The Topaz Single Taper liner 23336 is made for Shimadzu GCs of the types 17A, 2010, 2014 and 2030. It contains quartz wool at the lower end, carries the premium deactivation and has a 3.5 mm inner diameter at 95 mm length. The pack comprises 5 liners.
Single taper with quartz wool
Single taper refers to the single narrowing of the liner. The quartz wool sits at the lower end of the liner and is already inserted on purchase. The inner diameter is 3.5 mm, the outer diameter 5.0 mm and the length 95 mm. This gives a wall thickness of 0.75 mm and a volume of 0.702 mL. The liner is made of borosilicate glass, and the inlet type is split/splitless.
Topaz deactivation
The Topaz deactivation is designed for low decomposition of analytes. Manufacturing controls and quality checks ensure reproducibility, and cleanliness is high. This liner carries the premium deactivation. For the same instruments, the shop offers the straight liner 20956 with standard deactivation. Deactivation refers to the treatment of the glass surface so that analytes adhere to it less.
Which liner fits the Shimadzu
The straight liner 20956 has the same dimensions 3.5 mm x 5.0 mm x 95 mm and is intended for the same Shimadzu models. It has standard deactivation and deactivated glass wool, and its volume is 0.914 mL. The Single Taper 23336 has 0.702 mL, quartz wool and premium deactivation. Anyone who wants to work with premium deactivation should choose the Single Taper. For Agilent GCs, the shop offers the Topaz Cyclo Double Taper 23310 with 4.0 mm inner diameter.
Typical applications
Split and splitless injection on Shimadzu GCs of the types 17A, 2010, 2014 and 2030. The dimensions 3.5 mm x 5.0 mm x 95 mm are matched to these instruments. In split mode only part of the sample reaches the column, in splitless mode almost the entire sample. The liner is intended for both modes and is supplied as a consumable in a pack of 5. Please match the instrument model against this type list before ordering, because outer diameter and length have to fit the instrument inlet.
