This pack contains 10 original DURAN ® Erlenmeyer flasks with a nominal volume of 2000 ml (2 litres). This size is the standard for larger media preparations, the cultivation of microorganisms in shaking culture, or for use as a collection vessel. Despite the large volume, the conical, narrow-neck design (DIN ISO 1773) ensures that the contents remain securely inside the flask even when shaken.
DURAN ® borosilicate glass 3.3 – stability for large volumes
With a 2-litre capacity in particular, mechanical and thermal stresses have a greater impact on the glass. DURAN ® Borosilicate Glass 3.3 guarantees maximum stability and safety thanks to its uniform wall thickness. The flasks are extremely resistant to chemicals and thermal shock, meaning they can be safely autoclaved (121 °C / 134 °C) or used on large hotplates.
Functionality and documentation
The 50 mm neck diameter facilitates the filling of culture medium powders or the insertion of probes. The reinforced flanged rim offers additional protection against breakage around the mouth. For quality assurance, each flask bears a Retrace Code (batch certificate available online). The clearly legible scale and the large labelling field made of white ceramic support efficient working.
