The Bandelin SONOREX GT 504 M-C is designed for use in the ZE 1032 and ZE 1032 DT built-in baths. At 35 kHz, it achieves a peak power output of 1,760 W and a nominal power output of 440 W, placing it between the GT 503 M-C used in the ZE 1031 baths and the GT 1003 M-C used in the large 46-litre models.

For ZE 1032 and ZE 1032 DT

As with the ZE 1031, the inner dimensions of the tank in both models are 510 x 300 mm and it has a capacity of 29 l, with a working volume of 20 l. In addition, the SONOREX ZE 1032 and ZE 1032 DT feature enhanced ultrasonic technology: Eight vibration systems are mounted on the base, with a further four on the sides. Bandelin describes this as base and side ultrasonic treatment using TwinSonic technology, which is designed to reduce acoustic dead zones without the basket having to oscillate. The ZE 1032 is operated via the ST 15.1 control unit with a rotary knob, whilst the ZE 1032 DT is operated via the ST 30.1 DT control unit with buttons, a temperature display and an overtemperature warning.

Power and electrical system

The generator is overload-protected and maintains a constant output. It operates with a pulse function and sweep; the DT models also feature DEGAS rapid degassing. The operating voltage is 230 V~ (± 10 %) at 50/60 Hz; the current consumption is 2 A. The leakage current remains below 3.5 mA. The connection to the ST control unit is via an IEC 60320-C14 plug.

Tank and connection

The TE 1032 oscillating tank is made of 1.4404 stainless steel with a wall thickness of 2.0 mm; it has a sloping base with rounded corners and a 1½-inch beaded drain. It is rated to IP 30 and is connected to the generator via a 2 m long connection cable with an AMP-CPC plug. The permissible ambient temperature is 5 to 40 °C. With the ZE 1032, the time can be set from 1 to 15 minutes (± 5 %) or to continuous operation; with the ZE 1032 DT, settings ranging from 1 to 30 minutes are available.

Design and installation

The painted aluminium housing measures 360 x 310 x 142 mm and is rated to IP 20. It is mounted vertically using the supplied mounting bracket and can be suspended on either the left or right-hand side. All three generators in the ZE series have the same external dimensions; the GT 503, GT 504 and GT 1003 differ in their power output.

Regulatory classification

The GT 504 M-C is a Class I medical device in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/745. It is also subject to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU. If you need a generator for the smaller ZE 1031, you will find it in the GT 503 M-C.
