Brand Transferpette S Variable Single-Channel Pipette, 10-100 µl, DE-M, 705874

When transferring supernatants during protein purification, the volume varies from fraction to fraction, depending on how much supernatant actually has to be removed after centrifugation. The Brand Transferpette S variable D-100 covers 10-100 µl with an increment of 0.1 µl and can be adjusted by dial without tools.

Continuously adjustable with 0.1 µl increment

The Transferpette S variable 10-100 µl (model D-100) covers the volume range 10-100 µl in steps of 0.1 µl. The volume is set with a dial without tools, and a lockable position (UNLOCK/LOCK) prevents accidental adjustment during serial work. To match the volume range, Brand recommends the pipette tip size 2-200 µl. In total, the variable Transferpette S series comprises ten volume sizes from 0.1 µl to 10 ml, so a suitable model from the same range can be combined for almost every working range. One range smaller is the Transferpette S variable 5-50 µl (D-50, MPN 705873). One range larger follows the Transferpette S variable 20-200 µl (D-200, MPN 705878).

Accuracy to DIN EN ISO 8655

Tested to DIN EN ISO 8655 at three volume levels: at the full nominal volume, the pipette achieves an accuracy A of up to ±0.6 % and a coefficient of variation CV of up to 0.2 %, at half the nominal volume ±0.8 % and 0.4 % respectively, and at the lower end, at one tenth of the nominal volume, ±3 % and 1 % respectively. The three test points show that the accuracy decreases towards the lower end of the volume range, an effect that occurs with every air displacement pipette and should be taken into account when choosing the suitable model. The DE-M marking confirms the testing under German weights and measures law. The accuracy A describes the deviation of the average dispensed volume from the target value, and the coefficient of variation CV the scatter of several repetitions at this volume.

Tool-free adjustment with Easy Calibration

If the factory setting deviates, the pipette can be adjusted directly using the Easy Calibration function, without any additional tool. An adjustment slider under the label window with volume offset shows when the factory setting has been changed. A red adjustment slider in the display window shows whether the pipette is still running on its original calibration or has been readjusted.

Fully autoclavable

The pipette withstands autoclaving as a complete unit, at 121 degrees Celsius and 2 bar, with a holding time of at least 15 minutes to DIN EN 285, in the assembled state, and dismantling before sterilisation is not necessary.

Variable or fixed: which design fits

When transferring supernatants, the amount actually available is never exactly the same, which suits the variable Transferpette S D-100. If, on the other hand, the same volume always has to be transferred in a standardised protocol, a Transferpette S Fix from the same range is sufficient. For the D-100 with its range of 10-100 µl, the specific working step therefore decides whether variable or fixed is the more suitable design.
