The Binder FD 56 from the Avantgarde.Line series is a high-performance drying and heating cabinet with forced convection, designed for rapid drying and sterilisation processes. With an internal volume of 60 litres, it bridges the gap between compact units and large cabinets. Compared directly with models using natural convection, the FD 56’s integrated high-performance fan ensures a significantly faster heat-up time (just 15 minutes to 150 °C) and extremely uniform temperature distribution, even when fully loaded.

APT.line™ Technology and Efficiency

At the heart of the FD 56 lies the advanced APT.line™ preheating chamber technology. It directs the airflow evenly over the side walls into the working chamber, eliminating ‘hotspots’ and guaranteeing reproducible results. Thanks to improved insulation and airflow management, the Avantgarde.Line is up to 30 per cent more energy-efficient than comparable devices on the market. The exhaust air flow can be regulated via an electromechanically controlled flap on the front panel to adapt the drying dynamics to the moisture content of the samples.

Connectivity and data security

For laboratories with documentation requirements, the FD 56 features an integrated USB port. Measurement data can be easily recorded and retrieved. The controller with LCD display allows for simple adjustment of temperature and process durations (timer function). To ensure sample safety, the unit is fitted with an independently adjustable Class 2 temperature limiter (DIN 12880) with a visual alarm, which switches off the heating system in the event of overheating.
