Binder ED 23 Drying Oven (20 l, natural convection), 9010-0190

The Binder ED 23 (Classic.Line series) is a compact drying and heating cabinet with natural convection, specially designed for routine thermal applications in the laboratory. With an internal volume of 20 litres and a footprint of less than 0.25 m², this model is ideal for laboratories with limited space that nevertheless require temperature control up to 300 °C.

Temperature accuracy and APT.line™

At the heart of the ED 23 is the patented APT.line™ preheating chamber technology. Unlike conventional heating systems, where heating elements are located directly inside the chamber, the air is preheated in a separate chamber and distributed evenly into the working chamber via the side walls. This guarantees extremely uniform temperature distribution (±2.8 K at 150 °C) even with natural convection and prevents hotspots that could damage sensitive samples.

Process reliability and operation

The integrated controller with a timer function (0 to 99 hours) enables defined process sequences, for example for sterilisation cycles. The exhaust air flow can be precisely controlled via a mechanically adjustable air damper on the front panel to accelerate drying processes. Safety is ensured by an independently adjustable Class 2 temperature limiter (DIN 12880) with a visual alarm, which reliably switches the unit off in the event of an overtemperature.
