Product information "Restek Stabilwax GC Capillary Column, 30 m, 0.32 mm ID, 1.00 µm, 10654"
The Stabilwax 10654 is a polar capillary column with crosslinked polyethylene glycol as the stationary phase. It has a length of 30 m, an inner diameter of 0.32 mm and a film thickness of 1.00 µm, and is intended for fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs), flavours, essential oils and solvents.
Polar phase with firmly bonded surface
On the Stabilwax, the polar-deactivated surface is firmly bonded to the Carbowax polymer. This increases thermal stability and service life, even with repeated use up to 260 °C. The retention times of polar compounds do not shift in the process. A used column can be regenerated by rinsing with solvents.
The USP phase classes are G14, G15, G16, G20 and G39. Comparable phases from other manufacturers are Agilent HP-INNOWax, Phenomenex ZB-WAXplus, Quadrex 007-CW and Supelco SUPELCOWAX 10. A comparable part number is Agilent 123-7334.
Temperature range
The range starts at 40 °C. The column can be used isothermally up to 240 °C and in a temperature program up to 260 °C.
The dimensions at a glance
The 30 m refers to the capillary tube, 0.32 mm to the inner diameter, and 1.00 µm to the thickness of the phase layer on the tube wall. Crosslinked means that the polymer chains are linked to one another. In the temperature data, isothermal stands for a constant oven temperature and programmed for a run with a temperature program.
30 m or 60 m
The 30 m column and its 60 m counterpart share phase, inner diameter (0.32 mm) and film thickness (1.00 µm). Anyone transferring a method to the other length should revalidate it, because retention times change.
| Part number | Length | Inner diameter | Film thickness | Difference to this column |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10657 | 60 m | 0.32 mm | 1.00 µm | +30 m |
Typical applications
The phase is intended for the following applications:
- FAMEs
- Flavours and essential oils
- Solvents
- Aromatics including xylene isomers
- Acrolein and acrylonitrile
- Oxygenated compounds
- Purity testing of chemicals
- Analysis of alcoholic beverages
