Unigloves Blue Pearl, nitrile gloves, blue, powder-free, 1 carton = 10 x 100 = 1,000 pieces - L, GP0014

Product information "Unigloves Blue Pearl, nitrile gloves, blue, powder-free, 1 carton = 10 x 100 = 1,000 pieces - L, GP0014"

Unigloves Blue Pearl nitrile gloves are among the most established colours in the Pearl range and are one of the few Pearl gloves for which the manufacturer explicitly states Class I medical device status in the technical data sheet. Powder-free, latex-free and fully nitrile-dipped, they also stand out thanks to their touchscreen-compatible, chlorinated and phthalate-free design, three features that are documented in the technical data sheet for this colour but do not appear in other colours of the Pearl range. The Blue Pearl nitrile gloves are sold in a carton containing 1,000 gloves (10 boxes of 100 each), in five sizes from XS to XL.

Touchscreen-compatible, chlorinated and phthalate-free

Blue Pearl is powder-free, latex-free and also phthalate-free, a property documented only for this colour of the Pearl range according to the data sheet. Chlorination of the surface makes the glove easier to pull on, whilst also ensuring it remains touchscreen-compatible, so that tablets or analytical instruments can be operated without having to remove the gloves. The thickness is 0.07 mm at the palm and 0.10 mm at the fingertips; two out of three possible measurement points are thus documented. The AQL value in the watertightness test is 1.5.

Tested according to EN 455 and EN ISO 374, with documented Medical Device Class I

Blue Pearl complies with EN 455 (Parts 1 to 4) for single-use medical gloves, as well as EN ISO 374-4 and EN ISO 374-5 for protection against viruses, fungi and bacteria. As personal protective equipment, the glove is classified in PPE Category III, the highest category for gloves designed to address complex risks. For your procurement documentation: Blue Pearl is the only colour in the Pearl range for which the manufacturer explicitly states Medical Device Class I in the data sheet; for most other Pearl colours, this information is not provided. The data sheet for Blue Pearl does not specify concrete permeation values for individual chemicals; only the test standard EN 374-4 is listed, without numerical values. In addition, the glove is food-safe.

Sizes without documented width specifications

Blue Pearl is available in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL, each with its own manufacturer’s item number and EAN, with a length of 240 mm across all sizes. Unlike the other Pearl colours in our range, the data sheet does not provide any size-specific width specifications in millimetres for Blue Pearl. If you are unsure which size is suitable, we recommend comparing it with a glove size from the same Pearl range that is already in use at your workplace.

Typical applications

As one of the basic colours in the Pearl range, Blue Pearl is suitable wherever nitrile gloves are required for continuous use:

  • Day-to-day work in laboratories and medical practices involving frequent glove changes, where the touchscreen-compatible surface allows equipment to be operated without removing the gloves
  • Food processing (food-safe according to the manufacturer)
  • Cleaning and disinfection tasks for which Category III according to EN ISO 374 is specified
  • Organisations that require a documented medical device class for their procurement documentation

Where several wards use blue as their base colour, for example because staff routinely work with screens and tablets, the touchscreen-compatible surface offers a noticeable time saving compared with gloves that lack this feature.

Blue Pearl in the Unigloves product family

Blue Pearl is one of twelve colours in our Unigloves Pearl range. For those seeking active antimicrobial surface protection in addition to the basic specifications, the Crossguard Nitrile, also available in blue, offers a variant featuring KluraLabs technology. Black Pearl is available as a dark contrasting colour for ward identification. All colours in the range share the same basic construction made from fully dipped nitrile, but differ, according to the respective data sheets, in details such as powdering, surface treatment and the scope of the documented test results.
