Brand Transferpette electronic Single-Channel Pipette, 50-1000 µl, without Power Supply, DE-M, 705346

When dividing larger sample quantities or preparing buffers, volumes in the three-digit microlitre to low millilitre range regularly arise. This 50-1000 µl version is supplied without a power supply.

Digital adjustment

Easy Calibration enables digital adjustment via the menu in every mode except GEL. A PIP adjustment is automatically transferred to PIPmix and revPIP, while a DISP adjustment applies exclusively to DISP and is not transferred.

Operating modes for different applications

Four of the five operating modes are available: PIP for standard pipetting, PIPmix for repeated aspirating and dispensing while mixing, revPIP for reverse pipetting of highly viscous, high-vapour-pressure or foaming media, and DISP for dispensing a previously aspirated volume in several partial steps. According to the operating manual, the GEL mode for loading electrophoresis gels is not available for this volume range. The active mode is shown on the display and can be changed with the selector wheel without putting the pipette down.

Display and operation

Volume, mode and dispensing speed can be set using the rocker switch, selector wheel and display. The motorised drive carries out the piston stroke, and the thumb only operates the trigger. Especially during long series of pipetting in the 50-1000 µl range, this noticeably relieves the hand compared with a purely mechanical pipette, particularly over a whole working shift.

Battery and power supply in everyday use

The built-in NiMH battery, made up of three cylindrical AAA single cells (3.6 V, 700 mAh), lasts around 8 hours of continuous pipetting or over 4000 pipetting cycles when fully charged. This version is supplied without a power supply. The battery is fitted at the factory, and a suitable power supply for Europe (order no. 705350) can be ordered separately.

Autoclave reprocessing

Unlike the mechanical Transferpette S, the electronic series is not autoclaved as a complete device. Only the unscrewable pipette shaft is autoclaved, 121 °C, 2 bar, at least 15 minutes according to DIN EN 285. After autoclaving, a reference run on the handle section is required before pipetting again.

• Transferring larger sample volumes between vessels
• Preparing stock solutions with DISP serial dispensing

Selection guide

The neighbouring variant 10-200 µl (MPN 705303 or 705343) lies below, and the 250-5000 µl version (MPN 705307 or 705347) lies above for even larger volumes. If you already have a suitable power supply in stock, this version without a power supply saves unnecessary accessories. The operating logic is the same across the whole electronic series. When changing the volume range, only the test values, tip size and the corresponding order number change.

Accuracy across the test range

Testing is carried out at three test volumes (100 %, 50 % and 10 % of the nominal volume). The systematic error is at 1000 µl: ± 0.6 % / 500 µl: ± 1.0 % / 100 µl: ± 3.0 %, and the random error (coefficient of variation) at 1000 µl: ± 0.2 % / 500 µl: ± 0.3 % / 100 µl: ± 0.6 %. For series work this means that dosing close to the nominal volume is the most consistent, while smaller partial volumes should be checked for critical preparations, for example by a gravimetric spot check.
