Ultrasonication and shaking of samples in a laboratory flask: The Bandelin SONOSHAKE is a ready-to-use set comprising the SONOREX DIGITEC DT 1028 F ultrasonic bath and the SA 1028 shaking attachment, which can be used either simultaneously or in succession.

Ultrasonication and shaking in one set

The shaking attachment has four shaking frequencies and moves horizontally by up to 20 mm. The ultrasonic bath can be operated on a timed basis or in continuous mode. Both processes can run simultaneously or separately. According to Bandelin, this allows, for example, preliminary homogenisation to be carried out at a defined shaking frequency, followed by final homogenisation using ultrasound.

Shallow tank for laboratory flasks

The bath’s tank measures 500 x 300 mm and is only 65 mm deep. It has a capacity of 9.5 l, of which 5.8 l is usable volume, and is made of 1.4301 stainless steel with a thickness of 1.0 mm. The housing is made of the same material, has an IP 33 rating and features side handles. Externally, the bath measures 535 x 325 x 205 mm, excluding the handles and ball valve but including the feet. The drain is a G ½ ball valve with a 50 cm hose on the left-hand side.

Ultrasonic system of the DIGITEC DT 1028 F

Eight vibration systems generate a peak power of 1,280 watts at 35 kHz; the nominal power is 320 watts. The bath is operated via buttons. The time can be set to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes (± 5 %); there is also a continuous operation mode. Functions include a pulse function, sweep and the DEGAS rapid degassing function. The bath switches off automatically twelve hours after the last button press. The mains cable is 2 m long and permanently attached to the unit; the operating voltage is 230 V~ (± 10 %) at 50/60 Hz, and the current consumption is 1.4 A.

Shaking attachment SA 1028

The attachment has internal dimensions of 410 x 280 x 70 mm and external dimensions of 465 x 340 x 105 mm. It weighs 8.4 kg. The Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU apply to the attachment.

Holding clamps for laboratory flasks

Laboratory flasks require clamps from the SONOREX EK 10 to EK 250 series, which are not included in the set and must be ordered separately. The clamps are required for laboratory flasks.

Classification

The SONOSHAKE is designed for sample preparation in laboratory flasks. A bath without a shaking attachment and with a larger capacity is the SONOREX DIGITEC DT 1028 with a 28-litre capacity; the version with heating is the DT 1028 H.
