The WTW SenTix 945-P digital IDS pH electrode is a highly advanced, electrochemical system solution for precise and low-maintenance pH measurement in both laboratory and field applications. Designed for use with WTW IDS multi-parameter analysers, this digital electrode with a glass shaft ensures error-free signal transmission and comprehensive documentation. In demanding measurement series involving aqueous samples, environmental analysis or industrial quality control, the risk of signal interference over long cable runs is the primary factor in ensuring highly precise measurements whilst minimising damage to the sample.

Intelligent IDS sensor technology and digital signal processing

The mechatronic system architecture of the SenTix 945-P is based on innovative IDS (Intelligent Digital Sensors) technology. Unlike conventional analogue probes, the sensitive analogue voltage signal is digitised and calibrated directly within the electrode’s connector head. This transient signal processing completely eliminates electromagnetic interference. An integrated data memory permanently stores the sensor’s specific serial number as well as a calibration history for up to 10 calibrations. Thanks to the intelligent QSC (Quality Sensor Control) function, the sensor continuously assesses its current status and displays this directly on the measuring instrument, guaranteeing maximum process reliability with every measurement.

Low-maintenance gel electrolyte and triple-diaphragm architecture

The material design combines the classic chemical inertness of a high-quality glass shaft with state-of-the-art diaphragm kinetics. An outstanding design feature of the SenTix 945-P is its three integrated ceramic diaphragms. This triple arrangement ensures optimal and rapid electrolyte contact with the sample medium, even in challenging, low-ion or slightly viscous solutions, and drastically minimises the risk of measurement drifts. A proven gel electrolyte serves as the reference system, eliminating the need to top up liquid KCl electrolyte and reducing maintenance requirements in day-to-day laboratory work to a minimum.

Integrated temperature compensation and universal connectivity

To ensure precise measurement results, the SenTix 945-P features a built-in 30 kOhm NTC temperature sensor, which provides automatic, real-time temperature compensation of the pH value. A particular highlight in terms of feel and ergonomics is the universal IDS plug-in head: The sensor can either be permanently connected to the meter via an AS IDS-1.5 cable or fitted with a WTW wireless module for completely cable-free operation. This increases infrastructural flexibility in the laboratory and enables convenient measurements at hard-to-reach sample locations without restricting the user’s freedom of movement.
