The Bürkle gas-tight PP drum pump, reference number 5610-1030, is a hand-operated reciprocating piston pump designed for decanting from drums or jerry cans. It connects to the container via a variable universal plug that fits openings ranging from 34 to 70 mm. A vapour return line returns the vapour phase; both lines are fitted with a shut-off valve. The pump delivers 220 ml per stroke and, via a telescopic tube, extends 40 to 67 cm into the container.

Universal stopper for openings from 34 to 70 mm

This model is the ideal choice for containers with openings of varying widths. The stopper fits variably into openings ranging from 34 to 70 mm; a second stopper is included with the original container. If you require a securely screwed hose connection on the container, compare this with the 5610-1040 drum pump, which features 3/4-inch threaded adaptors.

Gas displacement method for low-odour transfer

In the gas-balancing method, the displaced gas returns via a separate line, which, like the liquid line, is fitted with a shut-off valve. The pump is designed for the low-odour transfer of volatile, strong-smelling or hazardous liquids in laboratories, production facilities and warehouses. One example of a strongly odourous substance is ammonia. Acids and alkalis can also be transferred, although the compatibility of the materials PP, PE and PVC with the medium must be taken into account. The outlet hose is made of soft PVC and is 1.2 m long.

Stroke, tube and immersion depth

Each stroke dispenses 220 ml. The tube has a diameter of 22 mm, whilst the immersion tube is 32 mm in diameter. The immersion depth can be adjusted continuously between 40 and 67 cm, allowing the length to be adapted to the container. The piston has a handle.

Flammable liquids are prohibited

The user manual excludes the transfer of flammable liquids; the pump is not suitable for this purpose. The material is non-conductive. The Bürkle SafetyBox 2507-9000, complete with safety goggles and protective gloves, is suitable for this purpose.

Operation and installation

The pump is operated manually and is not intended for continuous use. It may be operated at temperatures between 0 and 40 °C and only indoors; it is not dishwasher-safe and is not intended for use with contaminated media. There must be space above the container for the extended piston plus 20 cm. The pump is maintenance-free.
