieve with 80 meshes per inch and are retained on a sieve with 100 meshes per inch. The ShinCarbon ST packing is compatible with most GC detectors. It is characterised by minimal column bleed and minimal baseline rise. The tube is made of SilcoSmooth tubing, that is stainless steel with a Siltek coating. The inner diameter is 0.53 mm, the outer diameter 0.74 mm.
Preconditioned and temperature
The column is preconditioned. Stabilisation takes less than 30 minutes. Installation kits with the Restek part numbers 21065 and 21066 are provided as accessories. The column can be used up to 300 °C, and the maximum temperature is 280 °C isothermal and 300 °C in a temperature program.

Typical applications
- Separation of permanent gases including carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide without cryogenic cooling
- Fast separation of mixtures of permanent gas and light hydrocarbons
No cryogenic cooling is needed for the separation of the permanent gases, so the oven does not have to be cooled below room temperature. With 0.53 mm inner diameter, the column is narrower than the Molesieve 5A with 1.00 mm. Anyone who needs a different length or a different packing should request the variant.
